Suzy, Richard remembered that it is our anniversary and asked if I wanted to do something, I know I said to Vici I hoped he had booked something, but I'm not too bothered about going out. We go on holiday next week and I know we will be eating out a lot then, so we might order some take out and have a quiet night at home with a bottle of bubbly.

I always worry about going out on our anniversary Brenda as it's close to the only time we do go out on our own, apart from the occasional chinese for lunch...

Didn't get time to tell you earlier - I went up to the school and talked to Ally's teacher/the principal (one and the same). Told him what she was called (used the words as I knew it would shock him - he's very old fashioned), her lunch time in the toilets etc. He called the girls over and told them off big time. They even had to apologise to me and say they would apologise to Ally on Monday. They looked very cowed....

The funny thing was the other bullies were watching - guilty consciences, they thought I was talking about them!!!

Anyway, it made Ally feel much better... And I will be with her on Monday at the athletics carnival, assuming the weather clears up and it's on.

Suzy, I was like that when the kids were younger. I always wanted to include them in things we did. Now they are older Richard and I have started to go away by ourselves. Of course at the moment our youngest is in Canada enjoying herself. Andrew is in his own world with his new laptop and Elaine is busy with lesson plans for the new school year.

Suzy, pleased to hear that something has been done at school. Ally now knows that all she has to do is tell someone and something will be done. It isn't nice when a child is bullied.
I think we have spoken before about this, my youngest was bullied until she realised that it wasn't her fault, then she thought up some 'come backs' to say to the bullies. It still upset her when she had these 'conflicts' but she knew she was better than the bullies and they don't get the reaction they are after from her.

Suzy I am so glad you have talked to the teacher and hopefully things will improve. At least the bullies know that you and Ally are not afraid to report them. I will let Sharon know how things are going.

Brenda, I took Ally throught the comments today to show her that bullying happens to everyone. I told her what wonderful people you all are, so that was proof that the bullying wasn't about her, it was about the bullies. I really think it helped.

Of course we also discussed tactics, including not taking the bait etc. She's apparently got the deadpan down pretty well, though hiding yesterday was a bit of a giveaway.... It's a very small school, there is nowhere to hide!

June, I will keep you updated! I'm sure it's not going to end here, but Alyssa (and the bullies) has been told that she MUST report name calling to the teacher immediately, it is not dobbing, she is doing what she has been told to do. Hopefully she will have the courage to do it, and hopefully she and the other girls who are being picked on will start to see some improvement.

She will be fine Suzy, she has a Mum who gives a damn.

Have a wongerful time while you are away (just in case I don't remember to mention it closer to the time). Make sure one of the nights you 'go out' is an anniversary evening.

Oh - just caught you there, Rolanda! I talked with a computer-type friend of mine last night and he asked what operating systems you gals were using (re the music notes)...we have Gateway products in our house (laptops and desktop)...can't seem to get that sort of function out of ours. This friend of Mike's is stopping by today and is going to see if he can get my pooter to respond with some tunes!
