My sister's and I have just had my mother over for the week. It was lovely to see her and we are ever so grateful that she makes the pilgrimage every now and then but I think that was probably the last time she will travel across the border. At 81, I think she has well earned the right to have us come to her. She likes to try and come over whenever there is another great-grandie born and this time, it was to meet the latest addition to our tribe, my niece's son, Zeke.

Made my own. Bought a baseball cap and glued cardboard flaps on the sides. Works great and cheap.

Mum has never had a license! I remember the story of Dad trying to teach her to drive before they were married. Once out on the road and he never offered again and she never asked so she is terribly reliant on others for transport. This time, one of my sis's had gone over to spend a week in Adelaide and brought Mum back with her. She then spent the week playing musical beds and flew home yesterday.

My FIL is in his 80's. His driving would scare the hair off an ape. Speeds, tailgates, etc. and thinks other drivers need lessons.

Well, thank you very much Becky for helping me lose yet more time but I can hear those laundry baskets groaning from here. Uniforms to be gathered and washed, loads to be hung out, dry wash to be brought in, folded and sorted. Hang on, didn't I do all that last weekend???
You take care of yourself Becky, its been great chatting. ps Could you post a warning every time your FIL is on the road!!!

Won't ride with him anymore. The last time I rode with him, laid down in the backseat so that I wouldn't see anything. The last thing I remember is him doing 80 mph and less than 5 feet behind the driver in front.

Becky, sorry you had trouble with the tropicalglen website. I'm the one that posted it. It was recommended by a friend, and neither he nor I have had any problems. So do you think someone hacked the site?

Jane, it's not your fault. Not blaming you in the least. The next day, I went to the library and the site was down. I haven't checked it since.

Morning all, anyone still about? I just put the coffee on, so come and have a cuppa.
A very good morning for hot anything, temp outside is 42, our coldest morning of the fall. House temp is following along, now at a chill 60 degrees, but I am resisting turning on central heat, not YET. This is just an early cool snap, and will be warmer today than yesterday, by tomorrow we shall need AC in the daytime again. I do not like to run both in same day, just funny that way heheheh. I think I might go and bake something. We have not had muffins in a while. I have a cake mix, buiscuits always appreciated by hubby, decidions, decisions.

I can't believe that nobody's been around since this morning. Well, it is Saturday here.
Anybody here? The Auburn football game is making me nervous at the moment; but we've just gone to halftime. I'm okay now. No more pacing (in my mind); no more jumping up and down (really).

Cyndi...I understand your angst while watching your football team...hope it came out as you wanted...my Penn State team won big today, yet even though they were playing well and had a big lead at halftime, I didn't want to announce it and jinx it...Oh what lives we lead as fans....wouldn't want it any other way!

June, Having caught up on the recent postings, I see that you are undergoing back problems. I really hope that the back stretching is helping...I understand that its good...but should you decide that you need surgery...please don't abandon the idea out of hand....much can and is being done toady that leads to greater comfort. My hubby has had back problems since his early 20's. He swore that he'd never have surgery because they couldn't be sure it would work and was so dangerous...yet at 81, he has had surgery and is doing very well. He also has diabetes, which has hindered his recovery by playing havoc in some areas...but the back surgery itself, has been successful. Just listen carefully and read as much as you can...I do wish you a pain free future...or at least one that's more comfortable than you presently have.

Mary and Rola, enjoy your lovely spring day today! We had a nice warm fall day today here, no more cold at night, just cool now.
I did a dirty job today, but should be over for a couple of years. I had to defrost my freezer. I did not buy a frost free when I bought it, and I should have. Al helped and it did not take a couple hours to get done. He was the wringer of wet towels hehehe. Only thing I have undone still is to wash the towels and cloths I used to contain the water that dripped! Save that for morning, so I can hang them out.

Hello Everybody. Anybody?
MizT: We lived in Auburn for a little over three years while my husband finished his degree. I fell in love with Auburn, with Alabama, with the Tigers with everything about the area. Unfortunately, with him in the Navy, we were never able to get back. Oh, by the way, we won 8-7. WAR EAGLE.
