Bottle of Wine
(Women will LOVE this one!)
A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold Monday
morning; it's a bad one. Both of their cars are totally demolished, but
amazingly neither of them is hurt. God works in mysterious ways.
After they crawl out of their cars, the man is yelling about women
drivers.
The woman says, 'So, you're a man. That's interesting. I'm a woman. Wow,
just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but we're unhurt. This must
be a sign from God that we should be friends and live in peace for the
rest of our days.'
Flattered, the man replies, 'Oh yes, I agree completely, this must be a
sign from God! But you're still at fault...women shouldn't be allowed to
drive.'
The woman continues, 'And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is
completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God
wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune. She hands the
bottle to the man.
The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle
and then hands it back to the woman.
The woman takes the bottle, puts the cap back on and hands it back to the
man.
The man asks, 'Aren't you having any?'
The woman replies, 'No. I think I'll just wait for the police...'
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Women are clever, evil bit ches.

DORA, most dogs take to swimming naturally. Just slowly introduce him to water, so he is not frightened, and instinct should take over. good luck with his rehab.
Suzy, I am sorthing problems one at a time. My recliner moved about when getting into or out of it. I ordered some gripper foam, have enough to stick down about 40 recliners. that stuff really works@ I used 4 very small 3/4 inch squares on the recliner feet, no more sliding yeah. I have ordered a non skid under layment for my area rug. If it works half as good as the reviews say, should solve that problem. It should be here Wednesday. Tomorrow I should get the dust mop. The swiffer dry sweeper did not work as well as I wanted, and I prefer a mop head that is washable, reusable, no constant buying, using and tossing product. Now to buy end dust to spray the mop head, really attracts dust to mop. Only problem, I cannot take it outside to shake out the dust. I will think of something, I hope.
Mary did not come back today, bummer. I will phone her tomorrow and set a time. all my ceramic keepsakes need washing before returning them to the book shelves.
Not sure when, But it seems I will get the laminate continued into entry hall and kitchen. Installers got glue on the white tile, it did not come up with mopping. Now to be honest, I did not get down on floor and try to scrape it up
O had even offered to pay for the additional new floor covering, wanted it all to match when coming in front door.
Not a fan of tongue piercing, so glad my girls never wanted that, yuk. meds are starting to make me sleepy, I need to sign off fore I am face down on the keyboard. the fibro flare is beginning to ease some. I am slowly getting a few things done. Have a list for tomorrow, too. A bit every day is the best way.
Hugs to each of you, with extras for any who want or need. Huge hugs people!!

1. Use dustmop.
2. Take dusmop outside & shake it.
3. Track the 'shakings' back in.
4. Repeat....

Suzy - I am aware of that. I think so may Emily be. With her, it's all peer pressure, trying to fit in, wanting to be liked. All the things that can be traced back to being deserted by her mother. She is a rebel and she is definately an individual. I just keep my fingers crossed that she will have a happy life, even if not a conventional one.

MizT, I wouldn’t be getting down on the floor to scrape it either! Perhaps if they are forced to come back to do it, they’ll be more careful next time. They probably just wouldn’t show though.
Cyn I worry about her. I was friends with a girl who just wanted to be loved in high school and it wasn’t pretty.
I’ve uploaded a photo for people who aren’t on the other site, or aren’t my friend there. It’s a goanna. The noise of it climbing the Ute was what got my attention. I scared it trying for a better shot and it hid in the undercarriage. I hope it left before the car was driven anywhere. I was unsuccessful in my attempts to scare him out of there.

My next door neighbour missed his appointment with the oncologist because the people who were supposed to deliver his portable oxygen didn’t show. He is using a really heavy one that plugs into the wall. They finally showed today because we have a scheduled power outage tomorrow. A helpful nurse yesterday called all over town to get him extra tubing so he didn’t have to sleep in his chair. Next available appt is the 23rd. Grrrr

DORA, you have to check the direction of wind, before shaking the dust mop. If done correctly, wind blows the dust away from entry, and none is tracked back inside. But, living in an apartment, no where to shake a dust mop outside, bummer.
CynB, one good thing about piercings, if she ever decides that was not a good choice, just remove the stud, and it will eventually close. Not like a tattoo, which is there forever
June, I agree, the weeds are not that important now. The important thing is getting your energy back again. You take care of you, someone else can take care of the weeds, if you ask.
Another unseasonably warm day today. NO frost in the 10 day forecast. My summer flowers are tired, I am tired of caring for them. But I am enjoying the nice days.
Sunday afternoon I was out with the flowers when a group of residents came back from 'camp'. I think about 10 had gone. The camp counselors were busy getting everyone's luggage from the bus into lobby. One of our residents had walked back to Commons to get a grocery cart to put her things in, to take to her apartment. she was back in the lobby, and on the floor when I saw her. S is deaf, but reads lips well and does talk. I asked if she needed help, she said to get up. We are not allowed to get someone up if they fall, so we found her 'I have fallen and can't get up' button and pushed it for medics. S said her knee was hurt, twice pulled up her pant leg to rub it. Medics arrived, one of them did sign language, so they could communicate better. She went to ER, and Monday at lunch she had still not returned to EP. Staff cannot tell us what is going on, privacy act you know, but must have been an injury that needs treatment. I do hope she is OK.
Coffee in my cup is cold, and it is time to start my day. I have another to-do list for today, must get at it. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till next time.

Hi, Everyone! I have read, but I'm dragging after a long meeting tonight. We actually had 2 meetings, but haven't worked out how to be in 2 places at once. Ww had to miss the one that was closer and shorter (voting for Home Owners Association Board and a couple of amendments and policy changes. The one we went to was our Wood Turners meeting, as we must be there as Membership Chairpersons. It was a darn good thing, too, as about 40 members paid their dues for next year. It's the first time in eight or nine years as chairpersons that so many people (about 40) paid their dues BEFORE the new year started! I was busy writing receipts for almost the entire 2 hours of the meeting. It was also the meeting with highest attendance in about 5 years. Eighty-eight of the 160 members attended; three new members joined; and there were 5 guests!
June, you should be your number one priority. I agree with others about the weeds. I think it's safe to say that we all would encourage you to eat when you're hungry, rest when you're tired, and IGNORE the weeds. Sending gentle {{{HUGS}}}!
Suzy, I hope your neighbor calls you if he needs your help! Thanks for giving him a pep talk!
MizT, I hope you will thoroughly enjoy your new flooring when it is finished! I know you'll find the best way to deal with shaiking out the mop after you clean your floors! I hope the other resident wasn't injured badly and returns from the hospital soon.
DOrA, I'm glad you found a way to stay out of the doghouse with that clever 'story.'I hope your dog is doing well and will benefit from therapy, including swimming!
I feel fortunate that our girls didn't choose to have more than a few ear piercings (as far as we know).
They had a few friends who had nose piercings. That would seem to be very inconvenient and unhygienic when you have a cold. I can't imagine dealing with some of the other piercings that some people get.
Thinking of everyone, but having a hard time staying awake, so I will need to say, 'Good Night!' Sending healing energy, prayers, positive thoughts,

Suzy - I forgot about the results until a half hour after they were released, so I didn't have that anxious wait. I was sure it would get through. Now for the government to do the right thing and legislate quickly.
I was very surprised when recently at my Art class (for over 50's) we had the discussion about the ballot. I had wrongly assumed that people in that age group would be predominantly No voters. I counted 20 people there that day. 14 of us were voting 'yes, 4 'no' and 2 did not participate in the conversation, so I assume probably 'no' again. 70% for the yes vote in that age group was impressive.
The average for this electorate was almost 63%. I was amazed to see that NSW had the lowest percentage of yes votes. Qld was expected to but we were only 3rd lowest.

I saw the tongue piercing last night. She's uncomfortable and not enjoying it at this stage. We were all telling her to take it out but she won't - yet! That aside, she had a nice birthday and we had a great family dinner last night.

Back from the ENT visit. They tested my hearing and it's down 50% in the right ear. The infection hasn't cleared up yet, so I'm going back on cipro for 2 weeks. Then we're going to try to put the tube back in. It was still too infected to do it today.

Good morning all!
Heidi, sorry your ear is still bad. Col only has 60% hearing in his right ear but that is from driving a truck for years with the window down!
My sister recently left on a Brisbane to Perth cruise, but before they even got to Cairns in NQ she had gone profoundly deaf in her right ear. She was advised to return to Brisbane for Hyperbaric treatment. For 24 days she endured 4 hours of this treatment daily (like they give divers with the bends) and has now got about 70% back. But it comes with 'feedback', whistles and crackles. My sister has always been musical and is now finding that she cannot cope with anything loud or in stereo. It's been awful for her.

CynB, what a scary and terrible early end of your sister's cruise. I am happy that treatments were able to restore 70% of her hearing. Do they know what caused the sudden loss of hearing?
Heidi, I am glad you had to go back for a check on that ear infection, but very sorry to hear it has not yet cleared up. The hearing loss is not good either. I hope some of that returns after infection is cleared up. That has been one nasty long lasting ear infection you have been dealing with. Hope this time it is cleared for good.
Good evening to Tami, hope you had a nice day. Stop in again whenever you can.
Suzi, CynB, I saw the results here on the news, and thought about all of you. Like you, I hope the government passes legislation soonest.
Julie, my thoughts match yours on nose piercings. Mighty inconvenient and unsanitary if you have a cold. I could see one blowing out the stud if they had a cold like my last one, oh dear.
I am not sure what daughter did when connection my computer and phones, but now when I get a phone call, if I do not answer on the first ring, the computer TALKS to me, 'phone call from . . . .' Startled me first time I was sitting at computer when phone rang. Might have her turn it off, if she knows why it started talking to me .
I went to grocery today, actually got everything put away same day, then went to play scrabble. We now have new chairs in our community room here on my floor. Second try for management to get chairs the residents would like. Church services are held there twice on sunday. The first try, chairs were too hard and had no arms to give older residents a boost getting up. I think these are too big. the poler players, who use one end of the room can now get only 6 psersons around table, and chair will not scoot under the table, arms are too high. I feel sure those residents will be the next ones to complain about the chairs. Does not bother me, I ride in using poser chair and I have brought my own chair
Speaking of powr chair, it and my desk chair have become uncomfortable for long time sitting, so I have ordered me a PURPLE chair cushion. They make matresses of this honeycomb looking material, also, and thier comercial show putting an egg in a chair and then a large, heavy man sits on the cushion, egg does not break. I hope it will make sitting more comfortable for me. I might even try the cushion in my bed, cause my hip wakes me hurting most every night. I sleep on my side, and the hop down on bed is one hurting. IF that works, I might have to break the piggy bank and buy the very expensive bed.
OK, my hips are complaining now that I have sat too long. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till next time.

Hello, Friends!
Hubby asked me to research an item that he has been considering for some time. He tends to think about getting something for a while, then suddenly decides he's ready to purchase. Because he's having issues with his eyes, the on-line search for the item, reviews of it, and where to buy it most economically became my task for the night. Neither of us slept well last night, and he plans to get up at 6, so went to bed early. I think I have found all the information he needs, but now it's too late for me to check email or comment here. So, it's off to bed for me. Sending lots of cheerful and gentle {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, plenty of positive thoughts,

A “feel good” story.
As I don’t have mail delivered to my physical address, I visit the local Post Office on a fairly regular basis. Last week, on one of my visits, I was talking to one of the three ladies who work there. They already knew that my dog was having surgery for a screwed up leg. This gal asked me how he was doing. I told her he was doing well, but that due to the constraints on his physical activity, placed by the Vet surgeon, I would be staying home, during Thanksgiving and perhaps Christmas also, instead of going to be with family.
Today, the gal that was working, asked me if I had talked with “Carol' regarding Thanksgiving. When I said no, I was told that she wanted my address so she could deliver a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner, to me, personally. Talk about a “blindside”. That is the kind of gesture one might expect from a family member or close friend, not your “postie”.
Only in a small town...

Thinking of all of you!
CynB, your sister must be devastated! I can't imagine what might have caused sudden hearing loss. How frightening! I'm hoping as time passes, the uncomfortable sounds that accompany her returned hearing will lessen! Sending healing thoughts her way!
MizT, sometimes (but not always) hubby's 'smart phone' announces when he's getting a call. Although we have the same phones, I haven't ever heard mine do it.
Heidi, I hope this next round of antibiotic ear drops clears up your ear infection and the ENT will be able to put in the tube at your next visit. I also hope you are able to get an appointment soon to get your wrist evaluated. I'm so glad you won't be dealing with calving this year. Between your wrist and your back, I suspect it would have been more difficult than in the past.
June, I hope you're feeling better and able to eat and sleep better with the passing of each day!
I hope everyone is feeling relatively well and enjoying whatever season you have right now.
Suzy, I hope this has been a good/happy day for you! I suspect you have been busy with one of the girls or the grandies. Here's hoping your neighbor now has the portable oxygen and will be OK until his appointment.
I hope to have an earlier bedtime tonight, so will move on to email. Unfortunately, I get a LOT, and it seems when I try to Unsubscribe from something, I suddenly start getting emails from 2 or 3 other companies. I hope to go delete many from the Inbox!

DORA, one of the perks of living in a small town, having your postal clerk bring you Thanksgiving dinner. I think it is wonderful, hope you enjoy it.
Today our resident's association had it's annual bake sale. I usually bake for it, but could not this year. I went down late, bought some chocolate chip cookies and some baklava. there were two cakes that had not sold. Tuesday we will have out Thanksgiving meal here at EP, and we are asked to bring a desert to share. I bought both unsold cakes, and will send one down for T giving dinner Tuesday, and take the other for family dinner Thursday. Saved me from having to bake this year yeah! Helped me and the bake sale both. they also sold chances on a $50 bill, guess I did not win , or they would have phoned me.
Heidi, hope the antibiotic drops for ear help, and the ear ache goes away soonest. what is going on with your wrist? If you have talked about it, I have missed reading it. Yes, if it has hurt for 3 months, time to seek medical help. Hope it is easily fixed and back at 100% soon.
Julie, I hope you collected enough information for your hubby so he can purchase whatever now. It can take a lot of time looking online for items. I am looking for flameless battery candles. I had 3 last year, with a timer, whatever time you first turned them on, they would burn for 4 hours, then turn on at same time every day. Well, batteries in two if the three were corroded, cleaning and new batteries did not help, so I only have one working. BOY prices have quadrupled since I bought those 2 years ago. Now they have a remote and you can make them do all sorts of unnecessary things. I do not need all the electronics, just want the timer, simple.
Today the soup truck came, we had a lot of residents down for soup, as this is free. Just have to bring our own container. today was a potato/chicken soup. Pretty good but needed a touch of salt. Many of us ate downstairs in Commons, where the bake sale was winding down. Someone found salt in the kitchen, just a pinch improved soup tremendously.
I made spaghetti sauce this afternoon, to have for my main meal over weekend, thawed some spaghetti squash, like it better than pasta, and lots of vegetables that way, since I put multi colored peppers, mushrooms and onion in my spaghetti sauce, that is about 5 servings of veg, and low carbohydrates. I can have garlic bread or a desert, my choice, to go with. It will be good.
Fore cast says we will get to 32*F, (0 C) for about one hour Sunday night/Monday morning, just before sun up. Take a chance on the plants? cover them? or bring them in? Nope, not in for one night, it will be unseasonably warm again for the week, think I will cover them unless forecast changes. I am really ready to let them go, except for the ferns and the unknown plant. The annuals have bloomed themselves to death, look so tired. time for Pansies and Ornamental Kale. Need to get to nursery to buy new soil, and saucers for the ferns (

( I had saucers, stored them over summer, but someone helped themselves to the saucers, bummer. Wonder if I can go on the bus and bring all that back?
OH, we do have a new bus driver, full time now. Cute tiny lady, I think she needs a cushion to sit upon to see out the front hehehe. medical transport is now 3 days a week, and she is taking over some other chores to lighten load of staff that has been so overworked. I wonder if they will offer Wal Mart trip twice a week, since people were limited to going only every other week, so many want to go. We will see, and if they do not , perhaps we can ask for the second trip.
CynB, for now, I just turn down the sound unless I am using it for a video or something. Then I cannot hear the computer talking to me when the phone rings.
Happy there is more than one to get a computer to do, or not to do, something.
Bedtime meds on board, and I am about finished with my warm milk. Back to a baby again, milk before bedtime. Because we ate our evening meal so early when we were growing up, when dad came in from work about 4 pm, we always had a snack at bedtime, and milk was always my favorite snack. With or with out cookies (sweet) or crackers (salty)

Julie, Re: unsolicited email...
When you 'un-subscribe', the sender knows they have a working email address. They can sell it.
The best course of action is do NOT acknowledge it. Instead, add the sender to your 'blacklist' and / or tell your email program the email was 'spam, junk, etc.'
Another tip, for those who have multiple email addresses, one is usually for junk / 'bs', right? Any time you go to a new website that wants an address, give them the Junk one. You can always change it later IF the site earns your trust.
Dodging 'spam' is an ongoing battle.

I had coffee with a friend today and asked her if she’d seen Prince Andrew when he was at the base. She works there. No, she was at the other end of the base, BUT she looked after him at a base in England!! She was a steward in the navy. She saw him in Perth a few years later and he recognised her. I’ve known her here for 17 years so that was a while ago.
