Suzy, a lawn bowls area could be bare ground, like a clay tennis court, I guess, but I figured it was grass. I'm asking what kind of grass surface. Is it 1/16" or less bent grass or hybrid Bermuda, 1-2" cut Bermuda, zoysia, or centipede, or is it a low running Australian grass. A clumping grass like fescue or blue grass would add a little too much to the challenge I would think.

Heidi, I know how you feel to some extent. Alway had dog(s) and it never gets any easier when they go. Lost my old Basset last year to a very aggresive cancer and it was only a matter of days before he was gone, now it is just Bella and me. We both lost our mates last year.

Ruby - June will have to tell you, all I know is that it is very short, very smooth, think they even run over it with a roller! Our local club changes theirs every so often. i.e. digs up the old and puts down new. Hubby and I are social members so see this stuff happen, but know nothing the whys and wherefores....

In case anyone is wondering why I am so clueless about the quantity of junk mail out there, it's because we don't get it out here in the boonies! It would be ethically wrong since I'm working for a distributor right now, but I'm sooooo tempted to tell people to put a no junk mail sign on their mail box if they don't read it. So many trees!!!

So your mail service refuses junk mail? What a wonderful system. Ours comes via US Mail service mail. It is a waste of trees. How about catalogs? Ours are real mail, too. Now L.L. Bean and I are really tight (He calls me dearest Ruby.), but you only have to order one thing to have your name and address sold to hundreds of other mail order vendors. One year I kept all the October catalogs I received (Christmas shopping), and they filled two bushel baskets to overflowing. It's rediculous.

It might be because I don't buy a lot from catalogues, but we don't get many of them either. I don't know what it's like for the city folk.

Rolanda - I've yet to have a rainy day on delivery day, almost, but not quite. I'm not sure what I'll do if/when I do. I know if it's a thunderstorm it's not going out. I'm not suicidal! They can refuse to pay me for that day....
