The difference between can and cannot are only three letters. Three letters that determine your life's direction.

Tami, you certainly had a trying day! I can't believe the nerve of that girl! She not only lied about teachers but also about other students, accusing them of theft, etc. Her punishment needs to be strong enough to send a message that she (and others) won't forget! She also should be required to admit to her mother in the presence of school officials that she made up the story! It's interesting; a friend posted a video on facebook today about "wrongaholics" and how people can't admit that they could be wrong or make a mistake. I didn't get to finish it (about 17 minutes, I think) but should take the time to see if it's worth sharing.

Heidi, Cyn and Suzy, I like your avatars!

Cyn, your schedule is VERY full! And your house will be full tonight! Enjoy having the 4 girls for a sleep-over!

Suzy, good luck with your shopping tomorrow! Hopefully you can find a "less-busy" time for it!

Heidi, I can't believe IH asking you for a loan! It makes me think he doesn't "get" it. It seems that he is incredibly cheap and just expects others (you) to take care of him and his needs and wants. (Don't worry, I didn't think you would "loan" him money.)

Thank you for the Easter wishes, Judy! Happy Easter to you, as well!

Vicki, I'm so glad everything got sorted out with the new computer and programs at work - and just in time for the end of the month! Good luck getting everything done! Have a wonderful (and busy) weekend!

Heidi, Suzy's right that we would suspect you, but MizT is right in that we would never tell!

MizT, you're also right that Cyn's granddaughters will long remember these special sleep-overs at your house. Enjoy your lack of sleep because it will mean they are having some wonderful bonding time!

It's past 1 a.m., so I'll be heading off to bed. Take care everyone and share these positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers and Good Night!

Happy Easter/Holiday or whatever!
Heidi, I burst out laughing when I read your first comment about IH. That you would ever consider it never entered my head.

Someone asked about cell phones at school. The students are allowed to have phones at school, they are just not allowed to use them. For some reason, I can spot a kid across campus using their phone. That is one reason my AP did not believe little miss perfect. She knows I see everything.

2 watching The Fantastic Mr Fox (Hayley & Madeline).
1 playing DS (Emily) whilst watching said film.
2 asleep (Chloe and Poppy)!
Thanks goodness for Maddie - she whipped those others into shape, got them helping me with dinner, organised the bath schedule, worked out who was sleeping where. Ah, she's her Mother's daughter - I used to be like that but my brain got fried somewhere in recent years.

Allowed to have phones but 'not allowed to use them'! That is like giving them icecream and telling them they are not allowed to lick!

I am here only briefly again today, but wanted to drop in and let you know the latest with Lizzy.
Of course I cannot find my phone so can't quote exactly, but due to the nasty nature of the infection, she is on strong dose, long term antibots. I hope to pop in and see her this weekend sometime, so I will pass on your wishes. xoxo

Still in hosp MizT, IV for a long period, then oral. When my sister had her bad infection, she was able to come home in a scheme called 'Hospital in the Home'. She had an infusion pump, and the nurses came three times a week to change dressings and reset the pump.

Al came home on IV antibiotics also, hospital supplied all the medication and supplies, I did the IV push administration. IF he had insurance, home nursing would have been out, since he did not, I was his nurse getting IV antibiotics at home saves the hospital big dollars, and lets the patient be more comfy at home.

Big hugs to Lizzie.

Julie, you have grandies who live a fair distance from you and you don't see them very often..... then you NEED SKYPE. My brother keeps in touch with hi grandies who live in Australia. A cousin has kept in touch with her granddaughter (who turns 1 next week) it means she is not a stranger to the little girl. I use Skype just to keep in touch with friends and family. It doesn't cost anything soI would persuade your husband that it is a good thing to have on your computer.

There are 2 problems with a cattle stampede..... One is that my cows are too well behaved (1/3 of them are former show animals that are as gentle as dogs, and the rest have been selected for calmness) and..... Two is that IH is so afraid of being hurt that he avoids going anywhere near the cows if they're agitated, or it's after dark.

I'm off to the bank in a few minutes to FINALLY open up a separate checking account. Knowing IH, if I don't give him the money, he'll steal it from me. That means taking the money that I use for paying the mortgages and bills.

Broni..... I know you didn't enjoy being in that oven of a building every day (Wasn't it a chandler's?) so you do have the opportunity to find your dream job now. Life really is an adventure, isn't it? So many ups and downs, and unexpected turns.

I have done the deed. I now have a checking account that IH can't touch. The bank employees know he's not to touch it. too. He has a history of faking my signature on loans, etc, to get his hands on money, and I need to keep his thieving fingers off my stuff. My favorite stunt of his was to "refinance" my first van. I paid cash for it, so there was no financing involved. Behind my back, he went to the bank and took out a loan in my name, forging my signature, to pay for the van in small payments. He pocketed the ten thousand that he took out the loan for. He eventually did pay it back over 5 years, but he had the gall to tell people that he paid for my van. Of course, because my name was on the loan, I was legally responsible for it. He's stopped doing that since I now tell the banks and loan officers that he forges my signature to legal documents.

Heidi, could you tell the bank and loan officers that they must see you IN PERSON for any loan in your name, and if they approve a loan otherwise, you will sue them personally plus the bank, and press criminal charges against Gil and them also? that might get their attention. It is a shame to have to go to such lengths, but with his history, it is necessary. I hope he does not act out when he finds out you have your money separate now.

Morning all,
First let me say that I am in shock Heidi - you didn't already have separate accounts when you consider your money separate? I am surprised that you didn't have him charged over the loan incident, or maybe it was too long ago and you weren't as cynical??

Cyn, Maddie sounds wonderful. Isn't it great when you have one who can do that without annoying the others...

Tami, at Alie's school the kids can use their phones on breaks but not in the classroom. If they go off in class they can be confiscated.

Gail, when/if you see Lizzy please pass on hugs from me! I hope the antibiotics kick the infection where it deserves to be kicked. I've never heard of anyone in Oz going home with IV anything so suspect she will be in hospital for a while. Can you PM me the hospital so I can send her a card please??

MizT, is Al gaining weight now that the treatment has stopped. I forget when you said he gets his scan to check it's all gone. It's all gone!!!!

Alie has been awake all night. She watched the Sixth Sense with us. I know she doesn't like horror movies, but I don't either and that movie left me with a sense of awe rather than fear so we didn't expect it. I was watching carefully and all of the way through I was thinking 'how did I not see it??', but I didn't. And I didn't detect any slip ups or contradictions either. Hubby and I thought it was hilarious that this was the movie they chose for the birthday present in 50 first dates.

Julie posted a link to a video on Facebook and I decided to watch it during my off-peak time because I hoped it would help me understand children with autism that may be in my classes at some point. It was brilliant and amazing on a much more personal level than that!

It's actually on Facebook so posting it here wouldn't be useful as I don't think you can watch it if you're not on Facebook. But I would recommend it to Julie's friends over there...

Two of Alie's friends are coming over today - though they were originally Dana's friends. Boof is supposed to be coming over tomorrow but isn't sure if he's going to be allowed - he has been grounded all holidays and although he is theoretically free now, it seems he's not that forgiven.

Suzy... the loan incident was around the time of the poaching incident..... when I'd had enough and had him arrested..... and he was found guilty of 3 violations and fined $3,000.00. He's pushed his luck a few times since then, and I've had to threaten him with arrest, and he's finally figured out that I am not bluffing.
