In case anyone thinks I'm anthropomorphizing about that tractor.....
The Native American peoples believed that anything that was made for a purpose is alive. They don't understand the white man's belief that everything around them is dead. They consider all things to be alive in some manner. I have always agreed with that belief. So that g.. d... tractor is alive and can plot against me. I have known some supposedly inanimate objects to have interesting personalities. When I was 10, we got a car from England called a Morgan. I loved that car. She gave off a feeling of calm and love. If someone was in a bad mood, and tried to start her, she refused to start until they calmed down. When I was upset, I'd go out to the garage and talk to her. She always made me feel better.

Heidi you had a Morgan!! They are wonderful cars and you had to have the patience of a saint to actually get one. The waiting list for a new one was years long. I can imaging that car giving off a feeling of calm and love as they were hand crafted and made with love not like the mass produced vehicles on the road nowadays.

To me, there is no better car on the planet. The one we had gave her life to save my mother and sister. I never got to drive her, tho I wanted to with all my heart.

Hi all. Stopping in for a moment to catch up on the important news of the world. Or at least the news that is important to me.

Heidi, I also think that appliances have a personality. Some of mine definitely have not liked me over the years even though I take good care of them. My first car had a name, Putt-Putt. It would go zero to thirty in 5 minutes flat and made a putting sound until it warmed up.

Off in a few for my birthday dinner. I've already started yelling at IH for cutting it so close in getting cleaned up. He's been told that I'm leaving in 10 minutes, with or without him.

Morning all,
No bubs yet.

Heidi, hope you got to your birthday dinner on time.

Tami, most of our cars have had names - the good ones at least. We still all yell out Ooney! when we see our old van on the road. She was actually called un boop boop. The cars we have now don't really have names yet. Hubby's is kind of blondie (license plates BLD), but it hasn't really stuck. Mine has football license plates but none of us follow football so...

Dana just got up. I called out. Morning, still in your tummy, when you gonna get that girl out of there?? She didn't seem too impressed.

I'm back. My tummy is full, and the companionship was the best. It's nice to go to an Indian restaurant with friends who love Indian food, too. We shared around our dishes, and got to sample new foods.

Gekko my friends.
Well went and had my eyes checked, 10 days till I get my glasses. Then off to have my hair done only to get home to another leak in the pool, not only the liner but straight thru the wall of the pool, called in backup when I couldn't stop it. 2 hours and many failed attempts, it now has a champagne cork stuck in it from the inside, so guess who was the bunny that had to do the deep sea diving for the 2 hours??????? Torso, shoulders and arms are not happy today, so this little bunny mowed the lawns this morning duh!(forehead slap!)
Went as saw Teresa today and took the dogs for a walk, now I am ready to fall in a heap.
So enough of my whining, how are my wonderful friends?
Love and Hugs.

Bl00dy hell Broni, were you trying to break yourself??? I hope you feel less sore after a good night's sleep.

Viv, I've got everything crossed for you. I only want them to find something benign with a cure though.

No sign of the bub and the mum to be is getting grumpier and grumpier.

Hope you had to open a bottle and drink the contents so you could use the cork Broni. Sorry your beautiful hair was ruined in the attempt to repair the pool.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Viv, I also hope that something that can be fixed is found. I don't like hearing about friends in pain.

Zusy, we all get a little grumpy towards the end. Have patience. It is almost over. Then the real fun begins.

Heidi, glad you enjoyed your birthday dinner and had good company.

Broni, I'm sorry but the thought of you in the pool sticking a cork in the side made me laugh. Sorry about the hair, though.

Broni, did it ruin the colour or will your hair be beautiful again? I too hope you got to drink the champagne!

Alie is just home from 'the best day ever'. She went to the Show with the bf. The last time she went to a carnival one of the carnies gave her tips on winning the prizes so when she played the game today she won first try. Then the bf won her something at another game. They went to a stall and bought some new agie type stuff. She bought herself some stuff (rope bracelets and a wooden flute/whistle) and raved over a little woven basket. The guy gave her the basket for nothing because nobody had shown any interest in them before. THEN they walked into town to get something to eat. The bf didn't have much money left so they decided to just get a small chips and gravy to share. The shop was closing so they gave them two containers of pasta salad and a large chips and gravy, all for the price of a small one. THEN they got to go to a movie together.

I got to sit at home with my painfully slow internet, babysitting my grumpy pregnant teen. Um.... I want to be a teenager again!!

Suzy, ask Alie if she will share some of the tips with me. I am chaperoning a field trip to the local fair next month and I want to be able to beat the kids. Tell Alie not to worry, I won't be competing against her. Although if I ever win the lottery I will be coming to Australia. I can dream, can't I???

IH is gone for the day, so I slept through the morning. I feel much better. The numbness in the tongue is starting to wear off. Halfway through the meal last night, I was finally able to taste the spicy food. Now the numbness is restricted to the 2 cm on the tip. Did I tell everybody that IH got off scott free for my birthday? The friends I invited to dinner (I told IH that since they were invited, they were OUR guests, and he had to pay for everybody.... my only birthday present from him) insisted on treating us since it was my birthday. IH did not argue it one tiny bit. So what did he do? I chose the restaurant. I chose who to invite. I drove to the restaurant. Our friends paid. I drove home. He didn't even give me a birthday card. Is anybody surprised?

Suzy.... Tell Dana from me..... 2 weeks to go! THIS is what happens from unprotected s*x. Don't let her forget it. The worse it is right now, the better the lesson will sink in. Let Alie see what the results are from being careless, too. And pregnancy isn't the worst thing that can happen. Most STD's are worse.

I had a good day at school today. We were short a reading teacher so I had the same group of kids for math and reading. I had 28 6th graders and they behaved really well. It actually made being there on a Saturday fun. A few of the boys were a little talkative but they stopped quickly.

Hi folks. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.Apart from our 'communication' problems here all is right in world.

Lachie and I are back to sharing mobile broadband.. wretched ADSL... Pete is coming over this afternoon to disconnect all lines from the first jack so that we just have the one line. At least we will know then if the problem with the wiring is within the house (my problem.. expensive) or Telstra's line in (their problem). I suspect it is their end.. hope that's not just wishful thinking.

Must away... Sundays are always BIG declutter days.. garbage day tomorrow and I always try to have the bin chockers..
