I don't know if this will translate, but here is another puzzle. (We're only up to April.)
Imagine 3 triangles. Each triangle has a number on the outside of each angle and two of the triangles have a number in the middle of the inside. The third triangle has a question mark in the middle.

Following the logic used in the first two triangles, find the missing number in the third triangle.

1).....1

.......64(inside)

..4..........3

2).....2

.......36(inside)

..2 ..........2

3).....7

.......?

..3..........1

The outside of the first triangle is the 1, 4, 3, with the number on the inside, 64. The second is the 2, 2, 2, with 36 on the inside and the third is 3, 7, 1 and you have to figure out what number would be on the inside based on the pattern of the other two.

I'm not here really. Just having a sneak peak before the afternoon chores take over! Just went for a walk to the main street with D#3 while D#2 was out having her driving lesson. Took us an hour and ten minutes. I cheated though, I parked the car down at the oval because I knew we couldn't face THE hill of death at the end of the walk!!!

Gail, you should try my driveway, that's a hill of death after a walk.

GAIL, does not sound like cheating to me! If that hill getting back home is what is keeping you from more walking, by all means, park the car at the bottom!! You walk enough, maybe by the end of summer, you can o the walk and then the hill also.

Anybody watch the new TV program, CANE tonight? I liked Jimmy Smitts on L.A. Law and NYPD Blue, and this looks like it might be good. Fast moving pilot tonight, wonder if it can continue at that pace?

The doctor told D#1 that he thought it was poison ivy. But it is not! She sent me pictures of the areas. First of all, it doesn't even look like poison ivy. I'm allergic to poison ivy and we have lots in our woods. It doesn't look like the bumps you get from it. Second, she had the 3 bites on the bottom of her leg and a different type of bite on the back of her knee (the one she thought was a spider bite since her roommate got the exact same bite on her arm) and they didn't get a rash around them for almost a week, and then her leg got stiff and started to shake. Besides, where would they have poison ivy on campus? So, hopefully it will get better on its own since the doctor didn't know what he was talking about. I was just hoping she would get through one semester without becoming really ill.

The next puzzle is a word one but it is kind of out there. I had no clue.

What do the following words have in common? (It has nothing to do with vowels, consonants or syllables.)

RIALTO

BREAK

CHEATER

CLOBBER

There are no animals in the dorms and the mattress is covered in plastic and D#1 has plastic mattress cover on top of that and their bedding was clean. I thought of that since her roommate is from Panama and had her stuff in storage all summer, but she said she cleaned it again before she used it.

Stella, you do not need animals to get fleas. they reside in the grass, they just hop aboard the animals and that is how they get into the house. They could hop on the 2 legged animals as easily.

How about red bugs? are there areas of tall grass around where bugs could lurk?

Whatever, I do hope they get better soon, itchy stuff is no fun.
