If people could only feel half of the love I feel for my dogs, there would be no shelters. The love an animal gives is so wonderful and honest.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and wishes for today. This interview won't actually get me a job, just make me eligible to apply for one. What? you say. I was given 6 months interim approval to teach casually, this interview converts that to 5 years, within which time I must provide evidence of competence or I won't be able to teach anymore.

Greetings friends. today I rode with hubby to his treatment, so I could go to wal mart while he was busy with THE MACHINE. He was to phone me if I was not back when he finished. I was checking out when the phone rang, I would say that was good timing.
I returned and got another auto charger for my cell phone. Daughter got it for me for christmas, it LOOKED like it would work, but nope, only close. I hope the new one will work. Even if we had a power outage, with the auto charger, I could keep phone charged. I have become addicted to my phone. They taught me to text message, only way Joy will communicate almost. hates the phone, loves to text.
Joy is back in FL, and close to her home. she hated to go, but ws wanting to get home to make arrangement to move back. I hope it all works out for her some way or other.
I cannot get warm tonight, not sure why, but just cold to the bone. I think my trip out was more than i should have done, but we needed a few items, colas, half and half for my coffee, more coffee, things ya just could not do without.

We kidded Joy about shopping for the best dinner nightly. Last night I text her this message: Pork tenderloin, roast carrots and potatoes, corn, applesauce and bread pudding. Her anwer? I will be having dinner with you guys tonight hehehe.
We got caught in a traffic jam coming home today. An auto accident with injuries. Two ambulances coming by were the first clue.
I read 3 pages, and now cannot tell you one thing except everyone was wishing Suzy well in her interview. I could not make head o=nor tail about what that interview was really for, ut hope it goees well non the less.
I am having shivers. NO fevor, just shaking violently. I think I should not have done this outtinng. Hummm, have i said that before?
What's for dinner tonight? We have chicken and pork leftovers, think it will be chicken, steamed squash, and what ever leftover veg in fridge.
Hugs to all and will chck back in later. behave yourself, ya hear?

I'm having my favorite meat tonight... corned beef, with potatoes, salad and apple pie. I think I earned it.
Tomorrow morning, I'll be feeding hay to my neighbor's cattle, since I have a tractor here now. That's one thing I like about the country... people help each other. I do things for them, they do things for me.

Suzy, glad the interview went well. Still keeping my fingers crossed that you will get a permanent job. Also glad that thing seem to be going well with Ebob. Like someone else said, she may have realized it is not easy in the "real world" and decided the best place to be is at home.

I'm back!! It was like a test - what does behaviour management look like? What ICT would you use to encourage collaborative work from your students? Bla Bla bla. She must have liked me because she helped me when I got stuck - and I have FULL APPROVAL to be a teacher. Of course I am classified as a Graduate Teacher and have to work to become Professionally Competent within 5 years. MizT, I'm not surprised you didn't understand it, I have said all along that working out the system on it's own is so hard that if you can do that you should be handed your qualification without any further schooling.

eea, your dog comment is particularly poignant today. My brother and his family spent all day yesterday sobbing and holding onto their 'baby' while he died. They are all heartbroken. Bro talked to Mum on the phone last night and doesn't remember doing it, he was sober, just very upset.

Gekko! It's nearly 11 p.m. I hope everyone has had/is having a terrific day!
HI, Suzy, Brenda, Broni, Theresa, Tami, Judy, June, Heidi, Nola, Vicki and eaa.
Suzy, no worries about missing a post! I'm forever reading a comment and thinking, "I don't remember reading that." Sometimes I scroll back to try to find out more information, but not always.
Suzy, how was the interview?
I'm thinking, if I'm going to help contribute to eaa's challenge, maybe I shouldn't bunch up all my comments into one or two.
June, I hope all goes well while both your MIL and Laura are staying with you! Guess you'll have your hands full, hopefully with enjoyable time together!
Heidi, I'm so glad you can borrow back your old tractor! I hope the big one gets fixed soon, especially with all the cold weather and snow you've been having - and calving rapidly approaching.
Nola, I hope the current assignment is going well! You can do it! You've accomplished so much already! You go, Girl!
Heidi, I hope you defrosted after driving the tractor back to Surreal Farm and then feeding the livestock! Hopefully you can enjoy the rest of the day!
Vicki, I hope you are having/have had a good day at work!
eaa visited again - and I missed her!

Suzy, I must admit that the system for making a person eligible to teach is somewhat confusing. Would it be this difficult if you had been an education major throughout your university studies?

MizT, it sounds like you got a lot accomplished while Al was busy with the machine! (What perfect timing you had!) It also sounds like it was quite draining on you! Too bad your return home was delayed by an accident with injuries (hopefully not serious). I hope you have been able to get thoroughly warmed and sleep well tonight! I'm glad Joy arrived home safely and wish her all the best in arranging work and a possible move back home. Sending positive thoughts! Great news that Al remembered the caps today - and that one of them works well for you! Did you help him choose?

It doesn't seem that there are ANY qualifications for teaching in Kentucky. The few teachers that I know here are poorly read... they wouldn't recognize a quote from a classic if it bit them... unable to use correct grammar or pronunciations, and extremely narrow minded.

Suzy, I'm so glad your interview went well! Was it with just one person or a committee? I'm wondering what work you will have to do to show that you have become "Professionally Competent." At any rate, CONGRATULATIONS for getting through this phase leading up to employment!
Suzy, my heart goes out to your brother and his family! What a difficult day they must have all had! It's no wonder that your B was upset and didn't remember talking on the phone with your mum!

Heidi, it seems that in many states, top graduates from university schools of education vie for teaching positions in more populated and urban/suburban areas, while smaller communities struggle to get enough applicants to fill open positions. I'm sure there are excellent teachers in Kentucky. Unfortunately, you haven't had the opportunity to meet them.

Suzy stopped my CP before, but nobody has stepped in this time.
Thanks again for keeping Nena and Jan in your prayers. They are both recovering. Please add Judith who will have her second knee replaced Feb. 3. She is more nervous about this one than the previous one (replaced 11 months ago).
Prayers for anyone who needs or wants them, including family members and friends,
, positive thoughts and {{{{HUGS}}}} for everyone.
All the best to all of you! Enjoy the rest of your day/night! Good Night and sleep well!

Suzy, thoughts going out to your brother and his family. It is hard to lose a pet. A close friend recently lost hers.
Julie, keeping your friends in my thoughts also.
Mitchell goes to high school (sob) next year. The competition is sponsored by the National Honor Society and he won't be eligible to join until middle of 10th grade. The kids did have fun and they did get valuable experience.
