Really nice evening with a cooler breeze. It will be much more comfortable for sleeping tonight. Only a high of 20C tomorrow, so hopefully I can get outside and get some yard work done.

Haven't done my chores yet. I was talking to my sister-in-law and we were continuing with plans for her wedding on June 25. It's getting close!

Her hubby-to-be has a stove we can have that's only 3 years old, no charge. I never did get my oven fixed, but our stove must be about 20 years old. One less thing we have to save up for - thank goodness. We just have to find someone with a truck to pick it up for us - she lives about an hour and a quarter away from us.

Checking in without reading. I have had trouble with my internet connection today. The internet connection box is on my computer desk. I can see the lights as I walk in. All would be green as they should be, but when my shadow hit the box, they would all go out or turn red, meaning no internet. I told Al. he kind of gave me that look. Then I made him watch, yep, next 3 times I walked in, happened again. HE had to try, same thing. He giggled wires and moved some things, said he did not know what was wrong, but seems to be OK now/ My magnetic personality I imagine

Heidi, I know who I thought you would see under water hehehe. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Will that be done in doc's office?

Broni, I do believe #3, it has happened. What, me make a typo? No way. I just like covvee hehehe.

Theresa, good luck getting your new to you stove home. I know you will enjoy it.

Broni, yes, Al has nibbled today. the burger that tasted good last night did not tonight, but he ate all his veggies and his deviled eggs.

Al found our new phones today. They are all plugged in over the house to charge the required 7 hours. Tomorrow we shall see if this solves the problem.

Back to watch some TV with AL, I hope to check in again later, Hugs to each of you.

Theresa, well done on your nearly new stove. Mine has given up the ghost and refuses to start at all. I've been checking out replacements. Shock, Horror, I can't believe how expensive they are.
Unfortunately, I've put it off for as long as possible so I just have to go and get one now.
Mine has lasted 15 years and only started playing up in the last 6 months.

Howdy all. I've been to the hairdresser this morning and look a million bucks all for less than 100! It's hubby's one day a month at work today, so apart from the cats, I am home alone :)))
D#2 came in a bit sheepishly this morning before she left for work asking if I could do her a favour. She is heading to Qld tomorrow for a mini vacation and asked if I could PLEASE do her wash that she had just put in the wet room, so she could have some undies to take! She apologised for leaving it till the last minute, but really it's no skin off my nose.

Speaking of D#2, she went over to her young friend's place last night, you know the one I mean. I said as she was leaving that it might be a very hard visit. I didn't catch up with her when she got home, so I asked this morning how friend is doing. She said she seemed scarily ok! She is having difficulties with his family, but as she is his next of kin, she is the one who has to make the final decisions. Imagine, 19 and arranging the funeral of your de facto partner :(

Oh Gail, poor little thing, at 19 - wouldn't it be nice if she and the family could unite in their grief and organise the service together, in harmony.
Why can't people get along? I guess it depends on the people. And if the boy was difficult, he got it from somewhere - usually family. Or am I generalising too much.

Gail, who is paying for the funeral? I think she should definitely involve his family since he is so young. I hope she is open to that!

Hard to put good news right after that but I have to tell you - don't tell the locals!!! Forever Archie spent some time up at the radio station today and their bit will air on Monday morning. It will be cut together to make it sound like they are doing it live - which is why you can't tell the locals. Later that day we will be given a CD with a copy of the show. I don't think I'm supposed to upload that - copyright etc, but if I can find a sneaky way to do it so only you guys can see it I'll do it..

Suzy, it's not that she is not including them, but their wishes for him are different, specifically his sister. It has to do with cremation or burial, gf knows he wished to be cremated, but the family has a plot where they expect him to be laid to rest. I have no idea who is paying, not my place to know or pry. btw He was somewhat older than her.

Gail, that's a tough one, doing what he wants alienates his family...

The who is paying has to do with who decides things, but the dilemma you describe is beyond money..

Suzy, can you put up a link to the radio station. Maybe the simulcast on the web and we can try to listen. Your Monday morning is my Sunday night.
Theresa, enjoy the new stove. I hate it when appliances break. I will be paying off my fridge for the next year. I will be teaching summer school, at a private school, this year. 6 weeks and only 4 hours a day. So far, I will have about 4-5 students, all taking advanced math classes. Three to make up for low grades, 1 to work ahead of the school year. There may be a 5th student.

Wishing all a good day. Coffee is ready, pour yourself a cup. I will try to get back tonight but I have to take Mitchell to an awards banquet at school. Tomorrow I have to get him to school about 5:30 am for his field trip. I then have to register him for High school. I will see you all tomorrow night for sure.

Morning all - beautiful coolish day. I had my first cup of covvee outside and I could have used a sweater.

MizT, you do have a magnetic personality!!!! Good luck with your new phones.

Suzy, my lips are sealed about Forever Archie. Would love to hear that radio show.

Rolanda, have a great long weekend!!!!

Have a good day. Sounds like a busy time ahead for you.

Off to have a second cup of coffee outside, but this time I will take a sweater. Catch you all later. Hugs to everyone, whether you need them or not.

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

Sorry - I know it's not the top of a page but I just had to share this when I read it. Those of us with grown-up kids, in particular, may identify with this. I, for one, was always too busy with being a mother and all the responsibility that went with it to stop and appreciate that it doesn't last and they grow up and away.
Oh, how I wish I could do it over again - seriously! But, as described above.

I CAN HEAR AGAIN! They put a T tube in my ear after suctioning out gobs of fluid. This will stay in for at least 5 years, so I'll have to wear an ear plug in that ear if I'm around water (such as showering).

Very loud. Plus my ear hurts (larger than normal incision) and I have a headache. So on the way home I treated myself to a cute little fountain for the sunroom.
