MizT and Ruby, how about dandelion greens? Do you guys fix them?
Drove through Atlanta once. Never again. We were on our way home from FL and talked hubby into driving thru on the interstate. We hit it at rush hour. OMG, pouring rain, heavy traffic going 80 mph. Needless to say, didn't do much gawking. Was too busy holding onto the door handle and staring straight ahead.

siesta over?..
A horse travels a certain distance each day. Strangely enough, two of its legs travel 30
miles each day and the other two legs travel nearly 31 miles. It would seem that two of the horse's legs must be one mile ahead of the other two legs, but of course this can't be true. Since the horse is normal, how is this situation possible?...

I would imagine appy that if the horse is going around in a fairly tight circle the outside legs would be extended more than the inside legs and therefore travel further.

A hunter met two shepherds, one of whom had three loaves and the other, five loaves. All the loaves were the same size. The three men agreed to share the eight loaves equally between them. After they had eaten, the hunter gave the shepherds eight bronze coins as payment for his meal. How should the two shepherds fairly divide this money?
me havent tried it..the pain fogs the mind..

No dandelion greens. That's a weed. Poke salad is a weed, too, but some people eat it. The berries are supposedly poisonous.

ABOUT STUFF: I discovered why I have had time to work on cleaning house so many days. I forgot to do laundry! I have a huge laundry basket for dirty clothes, and today when it was soo full that I could not close the door of the closet where said basket resides , I took a good look! I shall be feeding the washer for the next 2 days! OH MY!
Cleopatra here, queen of de Nile
Wish me very low humidity and windy days here, NOT enough room to hang out half the laundry at once.

HI STELLA, party was a great success. Thanks for asking. Everyone had a great time. A LOT of food was eaten, Ian liked southern cooking, Tanya was surprised at having a birthday cake with candles. Tanya's favorite cousin, Greg, who is more like a brother to her, did not give the stamp of approval to fiancee, but he has never thught anyone is good enough for his cousin hehehe.
We exchanged things we had saved for a family member. One niece sews, but is moving house, so she brought me a HUGE bag of "quilting scraps" to go through later. My BIL had picked up an old quilt book for me at the friends of the library sale.
I took little trinkets I had picked up for my sister, birds that she collects and a Coca cola Santa limited edition Christmas ornament a friend sent to me to give her. Back in January, before my hands went bad, I had started a collection of PURPLE chirstmas ornaments, mostly beaded "necklace ornaments" for one niece, that had gome from a small tree to a huge one. she moved into ahouse now that she has married, and her collection of ornaments that was fine for a table top tree were not enough to fill the big tree.
It was a perfect fall day. The littles could play outside (Greg's 3 children) and called often for grandpa to come push them on the swing or go for a walk along the creek. Of course grandpa went outside with them.
There was one cousin a bit under the weather, that sore throat, crud virus going around that is highly contagious. always at least one person not up to par when you get such a large group together. We found her face down on the bed for a nap when we missed her for a bit.
My sister pulled out the last of th ephotos that Mom had, and we divided them to take home. Made up rules as who shold have the photo when it was a group of all the cousins. LOTS of group photos when they were small, on the floor, watchng gifts being opened at Christmas or birthdays. Parent of the kid that was the main focus got right of refusal on the photo. MANY were double prints, so more than one person was able to take home.
We found my baby book, I was the only one who had one! Being the oldeest, Mom had more time to fill in some of the pages. Then came TWINS when I was 3, no more time for baby books!

June, you don't think that horse could have been a mile long? That way its front hooves would always travel a mile farther that its rear hooves. You know that Arabians have an extra vertebra.

Ruby, Laura was good and slept well. I had her for two nights. Laura still has reflux problems and the specialist has been suggesting she may need an endoscope? but at this stage Sharon has decided against it, for which I am pleased. The reflux situation is improving so we will try occasional medication to see if that will work. I was not looking forward to Laura having all that trauma. (it was to be next Thursday)
MizT, Glad the party was such a success.
When my Mum passed away there were lots of family photos dating back to 1857 (one printed on glass). I scanned and made two copies of each photo and then we divided them so that we each got 1/3 of the original photos but a copy of the others. I have two younger sisters.
Did you give a stamp of approval to Ian?
I am off to bed. If I wait any longer I will start tomorrows puzzles and it will be another hour!!

ha June and Ruby..here I beg to differ..
The shepherd who had three loaves should get one coin and the shepherd who had five loaves should get seven coins. If there were eight loaves and three men, each man ate two and two-thirds loaves. So the first shepherd gave the hunter one-third of a loaf and the second shepherd gave the hunter two and one-third loaves. The shepherd who gave one-third of a loaf should get one coin and the one who gave seven-thirds of a loaf should get seven coins.Hope I made it clear.
cheers

MizT, it sounds like it was a wonderful party, Christmas in September! It's always nice when the whole family can get together!
Ruby, D#2 seemed good. She looked good and her cold didn't seem too bad, although I did bring her antibiotics just in case it went into her ear. The kids there seem very friendly and it seemed like she knew everyone. She did ask to come home this weekend as they have an "open weekend" and most of the kids are leaving. She has a half day of classes on Friday and then a soccer game. She has no classes on Saturday so she doesn't have to be back until 7pm Sunday.
We also went to Boston College to see D#1 and go out to lunch. She looked a little pale. I think she is overextending herself. Just received the BC newspaper via email and she wrote a big article on immigration. I'll have to ask her who edited it though. Sometimes they chop it in the wierdest spots. Usually, she attends the lecture and writes about what was said and the audience's reaction. This time they just wanted the lecture referred to and the article be a fact piece on the current state of immigration/deportation. So she had to do a lot of research.

June, if you stop back, I heard somewhere that eating part of an apple(don't know if it is a particular kind) with anything that is eaten (meal, snack, etc) will prevent the reflux. It would be something to look into anyway.

Appy, that is the way I figured it out, but it just didn't seem fair. I preferred to think of it as the hunter buying the 8 loaves first($3 to one and $5 to the other), and then out of the generosity of his heart, he shared them with the two shepards.

A famous Shakespeare quotation has been put into fancy language below.
Can you put it back into its original form?
It is an absolute necessity for me to obtain an equine quadruped; indeed, it is so essential that I will abandon my royal domain in return.

A palindrome is a word, sentence or group of words that reads the same backward or forward.
Anna and Otto did very well in sports and collected many medals and trophies. Until they could build a special case for their prizes, they kept them in an appropriate place. What did they call it?
_ _ _ _ _ _ .. _ _ _ _ _ _
(dots there just to keep the spaces between the 2 six letter words.)
