All.... I just proved that a person (not fully recovered from Mono) can sleep for hours with 3 or 4 jack hammers going off in the house. The dogs are following my lead and sleeping, too.
Since I need to stay inside with the dogs, I just decided to bake some cookies. Chocolate chip.

I've never tried sleeping with jackhammers Heidi, but I did once sleep on an old gun emplacement (rock) surrounded by 100s of other people hoping for a good seat when tall ships sailed into Sydney Harbour....

As soon as the first batch of cookies came out of the oven, IH, who had been making himself scarce, appeared out of nowhere and took off with a large handful of warm cookies. I think he smelled them 1/2 mile away.

I'm talking relative quiet. The dogs are outside barking at the cats right now. And IH is off using my tractor. (He has his own, but prefers mine).

I understand completely. When it gets too quiet around here, I wonder what is happening. My kids are always brining their friends here to play. I don't mind, at least I know where my kids are. When I was growing up, we would go out to play and not come home until it got dark. Now, I am scared to let the boys go anywhere by themselves, and I live in what would be considered a safe neighborhood.

Broni, I get an A in missing people too, playground is empty again. Well, we got my auto home, dealt with pharmacy and doctor re prescriptions I did not get yesterday. I made lunch, Now must think of something for dinner.

OH, hubby stopped at grocery on the way home to buy some colas. He came in saying, I bought you a surprise (once did that much more than he does now) He had a bar of dark chocolate! It is a no name bar, some fund raiser selling them, but it is dark chocolate, it cannot be all bad!

For those of you who no longer visit Easy...

SOME NEWS... that Ian in Sydney has been reluctant to share....

Ian's and Anne's youngest son Rob has been studying/working at a university in Germany for a few years now. Rob has just won the prestigious (and monetarily valuable) Newton International Fellowship to research bio-fuels at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom for the next two years. Well done Rob, and congratulations to all!

Tami, know just what you mean. I always know where my kids are.

Mariana, the closest we come to baking break is sticking the ingredients in the trusty break making machine!

Trivia...did you know that the colors of peacock feathers and bubbles are both caused by interference?

I'm following a path begun by googling Jim's 'nerdy' talk on his blog... this line made me think of SA.

After taking Ally to her camp this morning I decided to stop for a cup of coffee on the way home. I like to do that alone every once in a while. When I do I 'people watch'. It is fun to imagine what the lives of the people I see are like.
