I wish you, and the rest of Australia's east cost, good luck with that cyclone//hurricane, CynB. Scary things.

Hi, Everyone!

Hi, Suzy! So sorry about losing your post! We hope all's well and Gizmo and Jasper are getting along well!

Heidi, here's hoping the rain will move on and no new storms find you for at least a week! Have you started building an ark?

Cyn, thank goodness the huge cyclone didn't live up to its reputation!

Thinking of everyone and sending healing energy, prayers, positive thoughts, , and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

I'm delighted to hear that the epidural has provided much relief, Heidi! And great TOPP!

Lots going on here in the next week, including much cello practicing needed and babysitting. Not complaining, but just letting you know that I'll be dragging by the end of each day and unlikely to drop in - or even read emails.

Thinking of everyone and sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , prayers, and positive thoughts. I hope that's enough for a week or so! Good Night! I'll see you when I see you.

Don't forget to include some time for rest, Julie. I worry about you overextending yourself. Nothing is worth destroying your health over.

Well, the hound goes in for his second ''TPLO'' surgery, tomorrow. Eight weeks, minimum of limited activity. Leash ALWAYS, when outside for a while. Ugh! No fun for either of us...

We're still on the roller-coaster with Col's eye.
Yesterday's visit changed the scene again. The graft still looks 'okay', the second lot of stitches that weren't to come out for another 8 months were loose, meaning that the join had healed, so they were removed. The opthalmologist thinks that the remainder of the lens that mainly washed away after the accident is still inside the eye and causing the problem. Don't ask, I don't understand either!! This afternoon we are to go back for them to perform minor laser surgery to remove the rest of the lens. The good news is that should all go well, he may get his new lens inserted much sooner than originally thought. The bad news is that all of this activity might irritate the graft and cause it to reject, and also cause us not to be able to go on our cruise. Sigh!
Please keep your fingers crossed for it to go well.

To Col & CynB.
I've got everything crossed that can be crossed. May the surgeons be inspired with their laser work.

''They've'' changed their minds. Now they're calling for some rain tomorrow and snow showers the next day. Considering it'll be just above freezing, I'm expecting heavy rain.

After waiting 5 1/2 hours at the Eye clinic, they were unable to successfully perform the laser procedure. So we wait for the next appointment. Sigh!
When you are thinking how lucky Australians are to have free medical care, remember how stretched to the limits our hospitals are. This Opthalmology department is literally the only one in all of Queensland. It only takes a few emergencies, like yesterday, to cause havoc. 3 emergencies all at once, and we waited and waited. If we'd gone home we would have been given a black mark and not got a quick follow-up appointment.

The hound had his second ''TPLO'' surgery, today. Tomorrow, when he comes home, the fun begins. Elizabethan collar and absolute minimum activity. All outside excursions on a short leash while I support his weight with a sling. Going to be a long 8 weeks...

They've changed their minds again. All precipitation forecasts have been cancelled. Now they say no rain all week. I don't think they have a bloody clue.

And now they say we're going to have rain tonight, tomorrow, Friday and Sunday. I need to haul 13 calves to the sale barn this weekend. I was going to do it Sunday, but they're now calling for a chance of ice on Sunday, so I may have to haul them on Saturday and pay for an extra day's care there. It's really hard to plan my cattle hauling with these constant changes in predictions.

Once they're gone, Mike will be moving his cattle over here.

I keep checking but I don’t think she’s posted it in here. MizT posted on TOS.

I have an MRI scheduled for Thursday. NOT at the Open and Upright place. they could not schedule me till March 27. I called the one I had gone to before, not as open, but not so tiny, they phoned today, could have done it today if I could have got there. Hope they can see what is causing low back and leg pain and fix it. I cannot stand or walk, pain too severe. Doing everything from and getting around my apartment in wheel chair has not been easy. Doc will probably want to do a block again. I am reluctant to do another, I always get headaches after. But 7 weeks of this I might exchange for a headache this time . Hard to know what to do.

Another one of the cows that Smokey attacked has died. That leaves me with only 8 cows. And the one old cow whose calf Smokey killed needs to ne culled due to old age. I really regret buying that dog.

Mike has offered to haul the calves for me! Such a nice guy. He also moved his cows here this afternoon. Two gave birth a few days ago. It's easy to tell his from mine. Mine are Red Angus, his are Black Angus.

Had a nasty thunderstorm go thru today. Heavy rain (what a surprise!). It knocked the power out for an hour. And the temperature is falling after shirtsleave weather yesterday. Now they say possible snow tonight. We seem to be having every possible weather option over a 24 hour period. This is ridiculous!

Had an ''interesting'' night. Not much sleep. We had another power failure which lasted most of the night... while the repair crews searched the neighborhood for the break. They drove slowly around with massive seachlights (and flashing lights) following all the wires. That included driving around my property and all the neighbor's properties, while my dogs barked frantically at them.... for 3 hours. Unfortunately, it dropped down to freezing last night, so with the power out, the temperature inside dropped considerably.

I've been snickering for hours now. The adulterous b@stard and his sl^t of a wife were trying to buy a really nice house in town. The sign in front of the place has said ''Sale Pending'' for nearly 2 months. Today they took the sign down and put up a ''For Sale'' sign again. That means the 2 of them were unable to get the financing to get a mortgage. I find that hysterical. After all those years of making me pay for everything, and using his money for really bad business deals, he now has no savings or collateral. Or history of paying off loans. I have no idea what that adulterous wife of his has, but it was not enough to help get that mortgage, either. And at 70 years old (him) and 80 years old (her) they don't have a whole lot of earning ability left. I love karma.

The rain is supposed to start (again) in about 6 hours. Three hours later it's supposed to switch to snow and freezing rain. Water levels are the highest I've ever seen them. February is supposed to have been one of the 2 wettest Februarys in recorded history here. And that's following up on 2018 being the wettest year in recorded history.

I love karma too Heidi. How are you going with the special diet before op? We have had the opposite weather to you - hot and humid. Big fires in Gippsland for the past few days and no relief as yet. Weather is kinder today but no rain. Had a confused possum at the front door the other day and gave it water - when I went to take it away, the possum grabbed it. Haha DorA - we have a lot of that being thrown around now with our last heatwave, but I remember 33 years ago having 4 40+ days in March. Sorry you had to wait so long CynB with no result. Hope Col is handling all of this o.k. It has been a long process. I was sick of being treated like a lab rat and have now gone private. Won't have any money for 'fun' if I ever retire but more confident in my Dr. Hope MizT is going o.k. - miss her newsy writing, What part of the Philippines is Alie in Suzy? Is she away for long? Hope your pets are getting on o.k. now. I am off to the beach for the night to stay in the caravan with daughter. First time this summer (and probably only time). Not well enough to go on my own at the moment. Julie must be extra busy with practice - take some time out for you too. Cheers to all

I'm gradually easing into it. I don't absolutely have to start the pre-op diet until March 10th, but I'm about 80% on it now. The difference is in trying to use up some of the food in the fridge, and enjoying fresh fruit while I can.... particularly tangerines and grapes. I will eventually be able to eat berries, but not for several months.

I just saw on CNN that tornados hit Alabana and Georgia, and at least 14 people have been killed. So I called MizTricia to make sure she's OK. She said that the tornados were south and east of her, and her area wasn't affected. She's still in a lot of pain with her leg and can't walk on it to get to the computer. Otherwise, she sounded pretty good.

Glad to know MizT is okay with those tornadoes all around.
And I also love it when Karma hits people who deserve it.
We went back to the doc again today. They are happy with how Col's eye is healing. We have to go back in 2 weeks so that they can do the laser procedure and get us prepared for the cruise. He says as long as we stick to the regimen for the eye drops all should be well. Also, we are going to NZ where they have a reciprocal agreement with Australia involving medical care, should we need it.
