Good afternoon all! Busy day of cleaning. Hubby is coming home today and trying to make it look like we made some progress. The rain didn't come in so it is hot and humid at the moment. I'm just flying through to a quick clean up here then another quick clean up at my place but I can't stay to play with you all because I have a lunch date! Don't get excited, its only with a girlfriend, but it does get me out of the house and away from the temporarily incapacitated H! Will be back to chat this afternoon, my time. What's the weather doing out in Perth. We are having a lull between rain at the moment no more new floods for the past couple of days. Unfortunately the flooded areas are still suffering.

There is a Boy Scout jamboree sarting not too far away from us this weekend. It is the 100th anniversary of the scouting movement. Thousands of boys from all over the world are arriving. I hope the weather improves for them.

I know you need the rain, I have heard from my niece there have been water shortages. Trouble is we are in summer and all we are getting is rain too

hmm, just wondering if in 1979, when my friend Sue and I were picked up my Sue's Uncle and Aunt, whether we went by Stevenage on our way up to Grimsby... I know we had lunch in Petersborough

We are fortunate that we don't have abny rivers in the area so have no flooding, ground is very sodden with all the rain but not flooded
Stevenage is a 'New Town' built after the war to house many people from London. It was the first of these new towns to be built 60 years ago. It has expanded rapidly lately and lost most of it's community spirit.

You probably would have driven either through Stevenage or past it on the way from Gatwick especially if you went to Peterborough.
The A1(M) actually passes about 300 yards from where I live. Though I wasn't here in 1979 this house was just being built then
