Afternoon all,
I've been a good girl this week. I am working my way through the house decluttering. I do a bit at a time. I have some things I want to either give away or sell. Every little bit helps.

MizT, I laughed at your 'it's Saturday' brain f@rt. I do that! I'll sit bolt upright in bed - 'what time is it?' Hubby will answer Saturday.

Heidi, good to hear you are treating your back well. It's very early Sunday morning over your way. Scrolling down to see if the RV came......Okay, I must have missed something as I thought it was coming on Friday, but I don't see it yet.

Mamacita, kids (and grandkids and great grandkids) are hard on the wallet aren't they? They don't even have to be living with you, but it is worse when they are. I hope they are at least being helpful.

June, good for you getting the door almost done. If all Ken has to do is make it close properly it will take less time and you might catch him at home for long enough to do it. I hope your back is feeling better today.

Viv, yay walking without your stick!! I hope that means things are getting better...

MizT, I hope talking about them brings the wandering flowers home. We had that happen when our hens were still laying. I mentioned that we might have to chop off their heads and all of a sudden we had eggs again. I wouldn't swap my ereader for the world because hubby bought it for me, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it either. If I spent an hour or two working it out so I could get books from more places I might change my mind on that. It is smaller than most ereaders or tablets and I do like that. It is easiest to read in good light so would be brilliant in bright sun. It's a little Kobe.

Tami, I don't think we could get into our little community zoo here for that kind of money! What a bargain!! Was it crowded because of the special? The tickets were a great win! Are you going or will you hand all of the tickets to the men in the family?

We are now the proud owners of 11 chooks and a rooster. Well, 10 and a bit, Ebony has done a runner again. She should be back though. Of those, 4 are young and on the rare occasions they lay, the eggs are teeny tiny, 1 very old and 6 kinda sorta old and maybe still laying.

Hubby is researching how to cut off rooster spurs and I can hear roosters crowing on the video. Made me wonder if Barney was up at the house.

Broni, enjoy the sun and don't work too hard!

Heidi, they also run up to us and hang around us when we're out in the yard so they are very petlike.

Bad day in World news today: Egypt clashes ongoing, plane crash in San Francisco, Train explosion in Quebec, and an attack on a school in Nigeria. I send out thoughts into the ether... and feel powerless.

Yes Suzy it seems every day there is something horrible going on somewhere. Too much of it.
We went bush today to get some more firewood.
It was 2c when we left at 7.20am.
I do not know how I managed to get up and get going.
We lit a fire out there so that was nice sitting by that. Took my crocheting along too.

Since coming back home about 2.30pm ish I have done some ironing and started the wood fire in the lounge room. Now I am cooking some vege soup. About six different veges went into it, a couple of stock cubes and when finished I will put some noodles in mine and some parsley on top. That might be the evening meal I think. lol

Morning all.

I am at my daughter's looking after the girls while her hubby (???) drives her to work. They have a new kitten and I am sitting here laughing at his antics. It has been a long time since I have been around a kitten for this long ... just a sweet ball of energy.

It has been stinking hot here lately, and now we are in for a few days of rain. I just wilt in the humidity. Around 6:30 PM yesterday it was still 30C with a feels-like temp of 37C. Sigh, sweat, sigh, sweat some more.

Suzy, will the chooks stay there as pets only, or are they intended as food? I am thinking pets.

Yes Suzy and Mama, kids are expensive, no matter what. We help our daughter a bit more now that she is separated, but family is family and has to stick together. I know she would be there for us if called upon.

Viv, one day I will learn how to make a yummy vegetable soup.

Theresa, are you like us and avoid using heat or cooling except in extreme circumstances? They will be pets, hubby keeps saying he's going to chip heads off one day but we both know he won't.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Theresa, the kitten sounds cute and just what the girls need.

Suzy, the price at the zoo was a July 4th special sponsored by a local auto dealer. It is the second year they have done it. I will not pay full price for zoo tickets. We will all go to the game and have two extra. We will probably bring two of the boys friends with us, so I will most likely be the only girl, as usual.

Awwwww ... kittens are adorable! I'd have one in here if it wasn't for 3 things... 1) I'm allergic to cats, 2) the cat would make life miserable for the birds, and 3) several of the dogs think ''cat'' is one of the major food groups. So all cats here are barn cats.

I don't have the RV yet, and we're cutting it close. The service people didn't have an opening to install the cameras until Tuesday... 2 days from now. I need to have the trailer clean and over there tomorrow morning for the camera to be installed in it as well. I'm getting so high-tech, it's scaring me.

All of us went to store to buy stuff to fill freezer. They were having a blood drive so I gave blood in order to get 2 free movie tickets. Found out minimum age was 16 so Mitchell donated blood also. I am really proud of him. We will now get 4 free movie tickets. Hubby is not allowed to donate blood.

I just got the horse trailer cleaned out. Took 2 hours, but the floor is so clean I'd eat off it myself. Tomorrow morning I take it in to the RV dealership to get the camera installed. They're also giving the trailer a going over to make sure it's safe for that long drive. It turns out that they're the new local dealership and service center for this brand of trailer (Exiss) as well. This is going to be a very smooth and comfortable trip for all. Unless the 2 kids fight. How did I get roped into taking a couple of kids to Florida?

Good morning all - haven't been here in several days. Been busy with birthday's (Col), grandchildren staying over and hospital appointments (Col again).
Update on Col's heart tests: Only got as far as the echo test and they found 'something'. Cancelled the stress test and booked him in on Wed (day surgery) for another one like an endoscopy where they put a camera down his throat and look at the heart from a different view without ribs in the way.
Whilst we keep saying it's probably nothing, it is a worry because he needs a medical clearance every year to keep driving professionally, so we have to get this cleared up and hope it doesn't affect his job.

I have read but can't remember much.
Heidi - hope the RV is ready for when you need it.
Suzy - sorry you missed GS. I literally ran into him at the Casino in Brisbane years ago. We did have a conversation which went along the lines of 'Oops, sorry'. Hehehe!
Tami - I saw the pic on FB of Mitchell giving blood. Nice that he wanted to do it at that age. They won't take it from me because they can never find a good vein.

My weekend is getting better. Yesterday at the zoo I took a picture of my three boys, and 2 zookeepers, holding a snake. It was about 8 feet long. The sponsor of the zoo special is giving away 10 annual family memberships per day for submitting a photo. I just checked and I won for day three.

Cyn, I have a hard time giving blood. I have bad veins and have cussed out people who 'blow the vein.' I make sure I have the best person there taking care of me and I make sure they are 1,000% sure they can get it. Mitchell has seen me give blood before and recently asked about it. I thought you had to be 17 but it was 16 with a parent.

Cyn {{{HUGS}}} There is always something to worry about. I will keep you and Col in my thoughts.

Tami, congratulations.

I can't give blood either. I have tried in the past but I was told I was too low in iron and I should be there to receive blood, not give it.

CynB.... I'm glad they found something. That's the first step towards getting it fixed. It's always so frustrating when you know there's something wrong, and the doctors can't find anything.

What a weekend, Tami!!!

I can't give blood because I'm on Prozac and other meds. Prozac automatically disqualifies you from donating.

We already know that Col has a congenital heart defect - he has a bicuspid valve where it should be tricuspid - and this may be what they have found. It should be in his notes because he told the admitting doc when he was rushed in weeks ago. However they have to check again to make sure - so it may just be that. If so, it's just something he has to deal with for the time being and should not disqualify him from driving.

Things are finally moving for my ex-in-laws. He's to be released from hospital tomorrow and she has been in respite. Their assessment team won't let them go home, so Karin and her cousin have scrambled around and found a villa in a retirement place where they will move into tomorrow. As things progress, there are low and high care facilities on the premises that they can then go into.
They will be together until the end and that is what matters.

Cyn, I hope Col's problem turns out to be 'just' the valve thing, though it would be nice to find out what happened the other day, it wouldn't be a good thing to lose his livelihood... I'm so pleased your in-laws will get to stay together. What a relief for everyone and a happy ending for them.

Tami, congratulations! Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person! 16 is the minimum age for donating here too. I used to donate, good veins, good blood, though I always got very faint. I'm not allowed to now because of my stroke/s.

June, have a good time and let Belinda do the slippery, heavy work.

Rolanda, hope your trip to the airport wasn't too stressful. From my experience airports can be horrible to get in and out of.
