I'm not thrilled living in a suburb. I miss being in the country. I don't get it. They keep building more houses and shopping centers even tho they can't sell or rent what is already here.

It's a bad habit they can't break. It does seem rather senseless.

I think a big part of it is greed. When the housing market was booming, they were slapping up houses willy-nilly. A couple of the builders are being sued for shoddy workmanship or "lying" to the buyers.

That certainly doesn't surprise me. It's amazing what people think they will get away with. Whatever happened to pride in a job well done?

Hi Becky and Rena, Back after a day out with a friend shopping. I bought three casual tops and that will set me up for the summer.
I had suggested we go to the movies but my friend had arranged to take a jacket back with a broken zipper and have it fixed. Will probably go to the movies on Saturday. We want to see Hair Spray. I saw the stage show in New York last year.

Rena, was raised to do a job to the best of my abilities. Drives hubby nuts 'cause I'm the same way at home. Asked him one time why do a job halfway when you have to go back later and do it again.

Hello June. I wish it was summer coming up instead of winter. Every year it gets harder to look forward to the cold weather. I have a new YouTube on my page that I made.

Yes Becky I had read about the cat telling you it wanted to be fed. Animals really do find a way to communicate. It also goes to show the bond that is formed on these pages when we think about one another when away from the computer.

Rena I have to go out again soon so I will see if I can download the YouTube while I am out. We are still on dial up and they take forever to down load so I generally give up waiting after 15 minutes.

June, I compressed it quite a lot so it might not take too long. It loads almost instantly on my internet which is quite slower than high speed.

I will try shortly Rena. just went outside to find the kookaburra waiting for some meat which he flew down and took from my hand and also two lorrikeets with a baby. They eat nectar and ripe fruit but I have a special mixture to make up for them and the three of them sat on my hand to eat it. It is the first time the baby has been on my hand.

Saw Rena's YouTube but took 3/4 hour to down load. Sharon just rang to remind us we have to go to see her get a scouts award tonight. I must admit I had had a seniors moment! Have now fed one white cockie and the crimson rosella. the family will be up from Melbourne next week so I am encouraging the birds at the moment so the bots can enjoy feeding them.

June, you have such beautiful birds in Oz. How wonderful that you can feed by hand. Your grands are going to love them. My resident family of blue jays are up tuning their pipes for the day. Quiite a racket, It hasn't been light here long.

Good morning all! Chilly this morning but it is supposed to warm up later.
Great video Rena!
Talking about wildlife, I was laughing so hard the other day when I talked to Brendan. He went to church on Sunday and he cut through a neighborhood that is across from the church and right next to his school. In the woods in a backyard were two deers. They were munching on plants. He tossed some rocks into the bushes hoping they would leave, but they didn't move. He found a tennis ball and kept bouncing it, but the noise didn't scare them. He bounced the tennis ball at them, bouncing twice and then hitting one on top of its head, but they didn't move. He was afraid of the deer before, but now he was really afraid because they were so bold. He ran as fast as he could hoping to squeeze past them. When he got near them, they took a few steps back and just let him pass! Around here, wildlife still acts wild. By his school, it is a densely populated area and one would never expect to see deer. (It's basically a suburb of NYC.) Apparently, there is a big problem with deer down there. They are not afraid of people. I wonder if that makes it really dangerous to drive with all of the deer roaming around.
My niece emailed me a picture of the baby. She is beautiful and she named her Safara Grace.

About 100 years ago someone let some deer go in one of our National parks just outside Sydney and now there are over 1,000 and they regularly have to cull them as they cause so much damage, and have caused quite a few car accidents.

A friend's sister died when she hit a deer with her car and right on my corner a horrible accident occurred. A deer jumped out of the woods onto the front of a car and went through the windshield. The deer ended up in the backseat where the 7 year old son was sitting and the deer was still alive. The little boy didn't have a chance and the mother, who was driving, couldn't do anything. It was horrible! I never heard anything about the mother again. I think they must have left the area. I can't imagine how you would ever get over something like that.

Running out in front of cars is one of a deer's favorite things to do.
