Baby is not in a humicrib, but they do have a heating pad under him to keep him warm.

Rolanda, keeping a premmie warm as with a heating pad, helps them gain weight faster, did you know that? If they do not have to use much energy from food to keep up their body heat, they can use it to grow.

I AM GROWING TO HATE THAT CALF!!! He's 4 1/2 days old and still refuses to suckle. He's strong enough to turn this into a major wrestling match each time I feed him, but he refuses to drink. Tonight was the 7th time I've had to feed him through a stomach tube. This calf weighs about 80 pounds / 36.3 Kilograms, so it's hard to manhandle him.

I'm thinking of calling my Vet tomorrow to see if he has any suggestions for this problem. I can't keep tube feeding him much longer. He'll be too strong for me in another week, and I risk damaging his esophagus each time I tube him (because of his thrashing around trying to get away from me).

The most I've ever had to tube a calf in the past was 3 times. Once I'd built up the calf's strength, they've always started nursing before. "They" do say that if you're around animals long enough, you'll see it all.

Hi everyone, home from the country again - SO tired! Thanks to everyone who sent kind messages, they really do help. ♥

Dad's passing was peaceful and without pain. Mum keeps asking where he is ... Lots of travelling up and down (2 1/2 hrs each way) Everything feels strange at the moment. :(

Greetings friends. think I will post both pages till we finish off the 600 on 9A, cause I just do not know where to post.

AL REPORT, nurse said he was doing OK this morning. vitals stable, but mucus has turned bloody once again. thinner and easier to cough up, that is good, means breathing treatments working. Roger is on his way to visit at 10 and 12, I will go up at 2. Doc has not made rounds, so he will stay in ICU until she makes rounds, possibly this evening. He is getting excellent care there, so I am not unhappy. Limited visitation is forcing me to stay home and get some rest.

Cold cold over night, near freezing, but today is sunny and warmer.

Must get a bit more done here, I have dekrow some on laundry and kitchen. but more clothes to shuffle around, hang out, fold yesterdays.

Hugs to all , till later.

My pratfall yesterday did a number on my back. It is screaming at me today. Very sharp pains. I honestly don't know how I'm going to feed that calf. Of course, IH is at the plant so he can't do it for me.

I'm so frustrated with that calf that I would let IH tube him and screw it up.
