We need 62 more comments. I think we miscalculated. Will comment number 20000 be the LAST comment on page 500 and comment number 20001 be the FIRST comment on page 501?

I didn't miscalculate. I said that I was too lazy, and didn't have enough fingers to calculate it. All I want is to hit 500 pages. I'm not concerned about the additional 20,000 post goal.

I think I'll go fire up the tractor and put a small hay roll in the barn. It looks like my 2 prisoners in the barn will be here for a while.

Well, that plan didn't work. My bull decided that he wanted to stay in the barn out of the snow, and so I couldn't put the roll in there where he was. It would mean giving #9 a chance to escape. So I gave them my last half bale of hay. IH has PROMISED to drop off some more bales.

We're beginning to grasp that, eaa. I can actually count it on my fingers and toes now.

Cows With Attitude.

It's sounding like we have 2 separate races now. The race to TOPP page #500 and the race to post #20,000.

And a irr-a-sponds-a-Bull.

Well I don't think we can have one without the other.

My bull is actually very sweet tempered. I can walk up to him and rub him on the head and pet him. He was a show bull when I bought him, and came within inches of being the 2006 National Champion Red Angus bull. Unfortunately, a kid on a skateboard (not allowed in the building) shot out from behind a curtain into the show ring and scared him. He ran from the ring and was disqualified. The Judge said that he was going to be the Champion if that hadn't happened.

Some friends have nicknamed him "Marshmallow" because he's so gentle.

it sounds like That Child needed a Lick with the whip.

But he's a great bull with the cows, and has phenomenal calves.

I hope that child got a beating, and so did his parents for allowing him to bring a skateboard there.

Sooo he is Love a bull.

The might be a calming effect on the prisoners.

eaa, I like your Love-a-Bull comment! In Chicago, a professional basketball team is called the Bulls. The "cheerleaders/dancers" for them are called the "Luv-a-Bulls."

They should be called cows instead.

The prisoners are very happy to have him there.

In case anybody cares, my bull's name is NOT Marshmallow. He's SLGN Redeemer. I call him Rede for short.

What a shame that the bull was disqualified from being named national Grand Champion! That would have been such an honor for the person who raised him - AND made a difference in what he was sold for! The boy with the skateboard (and his parents) should have faced consequences!

Does Rede's presence help calm #9? Does she also have a name?

Trust me, Julie. It made no difference. He was auctioned the next day. Everybody knew he was the best. I paid a record price for him. I got really annoyed when it was published in the Cattlemen's papers what I paid and where I lived. I have been worried about theft because of it.

#9 is named #9. Only particular favorites get actual names. All the registered girls are named, as well as our oldest cow, Sassy. She was a bottle baby, and at 14 years old can still be approached in the pasture and petted.

I thouhgt "self" its getting very close to page 500 So I would Help in the Race.

A few years ago, the Vet was here working on a downed cow in the pasture. Sassy came up behind him and started licking his neck. You should have seen my Vet jump!
