It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Good one Heidi - I got more than my fair share in SA7 so I'm happy for anyone to beat me to them this time...

Heidi, first you don't want TOPPs, then you do ... Please, I'm easily confused...
You're messing with my HEAD!
And now you've got the Auntie Jack glove again...
Aaaargh!

Thanks Suzy and Tricia for keeping me in the loop...
I'm not going to drag up my comfy chair because I am having trouble staying awake at the mo... This will be comfortable enough for a Bean...

Trying to avoid TOPPs was for SA7. I wasn't very good at it, either. I wound up with 10 TOPPs, 9 from not paying attention. The first one was eaa's fault. Speaking of the furry nosed one, I wish she'd get her pooter fixed and come back. I miss her.

Hey Bean - where you bin? Your comfy chair looks great.
Susan has posted on Easy so she'll probably come across here soon.
eaa - Edna - where are you now? We all miss you - hope your pooter is fixed soon.

Heidi, change is a very dangerous thing! However, I will do my best to beat you to the TOPPs! I've got the taste for it now, and I'm going for it! I will try to give you a run for your money (or anyone else's money) Shall I fling down my gauntlet, or just puff out my ample chest a bit, (Ta-daaa!) then slink away? ;)

Gail, thanks for letting us know you are leaving town. I hope you and your family are safe and this is just precautionary.

Heidi, you can have all the TOPP's you want. I will keep track, but I am not going to try for them. If it happens, it happens. Time for some new names to be at the top of the TOPP list.

Since none of my friends are around I am going to tuck myself into bed or I risk falling asleep at my pooter. Night all. Talk to you tomorrow.

I always take the high road and think I'm not going to race for TOPPs but when you do notice that there's only a couple of posts to go, it's hard to resist the temptation. Then you get the accidental one.
Oh, well, we're all friends here so good luck in the race, Judy. Go for it!!

Meh! I was never any good at racing any way ... have a nasty tendency to run in circles (That's actually true - I'm lopsided!) Guess who was always last to be picked for teams at school...(sob)
Anyway, just a bit of fun. Now I have to go and do all the stuff I was supposed to do yesterday but forgot. Catch you all later - have a great day! :)

I don't know if anyone was/is a fan of 'Eastenders' or the old Brit Sitcom 'Are you being served?' The actress Wendy Richard who played Pauline in EE and Miss Brahms in AYBS has died of breast Cancer aged 65. Having watched EE on UKTV for many years, I must say when they killed her off in the show, I was delighted because her character was so overbearing but, as far as the actress herself is concerned, I say - RIP Wendy.

Just came back to the computer to log off before I left and found this summary - which is jaw dropping...

Since Black Saturday on February 7, at least 210 people and 2,029 homes have been lost in 78 towns.

Firefighters have tackled about 3,500 blazes, large and small, during that period in Victoria.

The finches weren't shipped today. They're gonna try next week. I don't know if I can stand the wait. This is the first pair that I won!

Gail, so glad you are being sensible today. Hope your house is OK. These northerelies blow the fire away from me, so no problems here.

Good Evening Sudokuland. Our autos will be legal, as soon as hubby attaches the new license plates. That chore finished for another year. I did get lunch out today, Mexican, yummy. Picked up 4 new books at the library, too. Al and I had a TV night, and he went to sleep, slept through most of 2 programs.

It is very windy and warm tonight, but back to winter over the weekend. Most changeable weather lately.

Suzy, you follow the news, what do you hear about the fires?

It's a quiet night (or evening in OZ)... the dogs are finishing their dinners, then I have to take a screwdriver to the hot water heater. It's acting up again. No, I don't know how to fix it. All I'm doing is opening the access panel and pushing the reset button.
I think it's days are numbered. It shuts down every few days now.

MizTricia, as Suzy doesn't seem to be around I've checked what I can find on the fires - there's not much at the moment. All schools in danger areas are closed, a lot of people (like Gail) have left already. The temperature here seems to have dropped quite a lot, though that won't necessarily effect the fire danger. Rain would be great - we haven't had any real rain for most of the year. Weather bureau says "chance of a thunderstorm" - not necessarily a good thing if it comes with lightning, as many fires are caused by lightning strikes. What we need is good, solid rain to really ease the threat.
