receiving messages from all around the world is very humbling. I love to send the messages to others, but receiving them is something very
special.
we share a lot here on site and I love the feeling of the huge 'sudoku worldwide family'.

I love your pictures, how many cats do you have? I think I counted 4 but not sure. Hybiscus are one of my favorite flowers, had them in FL when we lived there but they do not live outside here in OK too cold in the winter. I have never seen a pommergranate flower, nice to see what it looks like. I am leaving you a plate of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies on the table, hope you enjoy. Come visit me anytime.

Hi Vera, The Phillips home is now a museum, as is his summer home at Wollaroc. There are many countries I have not been to including Egypt. I love to travel just have to find the time and money.

thanks for your reply. there are more than one Alexandria, so i had to ask. we drive to alexandria, Louisiana, 1 or 2 times a month. it's a few hours away, but that's not too difficult. you have the original! Egypt is on my list of places to visit! i have yet to see the Mediterranean from any spot. hubby loves it, tho. he was in the US Navy and going through the straits of gibraltar when our firstborn came into this world(37 years ago! lol) things we remember. one of ports of call then was turkey, but i don't think the ship stopped in egypt. he'd love to visit also. we are history buffs and alexandria has a lot of history!
thanks for the mangoes, we love them. here's some shrimp, mudbugs(crawfish), and blue crabs from the Gulf of Mexico.

Vera, the tradition here is to bring an apple for your teacher, although nobody does anymore. My maternal grandmother was from Russia. I am not sure what part. I enjoyed learning that tradition. My grandmother or her siblings may have brought their teachers flowers.

I agree with you about learning a lot from this site. I also enjoy seeing all the pictures from parts of the world I might never have a chance to see in person.

G'day Vera, I occasionally look at the photos members have on their pages and today I saw yours. They are just wonderful. I am so amazed by your cloud photos and have to ask you - are they enhanced in any way by Photoshop or similar, or are they as you saw them? I hope you don't think I am rude asking this but I have never ever seen anything like them before. Maybe such cloud formations aren't unusual where you live but here they would be front-page news. Truly astonishing! I love your cat & mouse too by the way, which are really clever. Thanks for sharing your photos. Kate (Tree Sheila)

Glad you are coming our way, though I live quite far from the center of the city, but HOPE we will be able to arrange meeting. Saying so, because my time isn't belong to me, my husband is seriously ill, and required attention. So, will I be able to meet you or not is depend on how he will feel.
Are you coming with the group?
You will catch probably the last week of Ramadan.
Anyway, wish you to have some fun here. (In case we will not be able to meet).

Hi Vera, sorry to hear about your husband's illness, thoughts and prayers for you both. I am spending all of the time in Alexandria at this stage with my two brothers ( we wewre born there and this is the 1st time the three of us will be back together)We used to live not far from Santa Caterina Church, attended Salvago High School and left Egypt in the mid sixties. I been back twice ever since with a tour and my hasbund, but this is a special time with my brothers reminiscing and go back to all the places we grew up.One of my favourite places is Hagami beach with the beautiful white sand wich I visited with my daughter 3 years ago while on tour ( We took a morning off)So Vera hope to catch up with you even if we have to meet half way somewhere. Vera, I was just passing, thought I'd drop in! I see you have put up a lot more photos in your gallery. You are better than me, I haven't put any new ones in for ages...must do something about that! My hubby and I were blown away by the 'Cloud' photos and I think Mish-Mish is adorable. Apart from the cat at the pool, how many cats do you have? We have four, but poor old Scrap wont be around for too much longer I think.
