Hi, MizTricia! I'm sorry I missed you. I was curious about all the comments on slow posts, no horoscope, etc., so went to update details. I found this chair and submitted all by myself. Unfortunately, a few others I tried didn't go through, as they were the wrong size. In 'Paint' I can reduce by a percentage but can't specify the required 50 x 50. Do you have any suggestions? (I'll be in and out of SA this evening.) Thanks!

It looks as though no one is here and hasn't been for a little while. Just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm still here, still pretty okay. The right heart cath came out exactly as we expected--normal. Which provides absolutely no answers. We still do not know what is causing the mini-strokes, the dizziness, the shortness of breath; and, oh; they had to infuse me with one unit of whole blood. I go see the hematologist on Monday (regular follow-up); but, who knows what will happen there now??
Thanks to al of you for your thughts, prayers and goo wishes, I certainy needed them (still do)

I had to go back and check Mary. It was the Daughters of Arabia. I seem to be the book repository for my family! We're all voracious readers and the books all end up at my place so there is a very eclectic mix of genres. Comes from being the youngest, always getting the hand-me-downs!

Me too Julie. D#3 and I are HP nuts too. Didn't fall into it till about the time of the second movie but had to then get the books and tore through them in a matter of days. So well written I think, great for getting kids reading again.

THERE SHE IS our Miss Gail . that must have been before computers, when you had time to read. you know, you look pretty much as I imagined you, that is amazing, usually I get it all wrong.


LOVE your house with the veranda/porch, whatever you call it down there. inviting space under the roof with your hanging pots of flowers. now, house is UP high, is that typical there? Can you access the under part for a shady place to sit?

Cyndi, I just want to add my hopes and prawers for answers. Always pleased to see you post, even if its only an update. We're all thinking of you.

I pre-ordered mine, but probably wouldn't need to. I think they have a MUCH better handle on the demand now and do much larger printings. I remember when the first one came out (1998?). I chose NOT to read it & get on the bandwagon. Some time later, I finally gave in reluctantly and was determined to find fault with it. Well, that copy had probably been read at least 10 times. Each time I start gettng withdrawal, I go back and start from the beginning and read up to the current book.

Gail, my photos on gallery came up as soon as I sent them, did not have to wait to be approved.

As for the HP movies - I put off seeing the first one for so long. I had my own mental pictures of what each character looked like, etc., and didn't want it to be spoiled. I finally gave in and watched it (and all since). Some have done a better job than others of being true to the books.

Verandah is what we call them. They run the length of the house on both sides. The reason the house looks so high up on that elevation is that we live on a hill. The rear right hand corner is actually at ground level and drops so that the front left corner the roof is about ten yards of the ground.

I have not read the HP books, I did see one of the movies, when it came to cable TV. Al and I enjoyed it, but have not seen the others.

So this is the final book coming out in July?

Yes, Mary, the final book. So many rumors/rumours have been flying. I think JKR herself has admitted that at least 2 characters will 'die.' Author Steven King as advised that she not kill off HP, even though she had decided when she started writing that there would be 7 books.

OH HWOW GAIL, that is some drop in the length of your house. It does look rather long, but still quite a drop. I love porches, we have a small covered porch off our dining area, and i enjoy having my flowers and chiars for sitting out there.

Yes MizT, we can access under the house. It sits on concrete pillars and has 'barge' boards aroud it so it does get quite cool under there but really its only used as a storage area/potting shed. It is lovely under the verandahs on a warm day. We have plants hanging all the way on both sides but the back is a bit messy so no photos of that!

I just noticed something strange. When I started typing my last comment, I saw Mary's question, but not Gail's answer to MizT about verandah or MizT's comment about not reading the books but seeing one of the movies. After posting, suddenly those 2 comments snuck in before Mary's question if this is the last HP book.

OH did I tel you? we had RAIN today, a gentle mild rain all day, sometimes down to a drizzel, but the kind of rain that soaks in, does not run off.
