Weekend away was great.. we left home around 4.00pmish on Friday afternoon, and got home Monday 1.00pmish.
Jarrahdale is about 50 miles South East of the city in the Darling Scarp.. takes us about 40 mins drive from home.
The weather on Saturday was awful, thunder, lightening, heavy rain, not so much wind as in the city.
Have photos.. which I need to to put on my page, when I have time.. maybe by the end of the week!!!

Rolanda, looks a lovely place to visit.
June, I would love to visit Australia at some point but at present and in the near future Richard is very busy with work and to find time even for a four day break is difficult, so until his work load decreases and we have time for a long holiday we have to stay close to home, which is a shame as I would love to travel and meet up with friends from on here.

Something has changed in my house - d2 is singing all over the place, and loudly. Seems to have coincided with the application to enter the Eisteddfod... maybe it upped her confidence... it's amazing how small things can make such a big difference.

All this talk of travel!!! I was in England in 1988 - at least I sat in Heathrow Airport for 6 hours waiting for a connecting flight, does that count?

SECOND and last try for tonight.

Ro9landa, is that stillhappening, the time out, but the message shows up anyway. Same happened to me last time I was posting.

Busy busy day here. I spent time this morning looking up to see what my new boatload of houseplants are named. I have a friend, works in a shop that has a florists department. They have all these cute pots of small houseplants, think mini dish gardens or specimen plants, and the head of the florist dept told her, get rid of them. So, I became the trash bin hehe. some are a bit worse for wear, shop worn, leggy, but with a bit of tender loving care I might so something with them. I found a few of them in photos online, because none of them had care tags on them. I have an even half dozen cyclomen, striped Dracena, 3 kinds of philidendron that share a pot, a gerber daisy that looks sick with powdery mildew, Only one who looks really sick, and 3 brome. . . forget how to spell it. probably a couple I have forgotten. therre was a box of these things. Friend once kept them herseof, but got tired of caring for house plants and her hubby ran over any she put in the ground, with either his truck, his motorcycle or the lawn mowers.

So, first day it is a bit cooler, or I wake up early enough to beat the ehat, I hope to repot several of these and find them good homes on my porch, in the shade.

also did grocery shopping today, new store, but that will have to wait for another day. I am a tired pouppy tongiht, and off to bed for me. see you later.

Sad week. My best friend buried her husband this afternoon. She's always known he wouldn't live to a ripe old age, but this is going to be very hard for her.

I've been away for a bit but hoping to catch up in the next few days, but only for a few days because Hubby and I are off to Port Macquarie on Wed 11/6 until the following weekend for our 20th anniversary. There's so many pages I need to read - hope all my SA4 friends are well.
Note - The chicken is back!

I've been trying to persuade Marylinn to visit us on SA4. I told her she'd always find a friendly face and a shoulder to cry on here - so if I'm not about, I know you'll all make her welcome.

Sad week. Rudy is no longer my dog.
I never could contain him.
The neighbor's 100lb. Lab wanted to kill him and tried a couple of times. This caused conflict with good neighbors of twenty years.
He growled at a little girl down the road who gave him a MilkBone and then tried to get it back.
He went for the yard man's heels to bite, but Elvis turned around in time. (Elvis looks like Kobi Bryant.)
I couldn't think of any solution except to have him put down. A friend who lives waaaaaaaay out in the country offered to take him, and I let her. We'll see...

Also I hope to meet up with Elise form Port M for coffee while I'm there - will take pics!

Oh Ruby, it has been a terribly sad week for you.
I am very sorry to hear about Rudy, but I am glad you were able to find a place for him to go. Waaaaay out in the country sounds like the ideal place for him to be.

Ah, Ruby - sorry about Rudy.

We had to give our dog away late last year after she insisted on spending mosts nights howling like a wolf! She was mainly German Shepherd but I've never had a dog howl like this - and once she worked out that we would get out of bed to quieten her down, that was the end. She did it all night, every night. She had to go. We gave to to an acquaintance who was to take her to a rural property. We haven't checked up on her because if she's been put down, we don't want to know. Best to assume she's settled and is happy.
