Another time the snowdrifts were so high they were able to reach the fire alarms attached to our street telephone poles, which they pulled, then scampered off to hide and watch while the firemen arrived. No wonder my Mum's hair turned grey early!

Chris you could have gone one more and started page two. Have you got a run on this morning? There isn't much risk of getting sunburn if it is in the ACT.

It looks like I came in the middle of Chris' posts, and got beaten by Snowbird as well.. Well that's life.

I didn't spend a lot of time with my parents while I was young, but I can recall one piece of advice from my father. He became exasperated by me asking him all sorts of question so he suggested that 'a shut mouth catches no flies'. At the time we were being assailed by the persistent little flies for which Australia is famous.

An aunt with whom I spent some time used to say that 'my head will never save my legs, as she went back to collect something she had forgotten.

I can also recall the eating crusts and having curly hair. One of our neighbours, who ran a dairy farm, used to encourage us to get out and about on his farm. We also helped with some minor tasks, and he would reward us with 'your blood is worth bottling.
I think that's a CP too.

Snowbird, my husband has twin sisters just less than a year younger than him. 15 months later his youngest brother was born. Those 4 younger kids were always in trouble. My husband says it was one of the twins, not him, even though he was the eldest. Knowing them all now as adults, I believe what he says. That twin is still fearless and likes trouble.

I'll take it to 50, maybe some more will come.

When exasperated with us, my mother used to say, 'In my next life, dogs, just dogs.'

As we got used to that, all she needed to do was shake her head and say 'Dogs.'

I find it amazing how we were all born so far apart in kilometres and yet our parents came up with the same saying. I, too, heard the crusts and curly hair one.
Another favourite was 'A watched pot never boils'

If we ever asked my father what was to eat he would say 'Pigs di*ks and lettuce'

Wonder how the Dockers are doing?

Hello Mo, I've just been going through my photos of my visit to your place in France to see if the photo on 'medium' could be anywhere I saw with you or Lindsay. I don't think it is though. It was lovely to look at the photos.

Are they playing? I've been busy outside weeding the garden while it's still sunny.

Knowing how the Dockers have been playing lately, I can't imagine them doing much good. I thought they played tomorrow but I could quite easily be wrong.

On the news it featured an article of Donald Trump meeting with Kim Kardashian. All of a sudden I felt a weight lifted from my shoulder. All is well in this world

Nah, they're playing tomorrow. Probably need to start now though if they want to win.

Oh, well, I might watch some of the game. Can't miss out on my coffee with friends in town.
