Got a few jobs done over the weekend. Finished the garden out the front, cleaned out the fridge and a few draws, got some ironing done but not put away yet! Must get into the pantry.
We also had a Maggie Beer Recipe of Braised chicken, honey and figs for dinner. Yum.

But you were busy painting Gail. I have a couple of rooms that I have started painting and not finished. Even the pooter room I did two half walls before Christmas and have not done any more. So the walls are three quarters light green and the new paint is a pale yellow! The jobs that were done today were well OVERDUE! I have lots of surfaces you can write on too.!

Susan, your photos are unbelievable! Not just mess, but nasty smells, mould ... yuk!
Suzy, your husband would get on well with my son - I think I've mentioned some of his exploits, as he tried to scare me to death!
Gail - of course I remembered it was my birthday (er, yeah!) I just didn't know that you knew! After all, you tend to lose track after the first (-) decades ...
June we have also worked like ... people who work a lot ... this weekend! Got so much done I'm just amazed - it feels good! Broke out in a few itchies, but not enough to worry about - Hooray! Started cleaning the garage - throwing out a lot of stuff my son left in there -if he hasn't touched it in 3 years he obviously doesn't need it!

Viv, if they are happy so be it.
June, not much longer before Keith and Lynne get up here, but such a short stay. BTW they want to spend time with their friends not look at what you have not dusted hehe!
OK got distracted and lost the rest of what I wanted to say.

IT IS SNOWING IN ALABAMA

I got up for that trip to the little room, and heard something falling. Ice mixed with snow. Rooftops are covered, tops of our cars. Not much on the grass, more where grass is long, keeping snow up away from the still warm soil. snow possible till mid afternoon, we might actually see ground covered by then.

OK, enough for the weather report, I think I hear my bed calling me again.

Viv, I have to echo Gail's thoughts. They will drive Kim away, and miss out on so much. I think if my mother refused to acknowledge my future son-in-law and grandchild, I would want to cut her off. Myrtle sounds like a silly woman.
Suzy, the difference between Gail / me and you on such t-shirts is that we've given up. We're dealing with our youngest being teenagers. You're just starting to go through it. They will wear you down in time. Time for you to start practising nailing jelly to a tree. hehe

Yes Judy, all except for the recent movie. Hated Zaphod Beeblebrox's second head. I actually prefer the crummy, low budget one from the TV show.

Good Maen, Sudokuland. It is still snowing, the sky is very leaden and grey, could snow all day from the looks of it right now.

Funny Kitty Story, from AL. Last night, he was out in the dome recording some music for a friend, music that friend's band had previously recorded live some years ago. He had both kitties out there with him, and worked very late. When he came inside, it had already started to snow, huge light floating snowflakes that were melting when they hit the ground.

Because he is a good kitty daddy, he wanted to be certain both kitties came into the house, so before he opened the door, he picked up Scooter. The plan was to close the door and then pick up Screech. Screech did not cooperate. she ran out into the yard. When the snowflakes hit her in the face, she started looking up at them and trying to dodge them! Al locked up the dome, and came on to the back porch. When he got there, Screech was only half way across the back yard, still zigzagging, trying to run between the flakes. He said he almost dropped Scooter he was laughing so hard at this silly kitty!

This morning, neither of the kitties are one bit interested in going outside.

Heidi, we have 2 inside cats, Scooter is the mother of Screech. I found Scooter for Al when we lost our previous cat, right after his open heart surgery. Scooter was an early bloomer, matured way fore we expected it, and had a litter of kittens. She was soo distressed when we started giving away her babies, we let her keep one. I think now she wishes we had not hehehe.

Scooter has a little stub for a tail, born that way as were about half her siblings, I am told. It must be a dominate genetic mutation, all 4 of her kittens had stubs for tails. One male was totally tail less. We had Screech spayed fore she could reproduce, her sister did not survive to adulthood. Of course we know nothing about the kittens fathered by the 2 boys or if they were neutered. It would have been an interesting genetic study to see if all their kittens were born tailless.

One of the 3 cats I was just given has a stump tail. She's also the fattest cat I've ever seen.

None of my kitties are fat. Screech looks chubby, cause she is short, from front to back legs, and very fluffy. They are outside enough, hunting and climbing, that they are not fat. I leave food out for them, they eat what they want and do not overeat.

Now when she was younger, Screech had issues with food. She was the runt of the litter and her much bigger brothers would push her away from the kitten food. I think she was afraid someone was going to take her food and so she overate. Now at age 6, she has learned, if her dish is empty, all she has to do is tell us, it will be refilled for her eating pleasure hehehe.

Good morning everyone.
Renae arrived safely,or did I already mention that.We had 11 for tea and it was just great to have the family home together.
The fun starts now, their cat has been locked in the computer room since they arrived and my dogs have discovered something is in here. They are growling and yapping under the door and I'm trying to not wake the girls up.
Be back after reading.

HI NOLA! I hope the dogs and cat can be slowly introduced to each other and learn to get along. If not, should be a busy household trying to keep them separate! Glad you have your family all together and hope you continue to enjoy it. How long will they be there??

Snow has stopped, think we have seen the end of it now. Temp is still 32* ( 0*C) so it might stay around a while.

Phantom must have stayed under the house to keep warm last night. He was up on the deck when Al came in from dome this morning, and hungry. Al fed him, told him he would be right back. so Phantom stayed on the porch waiting on him. You could tell he wanted INSIDE, lying right up against the sliding glass door. Al gets himself something to eat and figures he and Phantom can walk back to the dome and Phantom can come inside there to get warm. WRONG! Al goes out the door, phantom starts ahead of him as usual. He gets to the edge of the porch, steps down onto the top step and about 2 inches of snow, and he freezes! He will not go forward, he will not go backward, just stands there and looks at AL. So what does Al do? Of course, he picks up Phantom and carries him out to the dome.

Our kitties are not spoiled, not one bit! hehehe

Morning all!
Nola - Will there be 11 of you every night for dinner or was that the welcome home dinner? I'm glad they're home and I hope thye find somewhere quickly so they can start to settle in.

MizT - I love you kittie stories. Your cats are not spoiled at all. Computers left on for a warm place to sleep, always full food bowls, carried around... Nope, normal rulers of the house.

Morning All,
Nola I never work too hard these days.I did have a Nana nap yesterday, and I pop in here from time to time.
Off to see 'Last Chance Harvey' today.
Cats are for spoiling Tricia. I just wish our cat was a bit more 'friendly'. She hates to be picked up or nursed.

We had one like that June, couldn't go near him. My favourite quirk of his: He used to meow at us for food, then meow at a stray in the tree out front to come down to eat it.

Suzy, it is not the dust I worry about. Have to clean up the boxes, mess on the floor in the pooter room (to fit people in if we start doing video links). The sun room tends to be used to store boxes.....of stuff to be sorted....so need to move a few of them. Otherwise take us as you find us! They are all jobs that I keep procrastinating over getting done!
