After one day of sunny weather yesterday we have returned to thundery rainstorms. At least half the roses got deadheaded but the ferocious rain and wind will probably clear off the remaining petals

Happy 57th Anniversary to Hal and Barbara! What an achievement.
My husband and I have been married 30 years on June 11th.

My daughter and her husband leave Brisbane for Hawaii at 8.20am this morning June 4th and arrive in Honolulu at 6am June 4th!
(2am June 5th, our time)

They are leaving their children home alone!
My cute little grandies are no longer little, they are 19 and 17 and perfectly capable of staying home alone for 8 days.
(I still want them to come here for the duration but they say they are fine. Maternal instinct never stops!)

Seeing so many comments yesterday brought back memories of years past and to be on the second page already is wonderful to see.

Snowbird, I just read your 'looks like it's going to rain' comment and you guessed it. It has started to rain, somewhere...

I couldn't see the frog either Amelia. I nearly got out a magnifying glass but stopped myself. It seemed a bit too extreme.

What a day this has been. Started out well enough, we went to Red Lobster for nice lunch.
But when we got home I noticed that the right rear tire on my truck was almost flat. Now changing a tire 10-15 years ago would have been a 30-45 minute job, but with my advanced age, breathing problems (COPD), and temps in the upper 90s (35+C), it took me about 4 hours.

But I did it.

Way to go HalT!

I work two more days, then off to Kansas!

I have done my CP, now I need to do my laundry!

I expected Hal to say how long it took to wait for AAA to come change the tire. That's obviously what I would have done!

Got some news and events to attend. But some of my events are on at the same time and at opposite ends of the city!

Darn, next Saturday, I have a retirement party that I already told my friends at school that I would attend and a brother who scheduled the family visit to honor passed grandparents, parents, aunt, and sister grave site. A big deal in my ethnic culture.

I have a grandson whose birthday is on election day. And he's going to graduate from preschool! And he's going to have a birthday party two weeks from now. Gads, so many events for one little boy!

Then to organize my orchid garden, repot some, and who knows what. That's 7 phalaenopsis, 1 cymbidium, 1 oncidium, and 1 vanilla.

Then there's my office, have to put away the lesson plans for next scholastic year. Already have requests to volunteer in different classes.

And to get back into shape for running 4 miles, 4 days a week. I didn't run at all while I was in Kauai. So owww! I've been managing on 3 miles so far. Ugh!

Am I getting there to turn the page???
