So, Steve did not get a chance to answer a question. ever since rolanda told me about Australia having a mandatory voting requirement, I have been meaning to ask her but always forget. So i am asking you instead.

what is the penalty if you fail to vote in election?

Not sure how much the fine is.
You don't have to vote, you just have to show up and get you name marked off the list.

You get a fine, it used to be about $50 but I think its probably double that now, if not more. There has been an increase of people not voting, either due to apathy or protest. We have till 8pm tonight to be registered.

Steve, good to chat and maybe I can figure out times again come November, after everyone makes the change, I did find a website showing correct Aussie times by zone, I need to see where I put that link.

enjoy the producing of clean clothes Gail!! Consider it a blessing, cause you have clothes and water and electricity. It is supposed to help you get through a grungy task, but never worked long for me heheh By the second load, all the joy has worn off.

Been a spell since it rained at my house! but we are not as short on water as many places around are. Grass is brown , but frost will , or should get it soon, so i did not water any. Would be nice to have a rain though, and a slight possibility today and tomorrow, hope it comes.

Julie, it is cooler, still warm for October, Mid 80's again today. We did have 3 nights of cool seasonable weather, when it got into the mid 40's at nights. but back to around 70 at night now, so I still have AC on day time.

June, I have been thinking about Laura quite a bit. Is she doing better? At least she isn't dealing with severe food allergies. Recently read about a 10-year-old in England who can eat 6 foods. They're hoping they can gradually introduce others, but he spent many years before it was diagnosed as food allergies that were causing his problems.

My back has been a bit better the last couple of days. The stretching on the rack seems to be helping. Also I had Laura yesterday and the medication seems to be kicking in and she wanted to eat. Generally does not want to eat sweet things like cakes, biscuits lollies etc but yesterday she even ate the plain biscuits she was feeding to the cockies.(Have you ever know a two year old who spits out chocolate?)

Julie, I read about that also, and my second thought was, oh the poor Mom! I had a child allergic to food coloring and cafien. THAT was bad enough! Espically at age 3, 4, and 5 and all the birthday parties in her day care nd kindergarden!

Just returned from visit for a few days with daughter, SIL & not-quite 2-year-old grand (who is talking up a storm). Our grand has allergies to milk, milk protein & eggs, so food has been quite restricted; is on the small side, but doing well and can NOT eat chocolate. So, June, there are at least 2 2-year-old who don't eat chocolate.

June, glad your back is better, that is a good sign treatment is working. Also happy to hear Laura is eating again. NOPE, most children do not spit out chocolate!

Still have some more sessions to go. Not sure how many and he is slowly introducing some simple exercises. I must be diligent and remember to do them. Julie do not be like me and let the slight back aches etc go unchecked and then they become a big problem. It seems just doing the right exercises early to strenghten the back muscles can make quits a difference.

Julie, I can imagine your daughter does a lot of cooking to find foods for your grand! So many prepared foods have milk or eggs in them!

June, I've been told that strengthening "core" muscles & abs can help with the back. I have belonged to a gym/health club for a couple years, but do mostly water aerobics, due to bad knees. Hopefully, it is helping.
Yes, MizT, daughter does quite a bit of cooking & must be EXTREMELY diligent with play group & outings. Seems like everyone in contact with her child receives a 3-page list of ingredients not allowed. We never got the list, but only have fed our grand when at daughter's home, or when family visit us, so I guess she feels we don't need the list - or maybe forgot she didn't give it to us.
