Good Morning friends. Today is starting out cloudy and breezy, more humidity. I am hoping the breeze will dry the clothes I hung out this morning.

I need to cook today, perhaps I will make a meal in one dish casserole today. need to clean out fridge too. A strange odor coming from something in there, smells like old lettuce, but none there. I have removed, washed, checked everything, more than once, but it is still there. I like my fridge clean and sweet smelling, please and thank you.

Heidi, sometime today I shall set my clocks for daylight savings. The only thing that changed auto was cell phone. computer will change at the OLD date for the time change. I can do a temp fix by moving my computer to the eastern time zone till it catches up. I cannot believe you did not know. it has been all over TV and radio here. Not everyone has TV on every day though.

Suzy, glad the trip home was uneventful. I know it was hard for you to leave. what arrangements were made for your Mom? will she go home alone? Have visiting nurses? go to assisted living or some other thing? How far from you does she live? You left 3 adults at home while you were gone. If they did not keep up with chores, I would call a family meeting and assign them part of the work needed to catch up. It is not as if you were on vacation while they were left home. Perhaps they do not realize you need help catching up.

I am off to tackle that fridge once again. Wish me luck this time. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

I haven't watched TV in several years, MizT. Except for the game at your place. I only listen to the radio in my truck. I pay attention to the weather forecasts on my puter, since they are important to my day-to-day existence. I DO read our local weekly paper, but I have been aching so much for the past few days that I didn't get around to this weeks issue. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

Taking a break after moving 15 rolls of hay. I need to get rehydrated before setting out again. And maybe do a puzzle or two.

Brenda... He's a winner. And from what I can see, he's a good one. I have judged Shelties in numerous puppy match shows, so I'm familiar with the standard.

OK.... I'm done hauling hay. I don't like having a tractor on the road as it's getting dark, even though the tractor has lights. There are too many morons who run into slow moving vehicles around here. I also need to get more diesel for the tractor.
IH said that he would spend the afternoon helping me. He was to hook up the 16 ft. trailer to his truck so he could haul another 3 rolls per trip. Guess who never showed up to help. Is anyone surprised?

I'm tired, so instead of cooking an elaborate supper like I usually do, I think I'll throw a 4 meat pizza in the oven.

He helped pull the calf because his cousin Don was around, and he's look really bad if he didn't help. Of course, he's saying that he pulled that calf by himself.

No. He started making excuses as to why he couldn't help. He could have, but wanted to do other stuff instead.

Pizza sounds good, making me wish I had one to throw in the oven here. When I have to go to clanton, county seat, which is not often, I stop and pick up a hot and ready pizza. I make 4 meals of it, and am burned out on pizza again for a while after that hehehe.

Topsiders, your clocks all changed? some of mine are, and some not. I think my alarm clock at bedside is only one not changed, must do that before bedtime. To change my computer ( It will change automatically on the OLD date for start of daylight savings) I just move it to eastern time, easy enough to do, and will move it back once the auto program kicks in.

I always remember my MIL on the Saturday night when the time changes. official time of the change is at 2 am. She set an alarm and got up to change her clocks, twice a year. No one could make her understand you could change them fore you went to bed and they would be right when you woke up. ". .but the time does not change till 2 am". hehehe

Time for dinner, I think I will have a ham and cheese sandwich tonight. I had a full meal at lunch time today, and not really hungry now. Hugs to each of you, with extras. I might be back again later, we shall see.

Really tired, despite the fact that my body thinks it's an hour earlier than the clocks do. So I'm off to do a cow check before going to bed early.

Back from the boat, now the sun is shining but still too risky to be painting. Now to krow on my neglected house and a really good hot shower!

Well the house is still neglected but the yard has had a trim, the hot shower was brilliant, now just kicking back to recuperate for paid work for the rest of the week.

MizT our clocks don't change for a couple of weeks.
I'm waiting for a friend to come over to do some painting for me. She is in dire straits financially but would never take a handout of cash. I wanted some decorating done, she loves decorating so I am paying her to do it for me. What a fight I had to get her to accept payment for it though. Finally she was told if she didn't take payment then she didn't get to do the work, I would have to pay my normal decorator to do the room. I will be giving her cash not a cheque as I know she wouldn't cash the cheque.

Rolanda, if the Great Expectations you are watching is the one we saw recently we thought it was very good. It is also why Pip is called Pip. He was born on Dicken's (and my daughter's) birthday.

Checking in for the day - got to Tassie this afternoon, now on our friends WiFi, so not relying on that dongle for the next week. Such a beautiful area around here. Beautiful views of mountains in one direction and inlets, bays and islands in the other - interspersed with quaint little towns, farms selling produce, craft shops and restaurants. Had dinner overlooking Bruny Island at Oyster Cove tonight! And the best thing - catching up with our friends and their little boy running into my arms at the airport terminal!

Looking for news of Suzy since last night - still very much in my thoughts.
Great Expectations - my Grandmother was pregnant with my Dad during their long sea journey as they emigrated to Australia in 1915, she read and loved GE on the journey. Hence my Dad's name was Philip - his sisters always called him Pip or Pippy, so did Mum sometimes.

Pleased you arrived safe Cyn. Bruny Island is a lovely spot.
Had the injection in my thumb. The Dr. tried to get the tendon back in while the thumb was anaesthetised but it is still 'clicking' but with less pain. He said it should reduce the pain by 60%. I was hoping the whole thing would go away!
The black hawk helicopters are doing night exercises in our area and keep fling over the house. A bit scary as they do not have lights.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself. I am on vacation and had to get up early to go to dentist. Have I ever mentioned I hate going to the dentist. The boys also have appointments this week. See you all later.

There are two cows in labor right now. One is experienced and very restless. The other is a first-time heifer that I have been expecting to calve for the past week. Her calf is starting to appear. It's front feet are sticking out and mama doesn't know what's happening. She doesn't know enough to lay down and push.

IH insisted on going out with me for the first morning cow check (which he usually does himself, since he's the morning person). Not only did he not see the heifer off by herself in labor, but he also opened a gate and let the cow in labor through into a 20 acre pasture with loads of hiding places. I had to leave the first-time heifer and get that cow back in the calving pasture where she belonged. He really is clueless. I find it hard to believe that he grew up on a farm with beef cattle.

Heifers can take twice as long as cows to calve, so I'm leaving her (#575) alone for an hour or so. The older cow (#545.... she lost her tag and was retagged, so her number doesn't indicate her age) is in first stage labor only, and the calf hasn't started to appear. The next calf born, by the way, will be #666.

Yes Rolanda that is the one we saw recently. Neither Richard nor Elaine had read the book so they really enjoyed the programme, not knowing the story. I still enjoyed it even though I knew the plot.

Back from the dentist and teeth are nice and clean. Will talk to him tomorrow about what work needs to be done and the cost. Boys have appointments, one tomorrow and one Wednesday. Could not get them on same day.

Heidi, hope all is well with the calves. IH really does seem clueless.
