Um ah Guys! Were any of you on this trial?

A million dollar Sydney drugs trial has been aborted after it was found jurors were playing the puzzle game sudoku while evidence was being given.

He discharged the jury in the trial which had been running for 66 days over the past four months and had cost taxpayers an estimated $1 million.

I won't be on here much this morning - have to keep the phone line free until I hear whether d1 is really a delinquent or has been maligned! Have a great day!

Rena my daughter will be saying in Edmonton with m brother and his family. They may even go out to Alberta Beach where he has a property near the lake.

MAMA, you reminded me of rum and lemonaide I once had summertimes with neighbors. We would gather on my back deck ( mine was the shady in afternoon deck) after all the yard work was done for the week and have a couple of tall ones. Mind you, the rum was just for flavor, not half a jigger to a tall tall glass, but so refreshing, yummy. I need to ask hubby to pick up some run, next trip he makes to the " state store".

I am listening to a little thunder bumper just north of us this afternoon. It is over the local small airport where the weather info is recorded, and thier temp has dropped to 75 degrees from somewhere around 90 degrees. We are getting a nice breeze from it. Hubby and I actually sat outside for a bit on the back deck, watching the dark clouds build. Today the storms are moving in thier usual pattern, south west to north east.

RENA, I cannot believe you had snow this morning. I know my quilting friend up the north most tip of WA state said they might get some last night. this is such strange weather!

Just a quick sneak peek before I venture off down to the main street for my weekly 'Why am I doing this' ritual! It takes a half hour to walk there and that is ok, it's the walk home that is the killer! Uphill, all the way.

Atlast I got to read all the posts from the party down under. I am soo happy when we in different time zones get to " drop in" later to a party! So much fun to share your fun like that. Liz and Elsie were not around for the last to post contest and need to get the knack for posting on this page/ I know it is a lot easier for those of us who have high speed, but I do so much enjoy being able to join your party days later!!

Looking forward to the outting on the boat, just have to power up the " beam me up" machine to get there.

SUZY, sorry you have to wait a month for your spot removal. I could have had mine off next week, but it conflicted with appointment with my new primary care physician. I have more trouble getting appointment with him than with a specialist! Go figure! So no way was I ging to try to change that one. I think it is only a new patient appointment, that takes so very long. He sets aside a longer amount of time for that is what I was lead to believe.

It's official, d1 is NOT a delinquent. Whew! (wiping my brow here). Turns out the actual delinquent has a similar, though not identical, last name. Which raises the question, what if they had the same last name? It was the fact that her record to date had been clear that caused the VP to look further, so I hope he does what he said he was going to do and clears the current mark from her record...

Wonderful news about the cooler weather MizT!

SUZY, I am so glad you got that cleared up at school. Any way you can follow up later to be sure they did remove this from her record? I would do some documentation now, who you talked with and when and what was said, just in case. Better to be prepared than daughter to have a blotch on her record.

MizT - already started. VP told me I could just throw the letter away as it was all cleared up - not gonna happen!!! Will note when he called and what he said for future reference, just in case!

More quail babies! I don't think they will survive though - it's too cold. There seems to be a bit of natural selection going on too. They seem to manage their own population before we can reduce it for them (via a petshop or something).

Rum and lemonade MizT? Might have to give that a try! When I first went to the States in 1988 a woman from work ordered me a long island iced tea. Had NO idea what it was. Sure worked it out quickly when I had to get up to walk to the car!!!!!

Hubby and I will be celebrating 20 years since we met this year. Our preference would be a return visit to the Queen Mary for Sunday brunch (our first 'date', sort of), but we might settle for a nice restaurant with a nice bottle of wine and NO KIDS!
