Those alpacas sound gorgeous!

Suzy, I hope that pain get sorted asap as well as fixing the rest of the problem.

Finally got some cooler weather. For a girl who's always loved summer, I am really enjoying feeling cool and having to rug up. 7c now in the moments before dawn.

Alie’s bf is driving down for the weekend. Two cars in front of him got into an accident. He slammed on his brakes. The car behind him swerved to avoid him and only just missed him, it then nearly hit the car beside him which also had to swerve. So he wasn’t in an accident, but it was close. He’s feeling very anxious right now.

Suzy, I'm so sorry to hear about Alie's BF. He is definitely lucky, but I can certainly understand that he would feel anxious or even a bit 'freaked out' by the experience. I hope he can relax and enjoy the weekend!

Heidi, how awful that your ear is acting up again! You would think that something could be done to prevent the problem from returning! Sending lots of positive thoughts and healing energy your way!

Alie dyed the grey out of my hair. I haven’t done anything with it since Don died. I used to get highlights. Alie surprised me by picking out a home dye kit and doing it for me. The colour is different for me, but at least it’s not grey.

It’s Alie and her bf’s first anniversary this weekend. She gave him $100 worth of Star Wars books, he gave her a silver necklace with a pearl. She loves pearls! They’ve gone out for dinner and, I think, a movie. I gave them a book of movie tickets. I know it’s not necessary for me to give them a present, but Alie does a lot for me so I thought it was a good excuse to do something for her.

Suzy, I hope you're enjoying your new hair color! I'm adjusting to mine, as my sister today insisted on using a wash-out color. I haven't gone completely gray but the hair at my temples is. My hair has also become quite thin and fine. She said the temporary color may give it a little more body. I sure hope so!

I've been 'reviewing' 6 books of Suzuki songs. Honestly, for some of them it's more reLEARNing them. I agreed to go to the week-long music camp with a friend who also started to learn the cello around 4 or 5 years ago. This will be my last year, as it's too much music to try to keep memorized. My favorite parts of the camp are orchestra and cello choir (many cellists playing music in parts or 'voices' - kind of like in a vocal choir). If I could just enroll for those parts of the camp, I would do it and skip the rest.

Heidi, I hope you (and your ear) are feeling better!

Suzy, I hope your tooth/sinus connection will soon be fixed! Are the ultrasounds finished? Will surgery be scheduled? It's so much to deal with!

I hope MizT has found some relief from the seemingly ever-present pain!

Midge, how are you, and how is your son? Did he take his trip?

DOrA, I hope you're well! How is the hound doing? Is everything back to normal?

It has been a long day, so I'm about to head to bed. Thinking of everyone, including those I haven't mentioned, and sending , healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and positive thoughts to Everyone!

Julie, like you, I’m not completely grey, I used to call them highlights, but I was starting to get enough that my hair looked dull. I wish I’d washed it this morning instead of thinking it could go another day. I had a thing cut out of my upper chest today, nothing to worry about but really annoying, and can’t get it wet for 48 hours. I’m allergic to adhesive so can’t wear the waterproof covers.

After years and years of dyeing my hair to cover the grey which started when I was still a teenager, I knew I was white haired underneath, I finally in the last year decided to go grey, after all I am over 70 now. Starting with foils of blonde and letting the grey/white grow amongst it, took a year or so until I finally was able to stop. The remnants of blonde are almost gone and my hair is white, I grew out my fringe. Costs reduced from $220 every 4-5 weeks, to $50 every 8-10 weeks. My hair is easy to manage whether I blow dry it or not. The feeling of freedom is amazing!!

So far so good with the house guest. We're not under one another's feet. She likes different TV programs than we do, so she watches them on her tablet in her room. We eat dinner together at the table at night (unusual for Col and I, we're naughty and eat in front of the TV most of the time). Maddy stayed the night with us last night, so I have seen them all off to work this morning.
Now I'm going to meet Emily and have lunch with her. Nice!

Early morning this morning, well early considering I was awake at 3am and it’s bloody cold. Alie’s boss had chemo yesterday and wasn’t feeling the best so she was called in. It was too late, too wet and too cold for her to walk. I’d already told her last night that I’d drive her in if they called. Now I’ve been up a couple of hours and want more coffee. I just don’t want to get out from underneath my dog blanket to get it!

Hi, Everyone!

CynB, I like your idea of adding blonde foils to transition to gray (except for the price). I wonder if there might be a similar, but cheaper, process that would work.

It sounds like things are starting out well with your houseguest, Cyn! I hope it continues amicably.

I'm not sure how the 'temporary' color will work and how long it will last. I assume it gradually lightens as the color washes out, but I don't know for sure. At some point it will be stopped. My sister asked if I wanted her to try it. As I was saying I really didn't think so, she was already mixing the product, so I have it for as long as it lasts.

Suzy, it was nice of you to take Alie in to work. I hope Alie's boss is feeling better. It would be hard to work while on chemotherapy, I would think.

So sorry I couldn't bring you a hot coffee, Suzy, but we don't even have coffee in the house and have never purchased it in any coffee shop establishment. Hubby and I never acquired a taste for it.

I hope everyone who is under the weather or not feeling well will soon experience an improvement!

I like the hit from coffee but can only have one per day maximum and then only in the afternoon or I feel sick. Otherwise I am a tea drinker like my Dad. Mum loved her coffee. I remember as a child, before instant coffee, when brewed coffee just wasn't easily available anywhere in Australia, Mum would drink coffee essence, it was a blend of coffee and chickory. If she found herself anywhere that served brewed coffee, she relished the moment.

Julie, good luck with the transition process with your hair. A good hairdresser may have ideas of the easiest and cheapest method of doing it. Or just let it happen naturally. The mistake I made was dyeing it for so long that it was actually fully white underneath and the regrowth would have been dreadfully noticeable.

I've never done any coloring to my hair. Gradually, the gray hairs are growing in on the temples and more slowly throughout the rest of the head. I've been told coloring the hair damages it, so I never have..... though when I was a child my mother had my hair regularly dyed blond so everybody would think she was a natural blond, too. It reverted to light brown once I got out of her clutches. Nobody has touched it since.

Heidi, according to a hair dresser I went to in the US, colouring your hair before 16 permanently damages it, after that the damage grows out. Your mother sucked. I’m a blonde with brunette children. I used to joke that people probably thought I dyed my hair blonde. Until Alie died my hair I’d only ever had highlights. I choose to forget my one disastrous attempt to do it myself about 7 years ago

Greetings, All!

I met a student's mother once who said she had never dated anyone who didn't drink coffee. She really valued the time spent sitting, savoring, and talking over a cup of coffee. I was stunned. I couldn't imagine drinking coffee was that wonderful. Hubby and I must have missed a lot of wonderful time together, since neither of us drinks coffee. All of our parents did, though.

I remember that my Mom colored her hair, starting when I was in about 8th grade (age 13-14 or so). She was 30 years older than me. I feel lucky that my hair didn't start graying that early. One of my older female cousins had gray hair in high school. She couldn't find a home dye product that would cover it, and certainly could afford to have it done.

I hope everyone is well, including our fellow Sudokuaholics who only visit occasionally. I think I should check on facebook to see if MizT has posted there recently.

It's getting later than I thought, so I will call it a night. Sending lots of positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, prayers, and <3 ! (The smilies aren't working for me tonight.)

It's raining fairly heavily here.... and we really needed it. The ground was starting to dry out a bit too much for the time of year. The alpacas have access to the aisle of the horse barn, and they decided they didn't want to go out in the pouring rain for their supper. So I fed them inside. They thought that was pretty cool.

Sounds like these alpacas are in a pretty good place. Hope the ear is getting better. We have had a fair bit of rain too and we sorely need it. It has been a dry summer.
My mother used to perm my hair - how I hated it - would go to school and stick my head under the taps to try and straighten it.
Julie - I don't know how you can survive without coffee. When I worked for the newspapers back in the early 70's,we would drink black coffee almost non-stop and this started my lifelong need for coffee. Only have about 3-4 cups a day now, but sometimes double coffee. My friend is a hairdresser and when she started to go grey, she dyed the top part of her hair a lovely shade of grey - looks fabulous - I will do that when my grey is showing more (the sides are white).
Swap with you CynB - it is too cold here for me - one thing about when we were in Jindalee, I loved the weather. Have a great weekend to all

A rail wagon has derailed at a crossing in Dana’s small town. Dana doesn’t drive so to get anywhere she now has to walk a hill with all the kids. I told her to stay home. The rail line has been damaged. She said it would take a while to clear because the goodsies are sh1t. I wonder how many Aussies got that. I didn’t. It makes perfect sense once you know she means goods trains. Her little town is on the only rail line that connects Melbourne and Sydney. That means no trains will get through. There are a lot of people now stranded.

It's been raining so hard that, for the first time since I moved to Kentucky ('92), the county's water supply has been contaminated. This morning we were put on a boil advisory. Then this afternoon, they called to say that the contamination is so bad that they had to switch the source of their water, and not enough is available, so everyone has to restrict water usage for a while. Luckily, it's raining so much that the livestock have plenty. I'm just going to leave the washing machune and shower alone for a few. I don't have to go anywhere so nobody has to smell me.
We're also under flood advisory. I've heard reports of a lot of local roads being under water too deep to drive through. And we're expected to have 4 or 5 more days of thunderstorms. Why can't we just have periodic light rains, instead of drought-or-flood?

Well, Heidi, you could just splash on a half bottle of your favorite ''foo foo juice''. When I walk through stores, it seems that is a popular solution.

Looks to me like I didn't read last night.

Suzy, how awful about the train derailment near Dana. That sure makes things difficult for everyone who lives there! Hopefully there were no injuries.

Heidi, what a year you have been having with either too much rain or not enough. I'm glad there is enough for the 4-legged residents to have water. The alpacas certainly seem to be quite smart and have made a great adjustment to being with you. I hope your ear is getting better! And I hope the water contamination problems can be solved quickly. Aren't you glad you don't need to 'dress' to go to work somewhere away from your farm?

Midge, your hairdresser-friend had a great idea. I wonder if I can find any photos of a similar coloring on line. It sounds striking.

DOrA, I haven't heard 'foo foo juice' in years. That was a saying my middle brother brought home with him from his years in the Navy.

It's getting late, and I need to get to bed. Take care, Everyone! Sending lots of healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, and <3 (Smilies aren't working again.)

Heidi, might the bariatric surgeon consider it to be post-surgery follow-up and see you without an additional fee? I can't imagine he would be happy with you having a recurring infection.

Suzy, good one about the 'rain shower!'

I have SO much practicing and re-memorizing I need to be doing prior to the music camp (first week of July). I wish I could find some trick to keep all this music memorized. If I even consider going to the same camp again next year, you all have my permission to STRONGLY remind me that I don't plan to return again (unless they'll let me come and only play in the cello choir, but no lessons or classes).

I'm going to check on facebook tonight to see if MizT has posted there recently. Unfortunately, we're also having some computer issues, so I might not actually get there - or back here to report, even if I find out anything on facebook.

Hi, Everyone!

I checked on TOS on MizT's page. the last post there was from her sister at the end of May. There was a photo of them from a few days earlier. Hoping she has just been busy or pursuing some pain relief.

According to TOS, today is CynB and Col's anniversary. Happy Anniversary, Cyn and Col!

I hope everyone is well. Seems pretty quiet here today.

Heidi, I hope your ear/s is/are improving.

Suzy, I can't remember the procedure or surgery was to take place. I hope you're not in pain!
