Love material glue. It's great when you're fixing a sweater that has started to ravel.

I second that Rolanda. Would like to see a picture of the costume.

BECKY, that is a good use of fabric glue, I had never thought of that. I need to get some fabric glue to my every day capori pants I had on this morning. Tiny pin hole just showed up, I have worn and worn these pants but they are so comfy!! Baby blue, knit, elastic waist, pockets, what more can a girl ask for??

put less sugar in than stated in the receep MizT.

Thanks, Rolanda, will remember that. Actually I shall probably use half Splenda and half sugar and a total of only 1 cup. We do not like things sweet here. Most recipes can use the half S and S formula just fine and still maintain texture

just checked out yur cake recipe, similar to one I had made, called a dump cake, fruit was 'dumped" on top of the batter, which rose to sourond the fruit. I had forgotten that recipe. Since I do not know where a copy of that one is, I shall try yours.

MizT, I've made dump cakes before. This one is real moist, almost like zucchini bread.

Bye Rolanda, hope you get your pants done before your trip.

Sometimes I have senior moments. Was thinking about the recipe, but then saw Stella's post about the costume.

We're not talking Shakespeare's Tempest here are we?
This is the Little Mermaid. Glitter is the way to go. They make a white glitter now that is not just little metalic squares. It's finer and opalescent. It would look good on a light ground, like pink or aqua. The smaller you make the scales, the better they will look. As for the body of the thing, I imagine someone has made a pattern for a Halloween costume for that by now. It probably has leg openings in the back and a stuffed tail out front.

Hello, everyone!

Two days away, and I've missed everyone! Goodnight to all on the North American continent. Have a great afternoon/evening to those in Oz. I think Europe is also sleeping - middle of the night. Perhaps we'll see each other tomorrow.

I keep having trouble here. When I try to refresh, I get kicked out. Then I can't get back in or I only get a white page!

Thank you all for your suggestions regarding the Ariel costume. It definitely gives me something to think about.

The simpler, the better, as far as I'm concerned. But she does want to look nice in front of her college friends. Last year her friends all rented fancy costumes and she (having no money) just used a combination of her clothes to make an 80's outfit.

The material for the bottom is a shiney green silk-like material. Probably material one would use in the lining of a prom dress. I got lime green netting for the part at the top of the legs and for the fins. I have shiney purple silk-like material for the top shells. She wants to look the same as the Ariel from the Disney movie. She has an Ariel message board on her door and everyone thinks of her as Ariel.

The biggest problem is finding the time to do it. I'm going to D#2's soccer game tomorrow in Boston and then bringing her home for the weekend.(Which means returning her on Sunday.) I also have to get the house cleaned and organized. It turned into a war zone when all the kids were getting their various things ready for school. I spent hours in Brendan's room yesterday and it is still not done.

Morning Stella. Every once in awhile I have the same problem of being logged off. I sent Gath an e-mail letting him know. No one else has. If you send him one, he might be able to find the bug, if there is one.

I'll just keep going since I have to leave in a minute.

Last night I went to bed early because I haven't been sleeping well. Around 10:45pm I hear a beep from my phone. Brendan texted me asking me to check my email. He emailed a paper he wrote and he wanted me to check the grammar. In high school he wouldn't let me check his papers even though he is not a great writer. Now he asks! Apparently, he gets 5 points off for every misplaced comma, run-on sentence, quotation marks or any grammatical error. So I ended up staying up until 12:30 and I was really too tired to think. Oh well, he shouldn't have waited until the last minute. The paper is due first thing this morning!

Morning Becky! I didn't see you there! I don't get logged off. I just can't get back in. It's only been for the past few days. It mostly occurs when I refresh. This morning I also lost a long post. Very frustrating.

The last time it happened to me was either on Monday or Tuesday. Since I'm the only one to tell Gath, he thinks it's unique to me.

Do you think that S#1 would use a grammar book? Years ago I bought a paperback one for hubby when he had to write a lot of e-mails at work. He would have me proof read them.
