Back from doing yard work, it's too warm [mid 80's] for me to be in the sun [working] for very long.

I went to the golf club for lunch with a couple of my lady golfing friends today. The bistro was very busy filled with Australian ladies on a cookery holiday. Got chatting to one who lives in Brisbane. She was telling us about a 'na*ed' protest by residents of an area on the coast. Protesting about a resort being built. How come this didn't make sudoku news.

I wonder what the point is of banning certain words when some simple workaround (püssy) is readily available.

More to the same point, why does that post remain on the site? Clearly, the purpose of banning certain words is meant to spare readers of the offending word; but when it's right there via a workaround, and stays there through apathy, inattention or mismanagement, it is futility personified.

At the same time, why is the word banned when no one (obviously) objects by reporting the comment?

So what is the point of banning those words? Just to keep incredibly stupid people from posting because they can't figure out a workaround?

Not that I am making a moral pronouncement, just a logical one...

Regarding auto-censorship, not long ago I discovered that a message did not appear because it contained the word 'trapeze', which at the time was banned because it, in turn, contains the word 'r*pe'. Gath has since added the word 'trapeze' to exceptions so it can now be used without trouble. So I have rescued the word 'trapeze' from extinction.

But a more simple question: If the word is banned, why is the workaround permitted to stay?

Simply through lack of objection?

If there is no objection, why is the word banned?
