I just looked at the radar and hour by hour forecast. It will be raining tonight when it's time to do the fireworks. Without asking me, IH invited a half dozen people over to watch.
We also have a very nasty front headed this way. It will hit in 1 - 2 hours.
The volleyball may be called off, too.
I think Mother Nature decided to provide the fireworks show.

This has turned into SUCH a lovely day. Some low-lives tossed bags of trash off in front of our property, and trash is strewn all over. IH has been screaming at me about it, like it was my fault. I told him to look through it to try to find a name or address. Then he can press charges. That thought delighted him. So he's heading out there with my camera to take pictures first, then clean it up.

Bean, the China you saw in 1984 might be very different from what Rolanda is seeing - at least in the cities. We're looking forward to pictures, when you get time.

Heidi, I hope your day shapes up better than it has started. Since IH invited the guests, will he be responsible for cleaning/organizing/food prep so you can go to your earlier party? I'm glad your suggestion of finding the identity of the trash-leavers motivated him to get out & hopefully clean up after he gets the photographic evidence!

Ahhh, Heidi, is it universal that if anything goes wrong, it is the woman's fault? CAN'T be a man's fault can it? You did a good job of distracting him on this one, that should keep him busy for a while, looking for evidence.
Our rain is not scheduled till tomorrow. hope our fireworks here can go off without a hitch. We do need the rain though, so I would take it today or tomorrow. Hope you get to visit with frineds at the party whether you get to play volly ball or not. maybe it is a good thing you will not have the game, with back hurting already. Just how can you take pain pills and still function? I take even baby doses and I can be found staring at the flowers on the wall paper! Just out of it mentally.

Good Maen SA8ers!! Happy 4th of July to all!! Hope you have a safe/happy one...Darrell is working tonight. Here in Utah we also have Pioneer Day (7/24). Fireworks are legal here (as long as they don't go higher than 15 feet). We are also allowed to set them off 3 days before & 3 days after both holidays. Glad my dog (her name is Heidi--aka Dopey Dog) doesn't go ballistic when they go off. (only if they are VERY loud). This is what happens when you live in REDNECK country. We have neighbors last night who set off some loud ones, we're in an area with mountains all around so everything echos a lot! The county fair is this weekend and the fairgrounds are a couple of miles away, so I can see free fireworks from there (and the high school's show) from my backyard.

Fireworks like I shoot off are NOT legal without a special permit. Which I don't have. But nobody cares. Our local constable shoots them off, too.

MizT... I have been on strong painkillers for so long that they don't give me any problems unless I take a massive dose for extreme pain. Then I don't need to be moving anyway. But I cannot function without the meds most of the time.

Happy 4th of July to all topsiders. Hope it is a great day for everyone.
Heidi, somehow I knew the fireworks you would light would not be legal.
Cyn, good thoughts going out to Emily. I know she is scared but presents from grandma always help. Dylan had to have an endoscopy last year. He was nervous but asked the doctor for pictures of his insides. Doctor made an extra print and Dylan took it to school the next day for show and tell. Grandma bought him a gift card for being a brave boy. He picked out a watch with his money.

Tami..enjoy your volunteer work today. At least you get paid.
I had a go on the ride on and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.Haven't used one since I was about 14yrs when I mowed my parents place.
It will take some practice, but I am looking forward to it.

Morning all!
Lots of posts while I was reading.
Tami, have a great day. A bit of green can take the pain out of responsibilities.
MizT, who would have thought coffee grounds could do that!
Heidi, I hope you get your game in.

I'm back. We had to cancel the volleyball. It was raining
cats and dogs the whole time. We sat inside, ate and talked. But it was nice visiting with friends. We're talking about a make-up date in the fall.

Heidi, sorry about the volleyball and fireworks. Ours went off perfectly. The city has been rained out the last two years. The dark clouds started coming in about 20 minutes before the start. They started the fireworks about 5 minutes early. The clouds came and went. Did not have a thunderstorm.

We didn't go anywhere or do anything special today. Right now I'm hearing the end of fireworks from somewhere within hearing range. We had a wet and rainy day until around 4 p.m., so I guess it dried enough for it to be safe to set of the fireworks.
