OK, one for the road... No-one here for one and a half hours? Must be something good on TV that I'm missing.

Good morning all! Hope everyone is well! I didn't think I would already have to catch up! Busy day today, the start of a busy couple of weeks with the 3 older ones coming and going for spring break.

June, sorry for your daughter's heartbreak. Little ones say things and forget about it, but the adult has a harder time forgetting it.
Cyn, congrats on your continued good relations with your son and his family! It must make you feel good to know that your grandies really missed you!

Good Maen Sudokuland! I am having morning coffee, won't you join me?
Heidi, hope your new finches arrive safely Tomorrow. How many will you have after their arrival? You mentioned possibility of another ice storm, is it for this weekend? Last night I heard the S word in one local forecast for our weekend. Hard to believe them when it was 66*F (18.8 C) at 10 pm when he was mentioning it!
Judy, thanks for the news report on the fires. Glad things stayed calmer. Wishing I could send you the gentle day long drizzle we are having. You need a soaking rain, not a gully washer.
Suzy, sounds like Ally enjoyed her camp. she is doing really well one handed now, it seems. How much longer in the cast?
Good Morning Stella, hope you manage all the coming and goings of the children for spring break.
Yes, I also wondered what Maryland chicken is also.

I just spent the night from H*LL. High winds, thunder, lightning, pounding rain and HAIL!!! The dogs were terrified, and piled on me, panting, drooling and shaking. No sleep for me until 7 am, then the phone started ringing at 8:45, and wouldn't let me go back to sleep. I'll try napping later.

MizT.... the finches don't arrive until Sunday night now. They had to change it, thank goodness. I was worried about having to drive to the airport AGAIN during nasty weather.
When these arrive, I'll have 6. When the others arrive (hopefully) next Friday, I'll have 8.

Heidi, somehow I thought you had more. I imagine I confused the same ones you are expecting as ones who had arrived, and these would be new ones.
On th e weather map, I saw the storm system that went through your area. It looked full of nasty weather. the tail end of it is just north of me now, Birmingham and North. I am about 40 miles south. I think it might fall on down this way fore it exits east. We could have rain and thunder later today.

Good afternoon all. Lovely spring day today. Have just got back from visiting Celia.
Had a phone call from my uncle this morning. He wanted some information on Mac computers and to let me know that my aunt had had a mild stroke a couple of weeks ago.
I was rather upset that they didn't let me know but he said it was a very slight stroke and the only side affect she has had is slight confusion over words. I will have to try and get up north to see them sometime this year

Sorry.... busy day, unfortunately.
Tell your uncle that if he gets a computer, that I highly recommend Macs. They are really user friendly, and simple to use. And as long as he doesn't program it with Windows, he won't have to worry about viruses.

MizT... the chapel across the street had a storage building next to it.... full of chairs, tables, microwave, etc. It was destroyed during that storm. There isn't even an intact chair.

MizT, I'll have one of your wonderful coffees. The one I've made myself this morning tastes dreadful. Ally will get her cast off on 18 March - 2.5 more weeks.

Brenda, sorry to hear about your aunt. Even a mild stroke is scary.
Heidi, that storm sounds pretty vicious. For the storage building to make it through the ice storm but not the storm last night... hope you get your nap later.

Well - guess I had better get my stuff all situated and get settled in.
Rola - hope you guys have great fun camping!
Gail - so happy to hear you are back home again and safe.
Brenda - I too am sorry to hear about your aunt - I agree with Suzy that it's scary. But the good news is that she may get something caught early and not suffer the devastation of a worse scenario.

Our desktop pooter froze up and has been away at the computer docs all week. We hope to have it back today. Thank goodness for my laptop.
We are looking into purchasing the property that is adjacent to our lot. It's been on the market for a long time (way over priced and slow market). We're just in the early stages of seeing what we might be able to afford. Will keep you all posted.

News story of the day - caffeine may reduce the risk of non-melanoma skin cancer. The more you drink, the less likely you are to get one. Sooooo, how many would I have if I didn't drink umpteen cups of coffee a day??????

Well, I hopefully will end with my first official CP on SA8. Got to get going as Melissa (our youngest) is coming up to visit over the weekend. Should be fun - we will play Mexican Train and eat Indian food.
Hugs and best wishes to all!

Forgot to vent! How could I forget to vent?!
Ebob is having lunch at a restaurant today with some of her friends. Just them, no adults or sisters. There was a bit of a dilemma about whether to invite one girl who is sometimes fun, but has been known to ruin the occasional party. The decision was left to Ebob with the reminder that it is harder to ruin a party when it is in a restaurant. She was invited.
This girl invited someone else!!!! She invited someone else to my daughter's birthday party which we are paying for!!!!

Heidi, the tail end of your storm is moving across just north of us. Twice already southernmost hanging parts of it have brought torrential rain, HUGE drops that sound like hail, but I checked, no ice, just rain. I have been hearing lots of thunder, storm just 5 miles north. I love watching weather maps.
well another southern bit of that storm is overhead, we have rain again. Wish I could get lightening strike data on the computer. No TV coverage, only severe t storms, no tornadoes thankfully, and TV coverage is only when there is tornado warnings.
I best shut down this puter, thunder getting closer. will check back in once it blows past.

Hey Suzy - thank goodness the computer docs were able to save our data and stuff - but I am going to be more rigorous about backing up my files.
Ebob's dilemma sounds pretty familiar. Always a tough call.

Sounds like she doesn't get very good parenting. Good for you for being so diplomatic to wait until AFTER lunch to give her your 2 cents worth!

It sounds like she doesn't know any better. I think it would be kinder to explain the etiquette rules to her. If she ignores it, THEN chew her out.
