Thank you for your concern about Sammi. Yes we had put the bed up but that was the day before. Sammi was trying to sleep on it when we were making up the bedding and unpacking linen. He got the hump and went out - there were other rooms with beds he could have gone to. That was the last we saw of him and as it is now a week ago we are trying to accept that he has gone. We live in a village where they hunt with guns on Sundays so it is possible he got shot, also there are one or two neighbours who do not like cats. These are people who like to encourage birds into their gardens.
Sammi was always his own boss not liking to be cuddled or fussed except for the occasional head rub. He insisted on crossing the road even though there are hectares and hectares of vineyads adjoining the garden. He also would bring home live rabbits usually wild rabbits but just before Christmas he brought home a pure white one which can only have been someones pet. If he went back there and got caught....who knows what happened.
You are from WA - is that WA as in Australia or WA as in Washington?

Welcome Thyra! I appreciated reading Mo's detailed account on your page. I have lost kitties to our wilderness and it is heart breaking. Sammi was such a beautiful cat - and a real character. I am so sad for Mo.
I hope you enjoy your time here in Sudokuland.
I have made wonderful friends here...even traveled to Australia to visit many of them in Oct/Nov. Cheers!

Hi Thyra, and welcome to own own special page on the site. You have an interesting name. What is the origin of it? Enjoy my traditional page warming gift, a double chocolate fudge beavertail pastry from Ottawa. Have fun here, and

Thyra!
to the wide wonderful world of Sudoku-land!
I agree with you. Christmas is too short and usually an afterthought AFTER all of the pre-Christmas madness. I always keep my tree up until after Epiphany. (Or longer if the needles aren't falling too bad!)

Thyra, Don't worry about fitting in. Just jump in with both feet. (Every once in a while, while "stiring the pot", I do a belly flop and po a few people, but once in a while I collect a convert.)

As the crow flies you are 32 miles bearing 17.6 degrees true from my Toledo place. (+ - 8 miles)

My Washougal place is 12 miles N.E. of town, in the "west end" of Skamania county.

Any way, welcome to the site. Have fun...

Thyra - nice to see you posting on Easy! We had rain, but not the wind you guys had up north. But there is a big storm hitting here in a few hours, so perhaps the wind will come then. Not that I want it - we live in the forest and don't like big trees coming down!
