Hello Jyrki - so glad to see you as a member after all the time you've been posting comments. I thought you might like to try some of our local Wignall's Late Harvest or some Goundry's Unwooded Chardonnay. I'll leave them both for you to try and share with your visitors.

Hello Jyrki. I think you have probably been doing the puzzles on this site longer then I have, so having your own page is long overdue. Hi Jyrki. I have posted the answers to your queries about my brother's wooden pieces on the 'medium' Sudoku page but I will repeat them hear in case you miss them -
''Hi all, I have at last been able to contact my brother and found the answers to your questions.
The pieces were abstract art created from a hardwood called COOBA, it is a member of the acacia family, a river wattle from New South Wales and is fairly rare.
The three pieces were turned by lathe from square pieces of wood and were polished by sanding with increasingly finer grit sandpaper down to a final sanding with 2000 grain.
And yes, he is a talented craftsman (in my humble opinion).''
I hope this helps.

Hey Jyrki - I hope you weren't offended by my comment re the pronounciation of your name - it's a shame Gath hasn't installed a page with "voice chat" then we could hear it! I was amused by the description of yourself at the blackboard!
Hope you had a great day.

G'day Jyrki, A very belated welcome to the boards. I must have had far too much time on my hands today because I have been looking at peoples' pages and I found yours which I had not seen before. Your photos are very interesting (but could you please explain to me the pig/duck photo?). Is it a big sculpture? You must take lots more photos of Finland and put them up for us as this way we will get know a bit more of your lovely country. Keep enjoying Sudoku. Cheers!!

Your comment about skylines is too true. The skyline photo of New York City will always remind me of that horror.
I saw a beautiful skyline photo of a sunset in NYC shortly after 9/11 and it prompted me to write this poem.

Towers in the Sunset

Towers in the sunset
Never more to be
A nightmare came in daylight
And blew them both away
Forever from the skyline
Crashing down in dust and ashes
Enveloping all the world
As our hearts
Were pierced by madness
We will never ever
Forget this act of horror
Because these empty spaces
Will exist for evermore
Upon the sunset skyline
Of the city of New York

Thanks for the reply Jyrki. Here is the non-AUR solution I was talking about (after UP 35):
When i6=7,h1=7=e2=d5,g2=6,h3=9=g5,g6=4=e4=d9=c7,i4=2,a4=7=c9 and row 9 is devoid of 9. So i6=4 etc.Regards,Alfred.

I've noticed that the author typically numbers the photos, probably for some filing system. It has nothing to do with the subject I don't think. I don't get the caption on this one.
