Daughters telephoned tonight, they are in Clearwater BC for tonight on their way to Vancouver.
They love the little Smart car and love the fuel efficiency of it. It only cost them $17canadian to top the tank up after driving 350K.

Morning all!
Brenda, I am sending hugs to you. What a hard thing to have to do. Your friend is also an amazing person to think of her will (and therefore others) at a time like this.

Broni, on the off chance someone honest found your cigarettes I recommend trying something. A couple of weeks ago I realised that I had left toilet rolls at the register. I couldn't remember exactly what day I had been there and didn't have a receipt. Mum told me a story about a friend of hers who discovered a couple of months later that she had done the same thing with oil and managed to get replacements. I just went to the store, told them what I had left, and there it was written in a little book. They handed over the replacement with no questions asked. Saved me $9, for you it would be a lot more!!!

Heidi, I laughed about your phone story because I soooo identify with it. When I was on dial up I used to connect to the internet just so the phone wouldn't ring. Now I'm wireless BUT I have teenagers! Those during and after dinner calls from charities are a thing of the past as the phone is always busy then... it doesn't help during the day though.

Oh Brenda, how terribly difficult that must have been to see your friend so ill and under such circumstances. You are a great friend, I would love to have you in my team.
Vici, they were brilliant answers to Jane's survey, thank you. When I am actually here, I will go to her page and respond in kind!

Now CRAFTS has set in. I was going to say that I'd had a brain fart again, but it caused such trouble last time that I will leave it at I've forgotten everything I was going to say...

Good Evening (here), Everyone! Only have a very few minutes right now, so have only glanced at comments. Those who are ill, please get better as soon as possible! That goes especially for Brenda's friend. We need to keep sending prayers her way!
Anyone wishing to quit smoking - I wish you luck! I know it's hard, but my Dad was finally able to do it cold turkey - and without letting any of us know so we could encourage him.
Hmmmm - cruise sounds like SUPER fun, but don't think hubby would let me go alone & will need to ask him what he thinks about it. Based on doctor appointments yesterday, I may have bionic knees by then.
Brenda, sorry your daughters have had their share of misfortune and large expenses. Yellow cars are also not my favorite, but better than NO car!
Well, CRAFTs has struck & I'm out of time for now. I hope to be back later. Take care, Everyone!

I got my first car for my last year of high school. It was a strange color. One day I made the mistake of parking near a school bus and discovered that my car was the same color. Not sure what color school buses are else where but here they are a kind of weird yellowish orange. Not a good color for a student.

OH dang! Just pushed the wrong button and lost my amazingly interesting and entertaining post ... Er, hi everyone! Sorry, now you'll just have to take it as it comes.
I just looked up and the first thing I read was "sexy legs" - mmm, really must have missed something!
Hope all the flu sufferers are getting better - it sounds really nasty. Take good care of yourselves and don't overdo things. Sending virtual chicken-soup to all of you.
Read about the goings on at the get-together - laughed about the lost keys (sounds like something I would do) Glad everyone had a great time.
MizT, sorry about your carpet - yuck! Glad it's only a small piece.
And finally, I, personally, have NEVER heard myself sore! ;)

We bought a new computer chair on the weekend, and it seems pretty comfortable, but I've realised that it has a really weird smell - fairly overpowering. Hope it disappears soon (the smell, not the chair) - at the moment it's giving me a headache! Maybe that's a subtle hint that I should go do some krow!

Well, daughter, SIL and 2 grandies have the flu now too. Their Doc is sure it's swine flu but 'we're not testing any longer'. If they've got swine flu, then that's what we have too.
Oh Nice!

Just checked with son's wife - they are all fine, even though it was their eldest, Hayley, who was 'coughing and dizzy' when she stayed overnight with us 2 weeks ago, who passed it on to us. Not her immediate family, just her poor old grandparents. At that stage she was mildly sick for 3 days! Anyway, to be honest, I'd rather it got me than my kids/grandkids.

Oh Rolanda...what a BIG mistake... GOOD LUCK...
Cyn I am not surprised to hear that Dr thinks it is Swine flu... that is what I was thinking as well. Would like to know though if it actually is... then I would at least know that I am immune to Swine flu ... small consolation for feeling so appalling!
Suzy I have had the same experience with the little book at the supermarket. On one occasion they even found that someone had made an entry on the day I had been shopping in that same book...should've said that some dingbat had left a bag of groceries behind...

LOL Bean! I needed that! I'm trying to apply to be a teacher - you need a pHd in applications to do it! And the blasted web site is throwing up. I've been on the phone and they are going to call me back.

Back, and no I'm not done yet, I'm thinking about how far I am willing to travel to work....
Rolanda, it's good your appointment got pushed forward! Less time to worry about the dentist would have to be a good thing for you.
Cyn, same thing happened to my niece and brother. Assumed to be swine flu without testing, and a $70 prescription to go with it!

Swine Flu: no it didnt get us the travellers..thank fully
I was telling Zusy yesterday on the MSN on our entry into China ( the Sunday).
As a group of Australians who comes from a 'bad' S.Flu Country, we had to leave our luggage with them, and go to the Quarantine Station.
We all had to have temps taken ( themom under the arm).. Young N, moved and hers fell to the ground, so she had to have a new T placed under the arm. Lo and behold, N temp was up..
with lots of mobile calls from Aunty P to Geoff (waiting over the border for us) and Geoff talking to the Quarantine Attentdant.. trying to find out what is going on.
They wanted N to go to hospital ( in China), on her own, she refused to go, we all said NO WAY, they wouldn't allow Aunty P to go with her. In the end, Aunty P, son R and Fiancee N headed back to Hong Kong. the rest of us crossed over to China. 2 hours late.. we were too late to catch the plane to Guilin. Hung around the airconditioned Shopping Centre in Shenzhen (border town), and caught the flight to Guilin late in the evening.. it was such a long long very much a horrible day.
Aunty P and R and N.. entered China on the Wednesday, and joined us in Kunming - no problems on entry !!
