Judy - big hugs to you and your family! You'll be in my thoughts.
Suzy - I hope you DO cope better this time. There's some good advice on these pages, the best being that - one day - she will realise and appreciate you!! Honest!

Good news, Rolanda - wish you had got that on the top of the page. I didn't realise, as usual, that it was about to turn.

Rolanda, from the other page - she said everyone knows her cycle because when she's 'indisposed' she doesn't laugh at everything anyone says.

Suzy, tough love is what she needs. Let her be an "adult" and solve ALL her problems herself. She might eventually realize she does need you.

Heidi, no surprise that IH was not helpful. I hope the calf comes to his senses soon and starts to drink from a bottle.

Rolanda, great news about the baby!
Thanks, everyone, for your kind thoughts - I think the next few days will be pretty terrible, but that's the way things go ... as long as Mum doesn't do, or say, anything horrible to my sister I guess we'll cope ok ... maybe? Oh well, better get a good night's sleep ... catch you all later. ♥

Congratulation to the baby's parent and relatives. he may be small but is in the best place to get care to make sure he thrives. Three weeks sounds very early but isn't too early.
In the last 12 hours I have been informed of two pregnacies in my family. My cousin's daughter (not planned) is due in August. And my niece is due in November.
Suzy this niece is/was a bit like Dana. Thought she knew everything. Left home, didn't complete her education, got pregnant at 17, married at 18, separated got back together, tried for another baby didn't happen so started to complete her education and fell pregnant again, she is 20.
Just hope Dana can sort herself and do something with her life.

Rolanda, my brother was 3 weeks early and he is over 6 feet tall. As long as the baby is healthy, with no complications, don't worry about the size.

Rolanda, I read your post wrong because I thought he was over 3kg. Dana was 3 weeks early and she was 6lb 2 oz. Alie was 2 weeks early and was 6lb 7 oz. I think they must have had the dates wrong!

Good Morning friends, I did get a good night's sleep Mom!
I talked to Al's nurse this morning, he had a good night, his BP was improved, getting more fluids, getting breathing treatments. Doc had just come on the unit to see him. Roger is on his way up to visit. Like most ICU units, visiting is very limited, only 15 minutes at a time, only 2 people in the room, and usually every 2 hours, but they skip a couple, I think it is 6 am, 10 am, noon, 2, 4 and 6PM, and then 10 PM. I shall try for the 2,4 6 pm, cause the waiting room is not so comfy (means no recliners for us old folks hehehe), 4 hours up there will be more than enough.
Shift is at 7 am and 7 pm, they nurses are so busy that first hour, and that is why there is no 8 oclock, am or pm, visiting.
I suppose I should drag my chair over to SA10. Rolanda might be lonely in that room! Sure do wish I could take that recliner with me today to hospital

Judy, so sorry to hear of your Dad's illness being so bad. I wish for him the very best. Hugs to all of your family, seems it will be a trying time. Come tell us about it, we can listen. When things get rough, think real hard, and perhaps you can feel us surrounding you, and one of us always holding your hand.

Rolanda, Baby does seem small for just 3 weeks early. But if he has good lung function and all fingers and toes working properly, he can gain the weight. If he was truly 37 weeks gestation, possibly some malfunction of the placenta and he was not getting what he needed in the uterus, and being born, though small, would be a blessing.
Well, I must go see if my undies are dry, I ran out. Well almost. When I was packing my bag, not sure when we could get back in, I put a package of new ones in, I keep for such emergencies. If I open these, would go and buy a replacement pack just for that. Anyone my age who has ever sneezed knows why you keep extras around.

Rolanda, how wonderful the baby is here. Small but he will grow quickly.
MizT, so pleased you got a good nights sleep. Something you need to keep going. How long does it take to drive to the hospital?
Suzy, I think you will find that Ally will realise what her sister is doing and make sure she does not make the same mistakes. I did try to phone you yesterday. I thought a chat might help.
Just watched the eagles change again. Just as well we have unlimited download as I did not turn the eagles off properly yesterday before I went to bowls (we won) and it was on for over 5 hours! Ken said he could hear them 'chirping' on my computer!

This is a rough time. I know. Just being there for him so he knows he's not alone is a great thing. Your mother is hurting and scared and will probably say things she doesn't mean. Try to make everyone else realize that, and see that it isn't about them, it's about your father.

I'm moving slowly today. I have to go back outside and feed the tube calf, then feed hay to the cows, then bury yesterday's stillborn calf. It's barely above freezing outside, with a combination of rain and snow flurries descending from the clouds. And it hurts SO much to pull on my muck boots over that broken foot.

Heidi, so sad about the stillborn calf. I do hope that is the last of the sad surprises for this years calving. Hope your foot can get better, that tube fed calf is doing a number on an already sore, injured foot. How many more cows to deliver? How long will you continue to tube feed that calf fore giving up on it?

I may not go up to visit today. Bit of a tummy problem here. there are not enough bathroom facilities the first half of the way up, in case I need them. Remember, I live in a very rural area. Besides, unless Al gave me this bug, I do not need to be around him. Might give him tummy wog again, he does not need that. His brother said he looks good, sitting watching TV, color better, getting feedings now, did I say that already?? forget whom I have told.

I have no idea how long I will try to force feed that calf. I've never had to do one this long. In the past, by this time, they have either been drinking from a bottle, a bucket or have died. This guy refuses to do any of the three.

Spring took a holiday once again, after the storm that caused the flash flood yesterday it has turned cold again. Temmp has not made 50 today, high so far is 46, and damp, cloudy, windy, cold 46. Spring back by first of week. I am wondering if our county had spring break this week, always turns cold for that. But I saw school buses yesterday, so not all counties are out, doubt ours is too really.

I'll try, MizT.
Calf has been tubed again, cows have been fed hay and all the birds have been fed and watered. Now I have to go to the store for dog and cat food. It never stops, but what else would I do with my time?

The temps are ugly here, too. It hasn't gotten over 37 today, with a fine mist with flurries. The mud in the pasture is over a foot deep in the high traffic areas. UGG!!!

Brenda, I asked Dana if the move meant she was leaving school and she said only if she could keep going to TAFE to finish her nursing course. Hubby came home from work yesterday after I told him and we went over town for coffee - guess who we saw hanging around with friends at the time she should have been at TAFE?
June, congrats on your bowls win! I must have been out with hubby when you called and I haven't called anyone myself so didn't hear the funny ring tone that tells me there are messages - I'll have to educate hubby and Alie about that..
My count says 3 posts to go - I reeeaally hope this doesn't turn out to be a topp.

MizT, I'm sorry you are unwell, but not sorry you will get a day of rest! I know you don't mind doing all of the stuff you have to do for Al, but I also believe it must be exhausting!!
Theresa had to give up the internet so she could help out her daughter, but her daughter still has it??? I don't like to be judgemental but I think there's something wrong with that picture.. unless it's a different daughter, then I take my nastiness back!!
Heidi, I hope you have a good calving day today.
