I live in Berks County PA, did you get the snow tonight? I too have lots of animals...dogs, horses, and fish(in a pond).

We've now gotten shovelable(?) snow, and that's where I'm going in a few mins.
I understand not looking at e-mail...also looking for a job...and needing a break! I am doing all of the above...and need a break too...shoveling, will be kinda nice!

Hi Pata. Just dropped in and saw that you're in Bucks Co. For 13 years I lived just across the river and a bit south from you. I love Bucks Co. except for the alternative medicine veterinarian who is (was?) there. Because she didn't do traditional blood tests, my precious dog died a slow and lingering death, unnecessarily. But you do have a beautiful location and I've spent a few happy hours there in the shops, and just wandering around. Nice to meet you! 4/12/08

We first went to the alternative medicine vet after reading a feature article on her in the Philadelphia Inquirer. She acutally does have a conventional DVM degree from the U of PA, so we thought she would be safe. Unfortunately, she wasn't, and we wasted hundreds, or maybe even thousands, of dollars on various junk meds in tiny bottles. Our original complaint was that Tim seemed to be a bit stiff when walking lately. The acupuncture is the only thing that really seemed to help him. She treated him for several months, and then we moved to NC. When we took him to the vet here, he did blood tests and determined that Tim, our dog, was severely anemic and had many other deficiencies, and also that Tim had a large, malignant tumor on his spine. We had to have him put down shortly after that as he could no longer stand and walk, and he was just getting weaker every day. He obviously was in much pain.

Well, that's my story. I never did contact that PA vet to tell her of the findings, but I wish now that I had. Tim's tumor was inoperable anyway, but we wouldn't have hauled him there and back so many times, and we would have seen to it that he did not suffer for months on end before we got the proper diagnosis.

Thanks for listening ... I think I needed to get all of that out again.
