I see the new member, Alison, is a friend of Mariana's. I've invited her here so make sure you are all on your best behaviour and make her feel welcome if she drops in.

Hello again SA6ers.
Thanks for welcoming me back. It is so good to be back. What did we do before the internet? I know, talked on the phone for hours. Haven't had a chance to read all the pages I missed and although I've downloaded the pics from the camera, I haven't resized them yet. I forgot that when you come home from a holiday you have to unpack (done), do laundry (washed, dried, not ironed or put away), stock up the pantry (not done, eating out tonight) and in our case settle new puppy down after her 2 weeks of being spoiled by puppy-sitter who I believe carried her everywhere! Got to visit Mum tomorrow, haven't seen her in more than 2 weeks and I think she'll be missing me without actually consciously realising.

Hi CynB!! Welcome back!
You are so organised! I started to do washing today and then the sky went black so I stopped. Of course it hasn't rained all day!!

Mamacita - it seems that there was a problem with Angel. Sorry to hear that but pleased that all is improved now, Hope you are feeling OK.
June - I was wondering about Sharon and Laura but saw that Sharon posted on Easy and then just read that they've gone home so all must be well again and you can relax and put your feet up.
MizT - Hope your recovery was smooth after your op. Was thinking about you but getting little snippets via Rolanda and Anne.

Hi Suzy. Not organised at all just needed the clothes!!!!
One more bagpipe lover - Scottish blood. My Mum (with the Greek father and Scottish mother - good combination??) wants a piper playing 'Amazing Grace' at her funeral when she passes, something she stipulated before she got dementia. I think I will lose the plot at that point. I did at the funeral of a friend's mother who I barely knew.

I think I'd lose the plot right along with you. Mum hasn't said anything about what she wants, other than to be cremated.

Is Viv back yet? If so, sorry about the Cats. Don't really follow AFL but just happened to see some of the game in Perth before we left - was thinking of you and would have sent an SMS if they were winning.

Suzy - fortunately for us, Mum was very organised and wrote down what she wanted done but I doubt that will make it easier when the time comes. Dad, on the other hand, never told us a thing because he thought he was invincible and would live forever. We just had to do what we thought he would like and we were pleased with how it turned out.

Sharon saw the specialist today and he has said that she can start to drive again. She still has another three weeks off work.
If Laura's father stays at the hospital with them I will not go to the hospital to see Laura but they will be back here after she has her tonsils out. (Opp. Wed. then stay overnight in hospital)

My Mum had picked all the hymns etc 10 years before she went. Also the spot for the ashes had been paid about 32 years before when her Mother died. The most important thing is to know all the personal details to give the funeral director.(ie place and DoB, parents names, when and where married etc). Have them all written down before you see them as it is a stressful time and hard to remember off hand.

Suzy, last week a local real estate agent had zippered enviromental bags delivered to the letterbox. They would have been a load to carry.

Sounds like it! I have a tonne this week too. They called and asked if I could pick it up because it was a large load - it filled the boot and the whole back seat!! I should deliver it over more than one day but don't have an extra day this week. So far 20 folded sets completely fill a green bag to the top!

We are going to my sisters for dinner tomorrow night and she said bring our photos of Malaysia. She was there a month before us but they were there longer and went in places less accessable than where we went.
I do not want to take 600 photos in packets when her photos are all in albums and stories written about what they did.

That is a lot of places for a rural area. Is the rate for rural better than in the more densely populated areas?

I don't know June, but I don't think so. The pay is pretty awful. Having said that, the huge load I have this week is worth almost $100, which is far more than usual...

Suzy, get your Dip Ed. far better pay for a days work. If you add up the time sorting and then delivering it does not amount to very much per hour. We did it for awhile with the kids but with 5 people out we would get it done in a couple of hours (and the kids got all the money so they accepted the work)

I know June, but I had so little energy I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with teaching. The belly busters are supposed to increase my stamina so I can deal with the kids. Or at least make me feel like I have a chance!!!

I will be walking on Wednesday so won't be able to be in here looking for updates, but I will be thinking of Laura and her surgery.
