LOL Julie! TOPPs always help!

Ally is complaining that I asked her to label her own clothes ready for camp. It will take me ages she says! I wonder how long she thinks it would take me????

I'm taking ANOTHER break from moving all the years of accumulated cr*p around in the basement. There's still a lot to do, but dogs need feeding. It won't be for another hour or so until I can head out to the barn to work with the colts.

I don't know if I've remembered to mention this....

We often see people taking their dogs for a walk. We also have people who take their miniature pony for a walk twice a day. I talked to them today and it seems they want her to lose a little weight before she has another foal. Ellie, the pony, is potty trained (I think they meant house broken) and works in nursing homes.

Hi All...It's after midnight here and I'm just popping in to say hi and bye...been getting things together for S.F....Meds are kicking in finally and I am now able to get stuff done so that I can enjoy my trip, but am unable to get much sleep..... Just found out that I'm being given a trip to Disney World in Orlando for Christmas...so now I have two trips to prepare for in short order What Fun that is. Still have about 8 pages of comments to catch up on...just found out that Heidi is buying pigeons and moving cr*p around to be able to feed the dogs...and Suzy's avatar was drawn by her d1 and titled crazy mom...talent in that family...think we should find a way to let her hubby know how to post her piccy....hmmmm something to ponder...must run for now....peace all

Heidi, I hope you have made a dent in the moving of cr*p. Hopefully it will be done tonight and you can give your back a rest! By now you probably have fed the dogs and maybe even worked with the colts. Remember to take some "me" time sometime this week!

Hi - and Bye - Mamacita! When do you leave for SF?

Hi, Gail! Hope all is well! How is your Mum!

Suzy, GREAT thinking "outside of the box" to solve the sticky rice situation!

I'm sorry I missed MizTricia and Mariana today. MizT, I hope all went well at the doctor! Mariana, how nice it is for the entire family to have your hubby home!

Still no word from Viv? I need to tell her something.

Viv - you just won't believe this. I just went down to our local shopping centre and happened to go into what WAS my favourite coffee shop. I ordered coffee and raisin toast which took a while coming. While I was eating it I noticed the girl in charge talking on the phone. When she got off she called the other 2 girls over to her and said to them loud enough for we customers to hear - 'Laura says that if anyone put raisin bread on to be toasted, forgets it and it burns - they have to pay for it!' I was incensed!
As Laura, the manager, wasn't there I didn't pursue it. But I feel that I have to find another coffee shop now and tell my friends what happened. I don't want to hand over my money to mean, nitpicking
Sorry everyone, I just can't believe that this type of thing is standard practice!!!!!

Viv, I do not think this sounds very fair at all, and I am sure it is not right.
If you or Ethan want to make inquiries, I have looked up a website that might help and has links to other govt departments, set up to review cases like this.

Hi, CynB! I agree! It would be bad enough if the worker was charged for the actual value of the item, as 7 cents for a piece of toast. But to find the worker for the retail price of the food item in over-the-top cruel, mean, vindictive, unfair, taking advantage of the worker.

Julie, MizTricia was here earlier today. I had a doc appointment today that turned into a really long drawn out thing. It is one of those good news bad news things. All the tests from last month came back good. I had a normal stress test, NO blockages to heart blood flow. Electrolytes good, spot on. He did change my BP meds, hoping to get rid of stomach and headache problems.

BUT I had to do something very strange while I was there. Doc said for some reason my body made and dumped a boat load of adrenaline all at once, my own private stress test hehehe. So I was at doc a long time for more tests, and then at pharmacy a long time for new drugs. AAAGGGGGGGGGGGH

I will not be around a lot tomorrow either, lots of new meds to sort out with doc and pharmacy. AND go pick up my car that is in the doc's parking lot.

OK, I think I am now sleepy, time for bed for me.

Oooh Cyn, and the only way you can say something to her is by getting the girls in trouble for saying it loud enough for you to hear!

Cyn, I think it is your duty to complain about the fact that it was said in front of customers and that you will be taking your business elsewhere.
I have done that very thing at a restaurant I was in recently. The head chef came out of the kitchen and went off his nut at someone about the state of the dumb waiter (a food lift between floors!), and that HE was not going to clean it up.
I went up to him and told him this is something that should be done privately, not in front of the customers, for two reasons. One, I do not want to watch some poor employee dragged over the coals in public, and secondly, it is NOT a good thing to let the customers know how dirty part of HIS kitchen is!

That's right - I was charged $3.50 for 2 slices which probably cost them 5c each. But docking employees even 10c is pettiness beyond words!!!

So sorry you had such a stressful day, MizT! Sleep well tonight, and hopefully tomorrow will go much better! Did Al need to pick you up at the doc and take you home? Is that why your car is spending an overnight at the doc's parking lot?

Gail, good on ya for speaking to the chef. Hopefully he realized that he was making a fool out of HIMSELF and reflecting poorly on his abilities.

Yes Gail - Because the manager, Laura, wasn't there I didn't say anything. And I would be worried about getting the girls into further trouble for saying it within my hearing. I know they should not have - but really I appreciate knowing how petty these people are. There's a coffee shop over the road - not quite the same ambience but it will get my business now.

Julie, last report I got was on Monday from one of my sisters. She said Mum sounded upbeat and had had a good weekend. Mum's oldest sister turned 85 (I think!) on Friday, so Mum and another of their sisters' went around there for lunch. I think one of the aunts was buying crayfish for them to have. Yummy!
I spoke to her on Friday, just before she was going to her sister's house, and I thought she sounded a bit flat then, but she said she had not had a good night, due to loud thunder keeping her awake. She has always been a very light sleeper and lately, it leaves her feeling very blah but she must have had a good time out, which is nice.

What I can't believe Cyn, is that the girl 'in charge' rang Laura about something so petty as a burnt piece of raisin toast and who did it!
