Multi cultural perhaps Vici? And I don't mean race, I mean geographical...

Oh Suzy - lumps and bumps...that's what happens to me when I get into the weeds!
Tami's "children learn..." got me to thinking about how important it is that we treat each other gently. I think we've all been shamed enough and I would like to strive for kindness. Not always the easiest thing to do in all circumstances, but I know how disappointed I feel when someone decides they need to take it upon themselves to correct me or chide me when usually it is none of there business. So I need to remember that it's not my business to get out there and correct (fix) everyone else.
I mean really, wouldn't any of us rather hear a kind word of encouragement and support rather than some "well intended" advice?
I believe this to be true with all my heart: Nothing is remedied by condeming it.

Suzy - I think it happens all over the world with all sorts of people from all sorts of cultural backgrounds - but I think "Children learn..." was making my point of it being multi-generational. It's hard to know something different if that's all you've been exposed to since birth. That was my experience in my family. Thank goodness I became an alcoholic so I could find recovery and find a different (kinder and more conscious) way of treating myself and others.

Oh gosh - I have been on a bit of a rant! So sorry my friends.
Must be because I'm so tired. None of it probably made much sense anyway.
OK - just gonna send you all a bunch of love and go to bed!

Missed you Vici, refreshed the page and realised by your comment that I hadn't explained myself very well....

The type of 'cultural' I was thinking of can vary from one part of a town/city to another rather than one part of the world to another. It's not about your 'heritage', it's about your surroundings. eg If your neighbours are yelling at their kids (or worse), it becomes acceptable for you to yell at yours. If you 'see' your neighbours using peaceful techniques successfully, you are more likely to try them yourself. To me that means we are not necessarily constrained by the way we were raised by our parents, but can choose a different way if we can just 'see' it. It both gives me hope, and makes me sad at the same time...

That "Children Learn" was a bit of a walk down memory lane for me too. I was lucky enough to have my GP send me to a great Shrink. I would have committed suicide a long time ago, if I hadn't died from the massive bleeding ulcers I had.

That episode you saw, Suzy, really turned my stomach. Too frequently I see 14 and 15 year old girls with babies around here, and already pregnant with another. They'd be living with the girl's mother (and other children, and a boyfriend) ,who had done the same thing. No money, no education, no future. Also no marriages and family commitments. This goes on from one generation to another around here.

Will we make it to page 400??? The time outs are not as frequent as they were at the end of SA5, or they don't seem to be...

Hi, Suzy! I think you're right about the time-outs being less frequent. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for a comment to go through, but that's worst when several comments collide on their way to a TOPP. It would be fun to make it to 400.

Just checking in to say hello. I most likely won't be back until after I return from California...I leave early Thursday, the site's Friday...but tomorrow will be filled with chores, leaving no time for Sudoku readings and comments...perhaps a puzzle or two if I'm lucky...Stay well all...Peace.

Wow, Suzy, you still have more than an hour of kid-free time! Just think how much writing you'll be able to get done. I'll go do puzzles, read e-mail, etc. for a while and wait for you to get back so we can race to the TOPP.

Suzy, were you able to do some writing? I knew it was pretty far to a TOPP, but figured no one would make it in an hour. I just hoped there would be a few more posts during that time than appeared. And now, you're gone! (Sobbing uncontrollably) How can we race if you're not here?

Well, Ladies (and Gents, if you're lurking), it is now midnight here. Have had very early mornings the last few days, and feeling like I need to call it a night. No one seems to be around to help me, and I'm not going for 13 posts by myself. Good maeN, Everyone! Have a great day/night, wherever you are!

Hi Julie, bye Julie. It has taken all day with quite a few interruptions to catch up on all the chat but finally made it.
Bella and I have just finished our walk through the park, so at least I know she will sleep well tonight.
Zusy, just another add to the fried rice, if you need to cook it in a hurry just spread it out on a tray and pop it in the oven for a bit, will help dry it out.
CRAFT is back, and forget what else I had to say.

Hello everyone - Hi Broni - probably missed you.
Probably missed Mamacita as well - wanted to tell her to have a wonderful time in SF with her family and her SA friends. Anyone else going there, in case I miss you in the next few days, enjoy yourself. Wish I could be with you even on skype but, sigh, no skype, no webcam. HoHum!!
