Be kinder than necessary,

for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle .

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly.......

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

~

Just stopped by to have a philosophical discussion with you billy on Henry V, one of your hot potatoes for study. Feel free to ask me anything (wink). I am doing this because, apparently, my horoscope today tells me I should have this type of conversation with someone. Who better I ask you!! Then again.. perhaps we should stick to poetry or something lighter.

Oh dear, I may need to reread Titus.

Do you know I have been looking and looking for egg scissors and can't find any?

oh fair Glindiette - while you're at Titus keepeth this in mind:
'Revenge is a kind of wild justice.' with reference to Titus Andronicus, write a bit of waffle in which you assess the accuracy or otherwise of this assertion. If the waffle happens to reach 2000 words - just post on this page with your return addy and I'll let you know how you've done and you may get a small package on your doorstep...stock up with eggs btw...really thought that yonkspeare would be a civilised township - wot no ES??

OK here is the starter to aid you
a) 11th Night the night before t'wen Viola and Sebastian were born twixt the moon by caesarian section (Viola did take the name Cesario as befitted her birth), this was said to be the longest night in the kingdom for their mother and was the orginal title of the play, however, it being Cringlemas they moved it to the twelve for ease and also because on the twelveth day there was an awful lot of noise what with the twelve drummers drumming and Toby belching (in those days they made a terrible row because the drum skins were actually metal). It culminated in a huge party to celebrate the twelve night of merriment. I hope this helps as I have put a lot of time and effort into studying this for you. Make of that What You Will.

tis back...

André - if it all gets too heavy, something lighter, like marshmallows would be good. But only Pascalls. And only the pink ones - then we can play fluffy bunnies...one fluffy bunny, two fluffy bunny...I think my record without suffocating was 11...

b) A Midsummer Night's Dream well this I think has undertones of ho*mos*xuality because it is full of fairies and there is a mention of Nick Bottom during the play, they reckon he was a weaver, he certainly got intertwined with a few of the characters. Puck has to be my favourite the name was orginally chosen after the Olympius Gamus where they threw round discs onto the ice baths and formed a competition to see who could throw the furthest, Puck was disguised as a hobgoblin and threw himself on the ice and won!! There is a Bergonmask Ball towards the end where everyone has a good old dance, its great to see it end so well. I guess a Bergon mask must be named after someone but I don't know who, or perhaps I do but don't want to give the plot away!! Oh forgot to mention there was a band playing at the ball I think it was Marvin and the Mechanicals - great group not sure if they are still around but get a ticket if you see them well worth the money.

c)Titus Andronicus- well what can I say about this such is the sub-plot intertwined with a sub-plot. I mean everyone is called 'ius' for a start and then if memory recalls correctly there are some Goths, you know the usual pierced noses and tongues, see even then in them dark days of Rome someone was making a living attaching metal bits to people's never regions of course the dye they used for the black hair was probably spawned from the olive or some such fruit. It all gets a bit bloody I think and not for the feint hearted, you have been warned billy.

d) Tony and Cleo well aren't they still in Neighbours over there, feel sure I have seen them in an episode that I mistakenly watched while ironing. It must be a great soap to have such characters appearing in it. Of course I haven't ironed for a few years so maybe they have retired by now..

Pausing for a moment from heavy reading... Gosh you know you are right 11 mallows is a bit of a push but I drank some with hot choccy and it melted the swollen puffs in my throat.. try it I'm on my twelveth could be a record..

an almost silent splutter could be heard from the kitchen as André rattled for breath..

e) The Tempest well a classic if ever I saw one, glad you liken to Caliban he is a sweetie (is that the right lingo in Oz?) I am drawn to Gonzalo it is a wonderful cheese to bake with you know dripping onto freshly baked bread. I also favour Ariel, the airy spirit, although I've just been waxed so I don't look like Ariel anymore. I note Sebastian is in this little number, he gets around he must have been a favourite of Wills, don't you think..

f) Henry V well that is an easy one its the fifth play and it comes after I, II, III, and IV I think it comes before IVF the culmination of a series of books that Mr Shakespeare wrote whilst at the palace. I liken it to Harry Potter in that it took a number of years for him to write before he finally gave birth to a masterpiece.

I was in that storm billy, I remember it well. London was like a deserted island, very spooky. Nearly got crushed on the only underground line working, would have to have been mine the Victoria line, being knee high to a grasshopper I suppose it was easy to miss me standing there. My front garden gate was found wrecked down the road, I loved my gate!!!

Hi Billy, Sorry it's taken me six weeks to get back to you to thank you for your encouraging words. I have been having many a good cry over the past 6 months... I think I'm addicted to it now - the endorphins it releases are wonderful. Though I have been doing a lot of bawling about my eldest recently who is currently midway through a 2 week suspension for permanently borrowing a USB. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I did wrong in my parenting for him to think that was ever OK. Well, at least it managed to get my focus off VB for a bit!
Who do you think is going to win the World Cup next month? Do the Wallabies have a hope in hell of beating the All Blacks in the semis or will the AB's choke again?
Got to go as it's getting very late (Paul is skiing for the weekend and so there was nobody to tell me how late it was getting!) Please drop in whenever you want. Rose

Anne/Vermont - I have an idea! Don't bother flying around, just go straight through the centre - hhmmmm? that would bring you out somewhere in Florida (wonderful people live there too) .... You would be back in plenty of time for dinner unless of course you are having such a good time with us that you never want to go back, then dinner would no longer be an issue
