Actually the walking around the cemetery was very interesting. Some interesting people buried there, including Saint Mary Mackillop's mother. It is still 16*c so not cold at all and it did not rain. A bit wet underfoot in places but we were mostly on solid paths.

Morning all. Stinking hot weather here the last few days, plus T-storms the last two days and more expected today. Seven day forecast calls for rain every day! The humidity makes me ache, so I guess I'll have to spend extra time on the computer.

I have the plumber coming at 8:30 this morning because the kitchen sink is totally blocked.

Today is the last day of school for the grandies. The oldest will be going into grade 5 next year, and the youngest into grade 3. Where has the time gone?

Gotta run, plumber phoned and they are on their way ... half an hour early.

Good Morning Everyone.
Another sunny, hot, humid sunny day here but very comfy inside thankfully. I.m good and happy to see that so many have made it over to this new chapter in our lives, and it starts fairly well with most of us. To those with the aches and pains that become part of our daily lives, enjoy the moments when meds kick in and we are painfree...hold on to that feeling...and let the memory tide you over until the next time.... MizT, Heidi and even I have learned well to enjoy those periods.
Happy Birthday Mide...celebrate yourself girl, you have two dates to be happy to celebrate..the actual born date and the date of your second birth when you beat the odds that the doctors gave you...I have kept track of all of mine, three now, and they add up quite nicely...lol...I am now and have been officially old...but so what...I'm here and having fun ...mostly.
Theresa...hope the plumber can quickly solve the blocked sink...always a bummer.
Heidi, Great looking RV...wishing you much use and fun as you make lots of trips about...you need time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
MizT and all the rest...keep on keepin on and living the life we have....may peace be with all of you.

Happy Birthday, Midge. Gentle {{HUGS}} to you. Thank you for coming here and sharing with us.

Heidi, I want to come and live with you. Is that OK???

Mama, we are all on borrowed time, in a way, no matter what age we are. I am thankful to have you in my life to share your words.

Plumber is still here ... I guess it's a huge clog! But, he is definitely considered eye candy. A little on the young side, but still eye candy!

Heidi, love the RV. Since I have been thinking of running away it is good to know I have a place to stay Unfortunately, if I did run away, Kentucky would be the first place they would look for me.

That would be good Tami, though we don't have any plans on being in Florida for a while (unfortunately)
Heidi, the RV looks good. Actually looks very much like the one we hired in Canada. If the one we hired had been in that condition things would have been wonderful. Something like that would be way more expensive over here so the price isn't too bad. All you have to do now is enjoy using it.
I will be too late for a 'Happy Birthday' on the day for Midge but do hope you had a good day.

Great news about the car keys, June. SA 11 is starting to prove lucky.
I've always enjoyed walking through graveyards. They're always so quiet and peaceful. Some of the tombstones are fascinating, and some have tributes at them that show so much love. In fact, there is no hatred in a cemetery. Only love and peace. I'm not religious, but you don't have to be to appreciate all the wonders there.

Well, I called 'em and told 'em. I explained that I take the word ''temporary'' too literally. That particular tooth is a temporary, while we wait for the replacement permanent tooth to arrive. While waiting,I'm going on to my 4th temporary tooth. And it's not THAT long a wait!!! They can get me in tomorrow afternoon. They explained to me that I can visit them any time I want. I don't have to keep breaking teeth to do so.

Ewww...cow stuff through a window! Another story that is hilarious in hind sight, horrible at the time.

Midge, happy birthday! And happy second birthday! And many mooooorreee....

Mamacita, I'm sure everyone here agrees with me that your extra birthdays have been gifts to us!

I like the idea of celebrating our extra birthdays!! I'm 27! That's how long ago I was supposed to die but didn't. I showed them!

Brenda, I'd love to hear the results of your experiment. And not only on accomodation. Your time away sounds perfect, some one on one time with hubby and family! Can't wait to see photos...

MizT, I thought your pool was indoor and was suprised to hear you had to get out for thunder and lightning. What a bummer. Great news about your chair - a medal for Shannon!

Heidi, your RV looks wonderful! I hope you get to use it many many times. I loved your story about the family who are now back together. It reminded me to wonder if IH has talked to pepper guy. That guy needs a knock upside his head.

June, I'm so glad you got your car keys back! Not just the money saving but the peace of mind bit too. I hope your pad works as well as they said it would. It takes time I think you said. A couple of months? The cemetary walk sounds interesting. For several years after we moved here I took a round about way to get to town because the cemetary upset Alie. She's much better now. It turned out that for years she was seeing ghosts everywhere. She was in our bed one time and there was a whole old fashioned post office (funny caps and all) going on around the room. Scared her too much to get out of bed to get away from it. She still pegs curtains closed so she can't see faces in the windows.

Nola, I hope you get internet soon. I miss you.

Theresa, I smiled about your hunky plumber. My neurologist is gorgeous! I didn't tell hubby that though. And since he's a specialist (not sooooo young) we'd probably both only have to slip 10 years to match up okay. Though it would probably be better if I was the one to slip back 20 years as I was better looking then.

Tami, yay! Another nice sudoku meet! I'm glad Nal lives close and you'll be able to get together again.

Suzy, our pool is indoors, and I think it is totally ridiculous we have to get out for thunder and lightning.

Happy Belated Birthday Midge, and many more.

YEAH JUNE, car keys returned!

Heidi, if I have not said before, or even if I did, love the RV. That looks new, seems to be in great condition.

Suzy, how close to you was the escapee when he was found? I know you are happy he is back behind bars. Hope that 19 days of freedom was worth the extra years added to his sentence.

Heidi, I think for those of us and other visitors who are not accustomed to sleeping with 3 dogs, your RV makes the perfect guest room!

Spent today with a tummy problem, that tummy problem one gets when taking pain medication. I hope it is cleared up now. I did get to Scrabble today. Not at my best came in 3rd both games. Scores very close, second game the 2, 3 and 4th places were only one point apart. Shannon had some left over pizza from lunch, and brought it up for us. The room we play in is just across the hall from her office. I had a tiny sliver, it ws good.

OK, back to bed again. I have slept on and off today, so not surprised I cannot sleep tonight.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Till tomorrow, well, later today

MizT, now I am confused about your pool and lightning. I should google some things to see if I can make sense of it. Well so far it's clear as mud, but in a few states they recommend suspending activities and in one it is illegal to have indoor swimming activities during storms. It seems to fall into the same category as being hit inside your home but with the added risk of the water conducting electricity.

I hope tomorrow is a better tummy day.

The escapee was about 7km away, give or take. I'm not sure of the exact address but we're about 7km from the middle of the suburb he was in.

Heidi, I love critters!

I was supposed to hear from them yesterday as to whether the financing was approved. I didn't hear. I suspect that means I go to plan B. I'd rather finance it so interest is tax deductible. I get to go past the dealership again today, so I'm gonna stop and go over more of the nuances with them. Like, how do I plug it in to have it run off an extension cord from the house or elsewhere? Where's the cruise control? (almost the entire under-600-mile drive is on one interstate... I-75) How much storage space is under the RV? (I need to store hay, feed, bedding and water for the horses)
The RV looks new because it's been well cared for, and it's hardly been used. It's 8 years old but only has 9000 miles on it! A car with 9000 miles on it is called new. That's barely had the kinks driven out of it.

The bush hog worked fine. Then I went to the Dentist's and got another temporary tooth. I stopped at the RV dealership on the way back. I DID get approved for financing, so I can pay for it over 6 years instead of all at once (plan B). They took the RV for a test spin and found a couple of small problems with it, which they're fixing before I get it. They're also hooking up a couple of cameras for me... one for backing the RV and one to go inside the horse trailer so I can watch the horses during the drive, so I know they're OK.Depending on when the stuff is fixed, I get to pick it up and drive it home next Tuesday, or have to wait for Friday. My epidural is Wednesday morning, and I can't drive for 24 hours after that, and Thursday is the 4th of July.

Heidi, I also really liked the RV and I am sure you are going to have fun with it. I may have to research RV parks near me to get you to come visit South Florida. Did I mention that Dylan's Bar Mitzvah is scheduled for February 15, 2014????

Heidi - what a great idea to have a camera on the horses!! My car has a reverse camera (standard in the Prius) and I've gotten so used to it, I doubt that I'd be confident reversing without one!!
Hubby is off on an overnighter again, won't be back until tomorrow (yes, Saturday!!). But this is the first one he's had in a while, so that's okay. I hate it when it's every week though.

I will not be staying in any RV parks. They remind me of trailer parks and scare the bejeezus out of me. Nor do I like crowds. When I visit friends, I'll just park in their driveways. I'm not a long term vacationer, anyways. Too far from my critters.

Heidi, Congratulations on getting the financing you wanted on your RV purchase. Did you know that if you are traveling and need an overnight, Wal mart welcomes RVs to park in their lot. They are well lighted, nice and level, and many are located right at exits from interstates. So many wal-marts are open 24 hours, you would not be there all alone. Only thing you might need while away is a dumping station, for emptying and filling tanks, but on short visits, not likely.

I do hope you enjoy your RV and get many happy miles with it. Love the idea of the horse camera, it will be just like riding with your horses, a very good idea. Did you find enough storage for everything you need to carry for the horses? How long before your trip? Hope it is enough for you to do some test runs, be comfortable with the length of horse trailer and the RV together. Do you need a commercial license to drive an RV that long? Boy I have a lot of questions today hehehe

Now I get to pick up some essentials for the RV. Towels, soap, sheets, blankets, pillows, cooking utensils, and unbreakable plates, cups and glasses. I picked up some really cheap but cute flatware today... 16 pieces, or service for 4, metal, with heavy blue plastic handles, for $5. They'll do until I find something nicer. I will probably just start with paper plates and plastic cups. I already have a nice first aid kit for the RV, too.

I need no special license. This is not really a big RV. In fact, it's small for a Class A. I have driven a U-Haul this size, towing a larger trailer than my horse trailer, so I feel fairly confident.
The trip will be in 2 weeks. It's getting close.

CynB, Hope you find something to entertain yourself while hubby is on an overnight. I am glad this has not been regular. I remember how different everything seemed when Al was gone on a trip, but his were seldom just an overnight, more like a week or 10 days, ouch. Your reverse camera does sound like a good thing. I find as I get older I have more trouble turning head to see everything behind. I do depend on my three mirrors to show what is behind.

Suzy, I figure once upon a time, somewhere, someone was injured in an indoor pool during a storm, and there was a law suit that got the attention of all operators of indoor pools. Now they operate with a maximum of caution. Only thing I can think that would cause it, and as usual, it is money driven.

Tummy is better today, problem resolved. I went out for a few things at grocery. BOY was it hot and humid today! Take your breath away when you walked from AC temps indoors. I also watered flowers. I need to remember to take my sun hat when I am watering, a couple of them leave me in full sun on the black asphalt. A sun hat would help. Everything growing, everyone happy.

I missed the residents association meeting this afternoon. I was back at 2:30, had to put away all the groceries then make and eat some lunch. I had a few minutes fore time to leave for meeting, so leaned back my chair, and fell fast asleep! OH well, my not being there will not change the course of the meeting, I am sure, and I can read the minutes later to be in the know.

OK, time for dinner, I am behind schedule on meals today. I should be able to find something in fridge, especially after my trip to grocery today

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till tomorrow.

I hope I didn't make a major mistake just now. I just gave IH a lesson on operating my tractor with the big bush hog on it. I'm spending the afternoon and evening with friends at a concert in Lexington, and IH wants to do some bush hogging. The first time I used it, I caused some property damage (destroyed 3 water tanks by mowing closer than I thought I was) and if I can mess up with that big piece of equipment, I'm terrified as to what he will do. Hmmmm ..... maybe it's a good thing. If he really screws up, he can't yell as much about the motor home when I bring it home next week. He CAN yell, but I can make him feel small if he does.
