June, what a wonderful opportunity to had to see the changes in China! That must have been an incredible experience. How creepy for your friends who felt like they were followed!

I really should check for typos before I hit submit!

Last night I took my wedding ring off while I was mixing up meat for dinner. Twice during the night I woke up dreaming about the fact I wasn't wearing it. The third time I gave up and got up to look for it. I couldn't find it! I kept going away and coming back to where I thought I'd put it. Hubby got up and I went out to confess, only to see it when I approached the bench from a different angle. All that worry because I'm careless!!

Oh Suzy...I too share that problem...my age is often showing when I put stuff down and then don't remember what I have done with it. I am now buying a new hearing aid for just that reason. I will find the other once I've spent the money on the new aid now being readied for me...that's life...no major problem since I needed a new spare anyway...however I was not in the market to spend the big bucks that it has cost me just now.
Thanks to all for stimulating my memory...I came on the site to comment about the wonderful China report from Bean...I really enjoyed it so much, and then my mind just took me into a totally different way...that's what happens when your mind becomes so stimulated by so many different things and you cant keep up with all that you want to say...even now.I know I had something else to add to this post...but can't recall now....craft!!!!

Mitchell was 5 months old when Tiger won his first green jacket. Mitchell actually seemed to be paying attention to the tv. He was wearing a green one-piece outfit with a golf ball on the chest and a big golf ball on the tushie.

Glad the ring turned up Suzy. I was imagining someone going crunch with their teeth when eating your prepared meal.
The bird was flying fairly freely today so I opened the door to let it out........and in came all its friends and relatives. Food and shelter on offer!!. Anyway they have now all gone and I have closed the door. Just have to clear up the guano.

Taking some friends out for a nice lunch today. I think it will be somewhere near the water. Just have to put the sheets and towels on the line and then get ready.

June, just to make sure we are on the same page, a tushie is the part of your body you sit on. It is just a cuter way of saying it. Have fun cleaning up all the guano.
Suzy, I also had a vision of someone finding your ring in their food. I am glad you found it.

I have developed a cough over the weekend. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow. It could be an interesting day at camp. I feel fine, I am just coughing. I am going to say good night and go make some hot tea. My mom told me to drink tea for my throat and I always do what my mom tells me.

Good maEn SA8ers!
TTT: hope the cough gets better.
Suzy: I am a creature of habit (especially with jewelry!) I put my rings in a tray on my dresser ANY time I take them off...
I am having problems with my main pooter...the monitor won't turn on now...Told Darrell that I'd rather just use my laptop...if I have to do any updates or backup to my pooter, I have to remember to do it on the laptop too...All my Mary Kay customers are in both places, so why do double work????????

Good evening all! Busy weekend but no rain. Can't catch up since I can't find my glasses. Good thing I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow. Bryana recognized the songs at the REO Speedwagon & Styx concert. I knew she would. She said it was good. We went to see Transformers this morning at IMAX. It was as good as the first.
Hope everyone is well and Heidi didn't hurt anything during contact volleyball.
My mom is stopping by tomorrow on her way to see Niagra Falls. The house is a mess so I'll be busy straightening up after the doc. Hope to catch up soo. Take care!

The first nest of babies should hatch in 3 or 4 days. The second pair hasn't finished laying. Once they have a full clutch, they'll take turns brooding the eggs which hatch in about 15-16 days. Pair #2 has laid 3 so far. Pair #1 is brooding 6.

Just doing a fly bye to post the rolalogue...will be back later to read and catch up...
This morning Rola and Co was heading off to see the Terracotta Warriors after breakfast… in fact she may still be there seing as it is only 11.30 over there. The discovery of the Warriers certainly put Xian on the map. It is a sight that no photo’s can ever do justice to. They really have to be seen to be believed. I believe they have excavated a lot more since we were there. They are then heading back to the city to see the Drum & the Bell Towers. In the evening they will fly (7:20pm - 9:10pm) to Shanghai and get some much needed rest ready for a big day tomorrow.

I've seen a lot of photos of those warriors, but would LOVE to see them in person. The sheer scale of that army has to blow the mind. And every one is an individual!

Heidi...yes, it was indeed a trip of a lifetime.
Tricia I am pondering your question...will answer you in due course..
Thanks Nola, Tami, Julie, June [& anyone I've missed] ... glad you enjoyed my ramblings about China.
June...that is exactly how we felt when we were over there...and I don't think we were being paranoid! There were some things we were definitely NOT meant to see and I even had a gun waved at me for pointing my camera in a direction that they were not happy with!

Julie I am having trouble getting the scanner to work...I'm going to return it...think it is faulty. Have had great fun going thru slides...boy...have I got some 'hotties' for you...LOL...I used to have LEGS [and not tree trunks] once... even tho they are short ...well, I mean to say, they only have to reach the ground when it is all said and done... they were once voted the shapeliest legs in school...

I want to be your mum's friend Suzy...and yes, you were a little slow...we all were!!

Still reading....

well I am all caught up!!

Mama...an overstimulated mind is me alright...I have real trouble turning it off at times... that is why I love to write so much... it sort of gets it out and lets me move on.
Just as well I am into deep meditation [self hypnosis] or I wouldn't get any rest!

Good luck with those eggs Heidi.
Heidi the size of the army is incredible... it really is. To stand and look and to note that every one is an individual is mind blowing.

You have all encouraged me so much that I am going to indulge myself and ramble on some more about China...

Back in '84 I had a lot of trouble deciding on where I wanted to go...I really wanted to go to Guilin and check out the area that Rola has been visiting but we could not afford to combine that with a trip down the Yangtze...[money and time issues....I couldn't bear to be parted from my baby, German Shepherd, for any more than 3 weeks...]

I wanted to see the famous gorges before they were flooded by the dam. I am so glad we did. I watched a doco recently about the effects of damming the river and the fate of all those wonderful little villages that we visited... It is sad to think that all that history and culture is now under water...I know they moved the people on and resettled them but culture is so bound up with time and place... it cannot just be transplanted.

Traditions can be maintained but something is lost when the origins of that tradition is removed. We see that time and time again in such a multi cultural city as Melbourne. At times when people try to settle and maintain their customs and traditions... some things just don't gel or make sense when removed from their founding context and this can lead to discontent...

Waffling again.... now for coffee...
