Hey All....Just a quick perusal of the hundreds of comments you chatty folks have rolled out since I was gone made me aware of how your appearances have also changed.....great avatars abound. Made me go back and pull one of my old name ones out...but it seems I've misplaced some others....MizT, May I request of you a new name avatar, since you asked? Please and Thank you...all of the magic words apply. Thank you.
Went to New York and caught a great show...now just trying to get past the wedding date (August 9) Sure will be glad to get past this hoopla, but want the day to go well for Michella....See you around...I'll be reading if not commenting...trying to stay in touch.
Bean, sure hope things improve with your MIL,and hope all who are unwell, are soon on the road to improved health. Miss you all. Peace.

Dirty dishes cupboard? I like that! Mine has finished, and full of clean dishes. So dirty ones are in the sink, rinsed and awaiting thier turn. I do not think I shall be emptying the cupboard tonight! too close to bed time and I have been occupied with the feeding of family all day.

Put away a ton of canned goods
Rearranged pantry to make room for same
found I had room in pantry for 6 more cans
Resisted the urge to run out and purchase same
cut and cooked 6 pounds of squash
packaged same for freezing
Sliced a boneless ham
put ham into packages for freezer
rearranged that cold box thing
Rearranged 3 times the freezing box thing

OK, the rearanging toe freezer 3 times happened because, and you are not ging to believe this, but :

Every time I went to ref or freezer, the door to freezer was OPENED! just barely, but fridge was not staying cold, freezer was not freexing things I had put in. Hubby even said, " good thing I opened the freezer for ice, you left the door open". I explained I had found it open 3 times and been extra careful to close it correctly.

Well, he went back in the freezer again, he was getting ice to take to his office, and guess what? IT WAS AJAR AGAIN. not really screaming, just loud, for emphasis hehe. So he tells me it was the squash and ham that was pushing the door open, and he pushed them back somewhat, and again, for the 4th or 5th attempt, thought problem solved!

OK, I go back to kitchen to fill ice trays and guess what?? The door is ajar again!

the unfrozen bags of cooked squash were moving! they, in thier bag, were oozing over the edge of the shelf! I mean like a creeping ameoba or something alive. So, I left out ice trays and moved the squash to the back of a shelf, till they freeze.

If anyone told me squash could move, I would not have believed it hehehe

NOW, I am off to the kitchen to check and make sure the freezer door is not ajar.

True story I promise. I could not make up something that good. Huumm, could I sell that story line to one of the forensics shows? body parts put in the freezer that started . . . Oh just too gross to write, but the squash made it happen it!

The New York Show sounds wonderful, I hope you had a really great time. Wedding one week and counting, and I know you have something fabulous to wear. Looking forward to seeing photos of that event.

your story about the squash reminds me of years ago, my brother caught a shark & put it in the freezer & it was still jumping quite a while later, my sister opened the freezer & started screaming, thought it was still alive, just nerves apparently. Yes we did have a big freezer & it was only in there until he had time to cut it up

OH LEE, I would also scream if i saw a shark in the freezer, whether it was moving or not! Very good freezer story, thinks that tops mine!

Oh, did you know, for the longest I thought you were a topsider? I would read Lee, and Clevland, and think OHIO, USA, not Queensland, AU. Cleveland Ohio is up north, on the shores of one of the Great Lakes, Superior I think it is.

Lee - can't wait to see the new bathroom. We are in the middle of a huge construction project (broke ground 2 years ago - probably still have 2 years left before it's done. My husband (Mike) and me (but mostly him) are doing everything ourselves. We are so much slower at all this than we were a mere 7 years ago!

Lee, I think I missed reading some pages a few days ago, sorry about that. Life got in the way and I just never caught up again. AND that week after the colonoscopy, I read, but do not remember some of it. sorry your bathroom saga is one of the things that got lost in the fog.

Someone mentioned a family member who had colonoscopy and went out to dinner that night. That is the case with most, easy-peasy and back to normal fast. A few have complications from either the procedure or the anesthetic. I was unlucky enough to have problems from both. Almost back to normal now I hope. Unless you find me again forgetting huge hunks of pages I have read hehehe.

Vici, 2 of my sons, who have tiling experience, are doing the job in their spare time , but its been 1 thing after another, no wetsealing done previously, then all the woodwork had to be redone, then the toilets backed up (not a pretty sight)& the wetsealing had to be redone All takes time to dry - but there is light at the end of the tunnel

MizT Ithink it was about that time - I know I wasn't around for a while & 30 pages later I had to go back & see what everyone was talking about. CynB & I live in about 2 or 3 suburbs away from each other, I haven't met her yet but next time there's a luncheon on I hope to be there. Mary from Manly is also not far away

Oh Vici, we must get together and discuss long drawn out building projects and how just 7 years can really make a difference in what we can do.
and I really think Al and I are older than you and Mike, so it really slows us down sometimes.

Our pproject is right close by, on our property. we have been living in "temporary" housing for eight years now, but there was a little thing called open heart surgery that got in the way.

Tricia - that's it! I had my laptop in my bedroom and they got in!
Lee - that is always what's tough about remodels...all the problems you run across. In our last house in Monterey, by the time my husband finished he would have rather torn the whole thing down and built it new!

OH My, thanks for the short version to get me up to speed, Lee. that does sound like a nightmare. I hope you get it finished and enjoy it for many years to come!

VICI, you are not a computer spaz, you just ran into something you have not seen =before. We all had to learn, you know, and someone along the way helped us. so it is our duty to help someone as repayment! Just ask, someone will have something that might help.

Vici not game to start any more renos inside at the moment - we're also doing outside as well, a new retaining wall & Pergola & fixing the roof on a pergola on the other side of the house, also relandscaping the swimming pool. Keeping hubby doing that so him & the boys are still talking later, them inside, him outside

Well, knowing what can happen on a build, I insisted our Temporary housing be more than the travel trailer hubby wanted to buy! We are in an older but well built mobile home, I have 1000 sq feet and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. One bedroom is about the size of my new closet, but it functions as a sewing room for me.

AT least I do not have dust in the house, you cannot keep dust on the other side of a curtain!

AND we are building a complete house, and pay as you go. It may take several more years, but I am seeing progress , slow but steady progress.

Remember the old song, that's where my money goes, to by my baby's clothes?? ( need notes now)

Well, mine goes to building materials!
