Had Laura today. Would not eat much or go to sleep.
How do 2 1/2 year olds work out that if they bang on the door and yell out that they need to do a big p*oo when they do not that they will be let out of their room.
Off now . Night all

GOOD MORNING SUDOKULAND
Popping in to put on the coffee, and then back to bed for me. the last of the storms are exiting my area, it has been a wakeful night for us here. No damage to our property, but a lot of water fell, ran across the yard. No puddles, to much of a slope, but I had a shallow river running through. I hope this rain fills the ponds and streams. would be nice if it raised the levels in the dams, too.
You ladies were talking humidity. Ours was 90% and better, with dew points in the mid 60's, Now that is humid!

Miz T I am so glad that you didn't fair too badly in the tornadoes that sprang up across the south. I was concerned when I saw the extensive damage. The same storm system is headed our way, but without the same intensity. Currently we have light off and on drizzle, some mild breezes and temps at 67 degrees.....crazy weather this year.

I would have thought the humidity would effect clothes drying Rolanda. I guess if the temp is high enough, they dry anyway! All I managed to get done were the towels etc that were catching the rain sneaking under doors etc

not tropical here Rolanda - but days of over 90% humidity before the rain hit left my clothes not feeling dry even after a day on the line

See Tricia whispering (Psss, Suzy, Rolanda is a wimp, when it comes to humidity. Her clothes dried so fast cause the humidity was somewhere around 20% between 6 and 7 last night! Highest it got all day, when the temp was down, was 65% humidity. I do not think she is accustomed to REAL humidity! We should remind her not to visit you or me in summer)

MizT, I can't believe how much I listen to the news these days. When I heard that tornadoes were crossing America, I listened intently for where and when I heard Alabama, I too thought instantly of you. I am pleased they missed you but very sorry to hear of the 50 killed.

Hello again.. been without power for 2 hours.
back to humid conditions.. here in Perth, we have dry heat..
when there is a little bit of moisture in the air, humidity, it hits like a ton of bricks, and yes it is uncomfortable, and yes can still get my washing dry,
(unless it is extremely high % of moisture, like if there is a cyclone hanging around in the NW)
unlikely my washing will dry as quick today with the rains.

Rolanda, I hope your humidity is more to your liking today. I just had to tease you a bit.
Really low humidity here lately, low for us, and I feel so dried out. Can walk outside and my lips dry in minutes. I am hunting chap stuck! Drinking bottles of water, but I do like the "no sweat". Well, actually sweat that evaporates, so not wet and drippy.

Hi everyone. Just a "drive-by" post tonight.
MizT, have you ever tried Rosebud Salve? Great stuff. It lasts a long time and has a faint smell of roses. My mom got me hooked years ago.
Rolanda, try putting a dish or pan of ice behind a fan and sit in front of it. Growing up we didn't have ac and used to do this to get cooled off. Doesn't last long, but helps for a bit.
Suzy, should you be doing all that awful stuff so soon?
Gail, glad you were able to catch up with your nephew. I'm sure your parents appreciate having someone come in to help.
June, our storms didn't last long, but had vivid lightning and downpours. This winter weather is very strange for Ohio. The temps keep going up and down. Today it got up to 62 F (17 C) with rain and by Sunday our high is supposed to be 19 F (7 C) with snow.
Now off to bed with me. Hope everyone has a great day/night.

Becky, I thought Mum would be resistant to having 'help' come in, being from the old proud school of thought. But it was necessary for her to have that bit of a hand and she is most grateful for the assistance. The service is not much but just means that Mum and Bill (dad) just have to wash clothes and do the dusting instead of having to worry about the floors. Of course, it also gives them a new person to talk to as well!

Becky's avatar and her love em and leave em post is who I was referring to. I can't remember who the character is.
They seem to be managing meals wise. They are elderly, so don't eat much anyway but now Mum is better, she has been cooking roasts etc so things are back to normal in that area. They have their set routine for food, both have a big bowl of porridge to start the day, then for lunch Mum has her fruit and Bill has a sandwich. Dinners are the usual fare, meat and three veg or a variation on that theme, maybe a Sag Bot or Stir fry.

Do you have a number you can contact at the school to see whether the bus got away at the right time? Maybe the school might be able to ring the bus driver if he/she has a mobile.
