Heidi, congrats on your rooster winning. Maybe next year the betas will take the prize.

Hello lovely SA5 people.
Welcome back Julie and Becky - been wondering where you'd got to.
'Cooties' - that's right, that's what they'd call them but my senior mind can't remember back 25-30 years to when they were kids.

Hi Mariana, no I don't think we've met. I've been mia for a couple of weeks. Welcome to the page.

Cyn B, I think the only reason I remember is that a neighbor used to have a game called "Cooties."

Rolanda, have you tried hot toddies for you and the boys? It might not cure the flu, but after enough of them, you guys won't care.

Bean, are you ok? Did almost the same thing on my first office job. Would hook my right foot in the arm of the chair and pull it under me (always sat on my foot). One day, pulled it towards me and didn't see that it was at an angle. Sat on the floor for a second, looked around and said "Oh, there's my pen."

Hi Mariana - yep I agree, I'll keep my hubby - after being together for over 23 years now. Every time he annoys me which actually isn't that often, I remind myself that I'm not perfect either.

Sleep well, Becky.

I want to thank everyone for their congrats and best wishes when we finally settled yesterday, and to those who wished my brother a Happy Birthday. I will try to get to everyone personally but that may take days. I may be technically retired but today I had to do all the final invoices and post out notices to every customer to let them know we had sold up. Pheww! Luckily my daughter came and helped me and we got it done in enough time to go and have lunch before she left to pick up her kids from school. She thinks like I do, it helps!

MizT - having a lottery plan is good. I've always had it worked out and I adjust it to whatever the 1st prize is for the week - there would be a difference between what you'd do with $3mil to what you'd do with $50mil - right?

No, Mariana, it was half-baked Bean.
I would fall off a chair at the thought of being a nurse! Nearly all the women in my family - aunts, sister and cousins are nurses, but that gene missed me.

Mariana - retirement plans -
Trip tp WA in a few weeks.
Get back into doing mosaics.
Finish a Scrapbook that I'm doing for 3 of my Granddaughters.
Lose weight.
Read more books.
Hope to go to UK for my friends wedding next year.
See more of my Mum, while I can.
Spend time with my sister now she lives close to me.
Do some art lessons.
Have Hubby home at a reasonable hour every night.

When I write it down like that, it seems selfish and trivial, I realise that I should get more involved in the community - so I'll take a look at what I can do there, bearing in mind that I generally hate getting involved with some of those self-important community committee people who think it's their responsibility to tell you what you already know.

Have just read todays posts but have not caught up with others for the last couple of days. Sharon has not been well so have been having Laura when she was not in child care. I can sit and go all the easy jigsaws in archives with her. Laura tells me where to put the pieces.

I thought I had eliminated a lot of photos from the chips, but still managed to get about 500 printed (at 10c a print) and still have the chip in hubbies camera to do. Took about 3 hours to edit them on the machine.

I'm back! Sorry I took off so suddenly earlier... very rude of me. The alarm on my phone reminding me to meet the bus went off, then all I had time to do was log off before we took off for netball...

Becky, I thought about a wagon or something, but can't work out how to manipulate things so it doesn't slow everything down too much. Any tips?? There's also the no sidewalk problem.... Half the roads don't even have gutters! I will try the banana thing next time I go (Saturday or Sunday) and let you know if it helps.

I have blisters on the bottom of my feet!!!! Guess I'd better buy some gel inserts.

Got timed out so here we go again
Sharon has had diarrhoea and stomach cramps since last Saturday. Dr now thinks it could be diviticulitis(?) and she will have a scan next Monday. Laura will be in child care tomorrow but I will probably be on call Saturday and will have her part of Monday. Guess that is what Mothers and grandmothers are for.

Mariana - I laughed when I read about your no-solos decision. The only solo I would ever do is in the car with the radio up so loud even I can't hear myself sing! I won't even join the adult choir....

I always feel like an under-achiever when I read Shoshu's posts! Running miles, inspiring youngun's, it's all too much! See what she's done to you? Made you go and do something healthy! Geez!

Suzy, we had canvas shoulder bags but worked out routes and knew how many for each section. Could then park the car at a spot and with a down and back route did not have to carry too many at once. We actually did it as a family (except for the times that Ken and I seemed to get left with them) and that made it easier.
With heavy things like detergent samples we used a shopping cart (An old one that was two weels and vynal)

Hi Broni, I'm going to copy this post before I submit as I keep getting timed out and don't want to re-type!!

It's weird Broni, they are polite, but not nice. But today, they picked Ally for their team in the school mini-Olympics, and one of them even 'talked to me (Ally) as if she was my friend', (said in a very confused voice). Ally is quite happy with polite, and would probably prefer it over the confusing stuff... definitely better than the bullying!

Zusy you an under achiever OMG you have to be joking! Don't know how you juggle it all and have time for here.
Yeah personally I would be very cautious of friendly guestures or am I being cynical....setting her up for a fall? Polite is good.

June, sorry to hear Sharon is so unwell. Here's a get well pressie for her....

I use a shoulder bag, and have counted how many I need for each street. The problem is that many of my streets are dead-ends, and have more houses than I can physically carry enough pamphlets for! I was supposed to do 9 this week (two of them like magazines) and some streets have 44 houses. I ended up splitting them into 2 deliveries. I worry about a cart as I trip on some of the tree roots etc and have mental pictures/nightmares of myself picking up pamphlets when the cart tips over and having to resort them all! The girls help with the weekend delivery, but tend to tire too easily and let me do the end bits...

I have had lots of welcome backs, lost count who from! I certainly missed you guys (Laura's latest expression). I took the lap top but did not get much time to post and Hubby also wanted to check work stuff.

Suzy park in the middle of the street, up and back one end, then up and back the other! I realise your area would be harder than a city area!
