Overcast, rainy morning and it is the weekend...whoo hooo! No rushing about and don't have to be anywhere.

to everyone for the warm welcome wishes. It is nice to have friends from all over the world. Have been trying to read the posts on the last few pages and it is too much to remember.

Heidi, I hope your back is feeling better soon. I am glad the epidural helps.

Suzy, my dad also roots for the Dodgers. My older son is a Red Sox fan and is hoping for a Dodgers/Red Sox series.

My plans for today are to get Ally to the competition wearing something appropriate. After that it's all up to her! She does not like the idea of shiny and that seems to be 'semi-required'. I'll settle for-not-too-every-day.

Broni, I just got home from a hard day at school. They are switching all my classes on me and I am not happy. Just found out that they are switching my lunch and planning times also. I won't be able to hang out with my friends anymore. I am going to make dinner(leftovers), have a drink and relax for the evening with my "beastie boys". Hubby has to work late tonight.

Suzy, good luck for Ally. a wonderful experience for her. Two tallented girls!!
Phillies are up 4-2 at the moment so Mama will be excited! (Hubby does a radio broadcast on Saturday morning for baseball so he was just checking all the scores). For anyone following the American baseball we know Grant Balfour who pitches for Tampa Bay.

Bummer Tami. The system is very different here. My ds school has a 6 period day and she works on a 2 week timetable. Teachers can be in the classroom all 6 periods one day, and 3 the next. I'm trying to remember how many periods they have to teach but can't for now. When I finish my paper and do my next prac I'll know for sure!!!

Time to start my day. I'll pass on the good luck wishes to Ally! She'll be pleased. I'm off to get her up, fed, showered... She's perfectly capable of doing all of these things on her own, she just has no concept of time!

Just popped in to find out the score (lucky there's still 5 games to go!) and couldn't resist dropping in here too...

Gutters Gail? From the picture on your page I think you've understated how hard it is to clean out your gutters!

Gail, those gutters and all those trees!!!!
But also important for where you live at this time of the year.
I used to get the blower on the roof to blow them out as easier than trying to fish them out with your hand. (Then got rid of the tall trees near the house)

June, I will definitely be using the blower if hubby can get it to work! At the moment, I am using the VERY heavy outdoor broom to sweep the roof and scrape the leaves and branches! over the gutters to expose the still soggy, matted leaves and dry those bits out so they will blow off. I did that bit yesterday, so just waiting on my 'spotter' to get up, to watch out for me, 'just in case'!
This is a job that has to be done, because there are saplings growing in the gutters! Can you imagine hundred foot high gums growing on our roof!
All up, there are 80 metres of guttering to clean out and 400 square metres of roof to sweep/blow! OH, that's right, forgot to mention, at it's heighest point, it is the equivalent of a double storey house! EEEEEKKKKK

Bless your cotton socks Heidi, thank you for caring. Believe me, I am veeeeery careful. Seeing as I am someone who hates heights, I stay as far away from the edges as I possibly can.
The luckiest thing about our roof is it is has very little pitch, almost flat, so walking on it is relatively easy.
