Wow, Suzy! They make it sound like your Mum was the most beloved person in the town, a local legend! What a tribute to her!

Overcast day here today, and they're calling for rain, so I think tomorrow will be mowing day, not today. If the place is ready, it's ready. If, it's not, it's not. The world won't come to an end over this. The tour is the day after tomorrow.

Radar shows that the rain missed us to the east. So much for excuses. I might as well do SOME mowing, then.

Taking a break in fixing and stuff. I moved an old, broken 600 gal. water tank, repaired a bunch of broken boards on a wooden fence, and have the front barn lot mowed. I'm taking a break before finishing the back barnyard.

They've now changed the weather forecast. It's supposed to be warm and sunny for the tour on Tuesday.

I'm done with outdoors chores for the day. The place is looking good. The lawn needs to be mowed tomorrow (when I told IH that, he looked at me in a baffled manner and said "But the lawn has already been mowed!". I responded.. "Yes... A week ago! The grass grows!!") and a little weed whacking needs to be done. Otherwise, we're ready.

IH just walked in and asked what other chores I wanted to do today. I told him that I was done for the day. He then asked me what I wanted to do for dinner. I said that I wanted him to go get chinese carryout, but I figured that I wasn't going to get what I wanted.

What I did get was hot and bothered. He just let the puppies and their mother out and they were running around the horse pasture, stampeding the horses and chasing cats. Of course, he drove off after he let them out of the yard and left it to me to catch them again.

He spends all of his time going back and forth between the house, the lab and the office. He has problems sitting still for any period of time. I don't know what he's doing, but he seems to be very disorganized. It drives me nuts.

He just told me that he's spending tomorrow at the plant. I'm so glad that he's taking these preparations for the tour so seriously.
Actually, Robert and I can get more done when he's gone.

Today (4/1) is my dad's 75th birthday. Called this morning to wish him a good day... Darrell was home when I called dad, so he got a chance to chat with him...Glad they get along so well. I am watching the American Country Music Awards. I know some of these groups/artists, then there are some I've never heard of.
I have a VERY diverse taste in music. That's what happens when you have an uncle who worked in the music business for years.
Not much else happening. Love & Hugs to all with extras!!!!

I'm getting the new seniors on Wednesday afternoon. Sugar is a White collie and Izzy is a sable who is a questionable purebred. Both have been vet checked and are as healthy as possible for their advanced ages.

Hi folks...
Singing for tonight has just been cancelled... somewhat disappointed. I love it so much.
Good thing is tho I 'spose that I won't have to interupt this massive clear out that I am having... and I have to tell you .. that is really difficult for someone who has taken hoarding to a pathological [and dysfunctional] level.. Oh boy... at least all the empty cardboard boxes are coming in handy... something to pack all the junk for disposal in..

I need to take a few photo's.. remind myself of how it was when I started so if I get discouraged I will be able to remind myself I am making a difference!! It is quite overwhelming.
It will be a happy day when I unearth my passport and the missing travellers cheques.. I need to put my trip back on the front burner.. none of us are getting any younger.

Very social day today. A friend of mum's arrived with a cappuccino and we chatted for a long while, she left with a couple of mum's things to have as memories. Then I took off to visit the shearing shed owned by the guy who told me about the sculpture. It's not a working shed, though it was 10 years ago, now it is set up as a historical tourist site. You can even stay in the old shearer's quarters on a camp type bed for $10 a night. Another cup of coffee. Then neighbour came over to pick up the chicken I had defrosted for dinner tonight and told me about his appointment at the doctor. It's lucky I got some stuff done this morning!!

Bean, I recommend you continue no matter how hard it is. I'm finding all kinds of treasures so you never know what you might find. Those travellers checks and particularly the passport would be very motivating. I hope you don't find them until you are nearly finished!!

Heidi, I always assumed you slept separately from Gil because of the dogs. An elbow to the ribs seems like it might be in order.

Morning friends, it is a damp, overcast, humid day this morning, cool but you break a sweat easily cause of the humidity at 95%. I was up at 6:30 am, and have hung out towels in anticipation of sun and lower humidity later today to dry them. Put a load of darks into the sloshy thing.

TAMI, you reminded me I have not yet had my cup of coffee. I was waiting my hour, but has been longer than that already. thanks.

Heidi, has Gil moved his office from basement of house into that double wide you bought? Where is Robert living now? I am confused once again, your life changes so quickly.

Suzy, it is good to have your Mom's friends drop in, being by yourself totally with the chore of sorting everything would get old quickly, at least it would for me.

Bean, hope you do find the travelers checks and passport. having a good fly-lady fling is therapeutic, I have found. get started and let it go. Keep the memory, toss the item.

Best be back to looking for recipes for eggplant dishes. I have found 2 so far that interest me and I have ingredients on hand. I will make them up and then freeze portions for later.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Prayers for Mama's continuing progress and recovery.

Suzy... these visits may slow you down, but you get to hear more stories about your Mum. Those are priceless. Thank you for sharing them with us. It makes me feel almost like I knew her a little. I have gained a lot more respect for the Emu Lady.

A rest day for me today, and you know, I still have more to do but all in all, I am in better shape today pain wise and tired wise than I thought I would be.

I was just out on back porch digging in the dirt in my pots. emptying out old, adding new soil. Friend Betty brought me a couple 6 packs of moss rose (portulaca) from the flat she bought herself. they will fill one long planter nicely.
I planted a yellow lantana, a shrub that can be container grown. They bloom a long time each season. s0e of them are perennial, some are anuals, depends on location within this zone.
