June, I did that when I lost my first post. I didn't want to have to work my way back in, and it seemed to work. I thought it solved the problem. But when I submitted the post, all I got was a white page. I'll have to try it again to see if it happens again.

SEWING AGAIN
STELLA, Your fabric sounds lovely, and my suggestion of iorn on would probably not work, cause that fabric would not stand the high temps needed to fuse. Fabric glue would be best if you do add on scales.
I need to look up Ariel and get a picture, might help some.
http://www.littleariel.com/images/art32.htm
OK, this is an original Gel Cell from the movie and no scales show on the "fish" part. It does seem to have a pearlesence shimmer to it in some photos. My daughter who has the movie, said that the fish part changes colors in the movie, from the green to silvery whitish "flash" so I would look for the white pearlized glitter that Ruby (I think) suggested, and sprinkle that on the fabric. There is a spray on fabric glue that stays soft that you might use to attach some of that. OR you might find a spray perlescent product with it's own glue. For the flipper on the bottom, seems that black lines are most prominent, and if you are making that from net, humm, maybe a broad tip black marker to get the lines in that?
Just some more ideas for you.

Time for me to get busy. I have lots of yard work and it's supposed to get hot again. Want to get it done while it's still cool out.

I have a minute, so thought I would pop in to say HELLO to EVERYONE! Have been so busy lately that I hardly have time to do Easy puzzle & read comments there and here in bits & pieces. So, HELLO, have a good day/evening/night. I need to go get some dinner, but hope to get back here sometime before my bed calls.

Stella, for what it's worth, I think that every college student should have, on his desk, a good dictionary, a thesaurus, a Skrunk and White style book and a comprehensive grammar book (not a text) like the Grammar Bible by Strumpf. I gave sets to my niece and nephew when they left for college and you just wouldn't believe how grateful they were. (hehehe) Of course the c-note that fell out of the package didn't hurt, either.

I agree that scales are too much. An over-all shimmery, iridescence is better for the costume, Stella.

If they have good teachers, that's a start. [Not however, like the semi-literate ex-teachers who inhabit (or infest) this site.] Apart from that, youngsters should read, and read, and read, and read. Then they should read some more. Good and competent writing is a lot like language. The more you are exposed to it, the more you absorb it, and it becomes part of you.

Good evening SAers. Just waiting for the imminent arrival of D#2 from her p/time job. Then the taxi light goes on, she wants a lift to a party! I don't remember there being this many parties when I was a kid...but then again, I'm having trouble remembering what I had for lunch today!

RUBY, I see you got some much needed rain. Congratulations! Was that from the "wanna be" tropical storm system along the Florida East coast, sending out bands of rain up your way? I am hoping that rain holds off here through today, but we do have a 20% chance, according to weather forecast. Al is outside working today.
The humidity is here, one of those days, you cannot get the temp right inside. Run the AC to rid of the humidity and it gets too cool, but turn it off and it gets too humid. Well, it could be much worse, for sure.
