When you say yard man do you mean someone who does the garden?

However much money is spent during elections I wonder, I am sure it could be put to better use.

I'm going to charge my lawn mower up and do it myself. I really don't need him every week. The things that I wanted him to do, he didn't want to do. If it didn't have a motor to do the work, he didn't want to touch it. There are plenty of guys riding around town pulling trailers with lawn equipment on them. If I can't handle it, a replacement will be no problem.

There aught to be a limit of time and money on elections. Of course, they'd cheat.

Have you got much to do? Lawn mowing is good exercise if you don't have a ride on like MizTricia, all that pushing and pulling! Some garden jobs are really "man's work" though. As you say get a contractor in.

And if they cheated, that would be another scandal to add to the list.

You don't hold them in very high opinion either? I get so tired of all their excuses for this, that and the other.

I am amazed at how they get away with things, some in the highest office make huge mistakes but they are still there!

That's quite a big area to do on your own. Is it a formal garden, like nicely manicured lawns or just cut grass? Does a 'yard man' clean gutters and do other maintenance?

Politics? Do you want some of this little war we've got? Then the rest of the world can be mad at you, too. And there's no end in sight.

I see we share opinions on politicians and the months/years leading up to elections. Certainly the money spent could be put to much better use!

The world doesn't seem to be too pleased that we are supporting the US in Iraq, in fact a lot of Australians don't like our soldiers being there. What is the feeling in the US?

A yard man usually does all kind of jobs outside for you. But as I said, if there isn't a motorized implement involved, this guy wouldn't do it.

Just popped over to Easy. On page 3 vdV has some great one-liners. Didn't stay to read them, as I wanted to get back and say, Good Night. (This time I mean it. I need to get up around 6. Enjoyed the brief chat, but must leave you two now. Hope to see you tomorrow. Take care!

When we went to Iraq there were still traces of the overwhelming feelings from 9/11. Now it feels like Viet Nam. You know if we leave, it will revert to what it was, or worse.

Night Julie, sleep well. You are quite right Ruby, Iraq would self implode if left now, I think it is worse than Viet Nam, there was at least a stable government to take over, there isn't in Iraq. On the previous page you mentioned dove shooters, what do they do with the doves?

I would have tried to do a better job in Afghanistan by sealing the Pakistani border first. Then I would have tried to flush the devils out by coming in the front and back doors at the same time. I would not have gone to Iraq.

People used to eat doves. I suppose they still do. These are gray mourning doves, not white doves.

That is a good point. Would Pakistan have been agreeable. The land between Pakistan and Afghanistan is pretty rough and rugged. It wouldn't have been easy. I would like to know what Iraq did with all the weapons that disappeared though.

Who saw Iraq's weapons? Don't you think Sadam lied about a lot of that stuff to keep his neighbors back?

We used to eat pigeons, they were pretty tough though, I shall have to look up gray mourning doves, don't think I have ever heard of them. I get so cross here when white doves are let loose at weddings and funerals, the poor things are eaten by birds of prey withing days!

Ruby we mere mortals will never be told the real truth. There is so much propaganda. It is hard to believe that so much damage was done to normal people in Iraq and to their houses, schools and hospitals if there wasn't anything there to be worried about. If there was nothing there then it is a catastrophe.

I've looked at Perth on Google Earth. So many houses have only a postage stamp of ground.

Sorry I went back to politics. Tut tut, slap on the wrist. We have about an acre of 'formal garden' and nine acres of paddocks. We only have salty bore water so are restricted to what will grow, mostly geraniums and petunias and native shrubs. I have some photos of our garden on my page. This week we start making hay, so plenty of tissues needed!

Hello Ruby, Hello Lynda.

There's still weapons there as well, but good point, many of thm could have been shipped off to Syria. And don't you think they would be right back when we leave?

Up to the mid 1980's all blocks of land were a full quarter acre, not they are down to 400 sq metres, less when they are grouped together as with retirement homes. There just isn't the water available to water too much garden. Our area is to the South East of Perth, it is pretty hilly.
